Emerald Robinson Takes Down Kevin McCarthy

This tweet follows, of course, Tucker Carlson's brutal expose of Frank Luntz and Luntz's ties to ... Kevin McCarthy:

The Tucker monologue--it woulda been an interview if Luntz had agreed to appear--was totally scorched earth, and McCarthy found himself in the path of the flame thrower:

As sundance observed at the time, something is obviously going on here. The question is: Why would the House leader of a major political party not be out in front on the issues that Robinson pinpoints? Two issues: Liz Cheney and Frank Luntz. How hard is that for the Republican leader to figure out in the Trump era? Serious internal warfare going on? Time to straighten all that out, and fast.

  1. There's a lot of debate among patriots as to whether the GOP should be ditched like the Whig Party of the 1850s and a new party formed, or reformed within. I see good arguments on both sides. Trump seems to have decided to continue his hostile takeover of the GOP from within. But when i read stories like this and then consider that this is the same old @#$% we've been getting from Boehner to Ryan to McCarthy, I've had it. A party that can't find a majority/minority leader after Gingrich that actually implements its voters' will is not a party serious about its voters and therefore not deserving of continued existence. Heck, just looking at the way the party fights Trump at every turn (except when they need him to raise money and endorse) is indictable. You'd think they'd recognize that Trump saved the GOP from extinction but all the party cares about is fooling voters for another term. For every Hawley there are 20 Romneys.

"For every Hawley there are 20 Romneys."

Ah, yes...Mitt Romney. There's Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney, and Frank Luntz. And then there's Mitch McConnell. And then there's Mitt Romney.

Yesterday the Utah GOP told Romney what they think of him.

      See: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9533985/Senator-Mitt-Romney-BOOED-delegates-Utah-GOP-convention-voting-impeach-Trump.html

In particular, I savored the moment when Romney told the GOP delegates: 'I'm a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president's character issues.'

To me, this said it all. What are the relevant 'character issues' in an impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors? In neither impeachment did the House managers come remotely close to proving any high crime or misdemeanor. Romney voted to convict, twice, however, not based on a preponderance of the evidence or the law, but -- now we learn -- on some nebulous concept of 'character issues', which, let's face it, simply boils down to the fact that the politician Romney doesn't like the politician Trump.

It would be interesting if the sanctimonious Establishment politician Romney admitted exactly why he doesn't like the rough-around-the-edges Populist politician Trump.

    2. Interesting to see a Vulture Capitalist like Romney talking about character, isn't it?

    3. Cass and Mark, two of the best comments I’ve seen in a while. Romney is a petty little man. A pretender to the high road. His fraudulent mask.

    4. Yes...vulture capitalist, as well as deep state denizen, military industrial complex toadie, and endless warmonger...

    5. And, even if this BS wasn't coming from a Vulture Capitalist like Romney, anyone whining about DJT's character should be asked
"compared to that of who else? the Bidens? the Clintons?"

  2. Emerald is a gem...say no more, say no more

BTW, I love the photo of her on her Twitter account with her late father who was a coal miner...I would have been terrified if I was a teenage boy coming by the house to pick her up as my date, just sayin'

  3. Remember the book by Ryan, Cantor, and McCarthy, "The Young Guns"? Those were the good old days. KM has only lasted because there were other lightning rods to take the well-deserved hits. Now that his fecklessness is on full display, it turns out he is even worse than his buddies Paul and Eric were.

    1. I'll give Cantor credit for one thing: when he got punked in his primary he didn't badmouth the voters but just trotted off to his next high paying gig. By GOPe standards that's showing character.

  4. I finally watched the Tucker monologue on Frank Luntz. I got the link from treehouse.

    Wow.

What was not mentioned was how Luntz regards himself as a member of the resistance and resigned from the GOP in 2020, but he is not a never Trumper. And works with Mike Pence, Kevin McCarthy, Lindsey Graham, and Rubio.

And emailing Hunter, and then saying the Hunter laptop is a distraction.

    And 53 and single.

    Hmm...

    2. For a long time, most of us have thought Luntz was an extremely weird little man. His manner, his wigs, his OO, the works. A wannabe who could never be, he managed to sell himself as an election guru. Just another snakeoil salesman.

We weren’t able to watch the whole Tucker thing, but he really went after Luntz and it was a joy to behold. Little Frank wouldn’t even show up to defend himself. Rich….

I wonder which of the eGopers in the Senate who voted for Samantha Power are Luntz's clients...

These guys actually voted FOR Samantha Power...

    4. Here's the list of 'GOP' Senators who voted to confirm Samantha Power as the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development. To my knowledge she has never explained her involvement with the unmaskings conducted by the Obama Administration to surveil its political opponents. To me, they all, even Ron Johnson, owe us an explanation.

      Blunt (R-MO)
      Burr (R-NC)
      Capito (R-WV)
      Collins (R-ME)
      Cornyn (R-TX)
      Crapo (R-ID)
      Fischer (R-NE)
      Graham (R-SC)
      Inhofe (R-OK)
      Johnson (R-WI)
      McConnell (R-KY)
      Moran (R-KS)
      Murkowski (R-AK)
      Portman (R-OH)
      Risch (R-ID)
      Romney (R-UT)
      Sasse (R-NE)
      Wicker (R-MS)
      Young (R-IN)

    5. Samantha Power is a conscience-free warmonger. Like many of these conscience-free individuals, she poses as a "humanitarian." Power supported the Obama Biden Clinton NATO bombing of Libya, which turned Libya (formerly one of the most prosperous and stable nations in N Africa) into a terrorist hellhole with slave markets. She supported the Obama Clinton Biden Brennan regime change attempt in Syria, where the CIA's Operation Timber Sycamore gave a billion per year to "moderate rebels" aka Qaeda and Nusra Front jihadis.

Power's spouse is the notorious Cass Sunstein, who advocated that, "“Our main policy claim here is that government should engage in cognitive infiltration of the groups that produce conspiracy theories.”

Is Sunstein behind Biden's chilling plan to surveil Democrats' opponents social media content?

  5. The Cheri Bustos story is an interesting one, on the other side. I seem to recall that her election--she eventually 'won' by 4%--was too close to call for several days. Then she wins by 4%? There were some hinky vote dumps in IL in 2020, which really makes you wonder about other Blue states. They'd probably have won IL anyway, but it was also about the popular margin, not just electoral votes.

  6. Why did Tucker eviscerate Luntz now?

It seems Tucker mentioned Luntz was supporting amnesty early last week.

Then Luntz hit back on Twitter about Tucker saying call the police if you see a child wearing a mask.

And then Tucker did his monologue.

  7. Tucker reminds me of a plastic canary in a coal mine... I equate his performances to that of Glen Beck's former position when he was ripping off infowars reporting on blackboards. Fox seemed to understand that it needs that Tucker / Beck personality stuck somewhere into it's primetime globalist shilling mix.

I can't help but note the number of times and ways we've seen theses message sellers end up face down in a bowl of cheetos and selling out their base.

If that sounds harsh, I'm looking at there programming numbers post Nov 20 thru March 21 and noting the full recovery of viewership. Even Trump threw away his own "boycott" of the network.

It's just a theory but I've noted hundereds of comments from all over making the exception excuse for Tucker as a reason for tuning back in. That primetime draw certainly seems to have worked because the ratings have slowly recovered per and post Tuckers time slot.

I don't think Tucker "gets away with" his monologue... I think it's well scripted to it's purpose and helps sell the GOP party line to it's anti party side of the equation. It's edgy, but safely within the bounds of not calling the whole mess out for what it is.

You have to keep fooling people into believing they can "change" things via party line voting... If not the whole gig is up and the Uniparty has real problems.

It's marketing... Tucker just conveniently (safely) uses party members who have selected themselves.

Zoom out to the 10k foot level and think about it...

    1. Devilman,

I don't understand the politics at Fox and other Murdoch Media Properties. Fox is keeping Chris Wallace, a true Swamp Creature and a Never Trumper. Yet, Tucker is allowed to push the limits, and given a significant nationwide audience. And Fox is interviewing Trump again. I was amazed at the deforestation of Luntz by Tucker. Perhaps the decrease in ratings at Fox, rise of OAN, had an impact on what was allowed?

WSJ, another Murdoch Publication, the regular news reads like the NY Times, extremely biased. Yet, the editorial page make sense. And the NY Post, another Murdoch Publication, released the Hunter Biden Laptop. But, the articles are often pretty biased to the left, and follow the uniparty narrative.
