Briefly Noted: Covid Vaccine Hoax?

IMO, Trump is being very foolish in pushing this vaccine thing. Today at Lifesite news there's an hour long video interview:

A medical expert [Dr. Theresa Deisher] with over 30 years' experience in the field of commercial biotechnology has said that COVID-19 vaccines developed at “warp speed” are likely not safe and not necessary.

Here's the article that introduces the video:

The Coming Covid-19 Vaccine

The interview covers a lot of different angles and, while it is technical in parts, I highly recommend it. As one example, she gets into the important issue of the lack of transparency in the development of these vaccines:

Deisher questioned the lack of transparency shared by COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers at the various stages of production, raising concerns over the data and the reports of negative side effects in test groups. “Vaccine companies are not releasing the data to the public,” she said. “I think that the side effects in cherry-picked healthy individuals are very concerning and when you get out there into the wild, where people aren't cherry-picked, the side effects will just get worse. It's very concerning.”

She also doesn't believe the vaccine is necessary to begin with. Fairly early in the interview she makes the point that, while initially we were unsure how this virus would behave, the intervening months have shown that it's behaving much like other similar respiratory viruses. What she means is--and she explains this--these viruses come in "waves", with each succeeding wave yielding a virus that is more contagious than the previous wave, but also less virulent. The result we're seeing fits that pattern: more infections, but fewer serious outcomes. In other words, she adds, it's on its way to being a common cold or flu type of phenomenon: Endemic, but something we can readily deal with.

And so she states, in effect, that there's really no point to this vaccine. No point, because why would you give a vaccine that has serious side effects to perfectly healthy people who are unlikely to suffer great harm?

Commenting on the need for a vaccine, Deisher laid out that “this virus to date has less than a 0.03% fatality rate and most of those people, I believe it's 92% or above, have other health problems; we're making a vaccine at warp speed for a virus that doesn't look like it's going to need a vaccine.” She added that “[i]t is possible, but I don’t believe it is desirable, nor do I believe that it’s safe,” with as much as “15% of the very healthy young volunteers [experiencing] significant side effects.”

I transcribed one portion of the interview in which Deisher gets into the question of efficacy rates. She maintains that the methodology was bogus (my word, not hers), and that the true efficacy rate is unlikely to exceed half of the touted 95%:

Q: How is vaccine efficacy determined, especially with such a short test time frame? Extrapolation of such a small sample size can lead to wrong conclusions. Also, how can we be certain that there will be no long term side effects?

A: So, for the Covid 19 vaccines they're determining efficacy, be it by measuring how many people get the Covid 19 infection. So, for example, the first one hundred people who get the infection, they unblind the treatment and in one of the vaccines, 95% of the people who got the infection got a placebo and five percent got the vaccine. That's where they come up with the 95% efficacy rate. But that's not actually a legitimate efficacy rate determination. They will hafta, I mean, there will be hundreds of thousands of people really out in the wild before we will know. And just as a comparison, the most effective flu vaccine that we have is only 44% effective. It's unlikely that they're going to do better. The coronaviruses are not good candidates for a vaccine--they're just not that highly immunogenic. And so it's not just the virus or the recombinant protein or the RMNA they're using. They're really having to boost the immune response, and that's probably driving the side effects.

That last bit about boosting the immune response is very important. It suggests what I've heard elsewhere, that these vaccines may behave more like unguided missiles--attacking all sorts of cells, and not just targeted virus cells. This would explain the wide range of serious side effects that have been reported.

Of course, this is an hour long interview, so there's much more:

    1. But our globalist masters--like the Gates--would never make that a covert feature, would they?

  2. Due to a number of reasons, I will not be getting any COVID-19 vaccine.

That approval has been rushed, no evidence that there are no serious side effects.

Besides that, none of them are readily available.

Most of all, the HCQ cocktail is a proven cure with virtually no side effects. The drugs can also be taken at much lower doses as a prophylactic treatment.

  3. My comment is slightly off-topic.

I am puzzled by the claim that asymptomatic people spread COVID-19. How was that claim determined?

If you wanted to test a hypothesis that asymptomatic people spread a virus, then how would you test that hypothesis?

  4. via Citizens Free Press, University of Pittsburg Medical System (~89,000 employees) WILL NOT REQUIRE their employees to take the vaccine; it's too new, effects both mid- and long-term unknown, etc.

    Pathetic.

  6. Thanks for posting this video.

The bandwagon effect lives large in our betters. I must say, the level of incompetence we find in positions of power in our country is truly mind blowing. I put nothing past them, nothing.

The Pfizer vaccine isn't even a true vaccine. A true vaccine is a live, attenuated, or killed virus that is not self-replicating. The Pfizer item is self-replicating. Ponder that.

Any garden variety mad scientist movie will tell you how this ends. This French film is the Rosetta Stone of monomania:

Maybe Dr. Deisher is wrong. Then again...

    1. Thanks for that succinct explanation. That's what I had heard but found hard to express. I believe that it's the fact that 'this Pfizer item' is self replicating that explains the "boost" to the immune response that Deisher cites--and which also, she believes (and others have also said this), leads to the severe side effects. As she says, it may be one thing to do that to cherry picked healthy volunteers, but ...

  7. I once worked as a contractor for a big pharmaceutical company. Three observations are relevant.

First, the higher you went in management, the dumber the people got. Second and conversely, the working scientists and doctors were extremely smart.

But third, they all *really wanted* to be right. They had invested great effort in producing new molecules that they hoped would help people. They were therefore true believers in what they had produced. It made them overly optimistic about both safety and efficacy. One drug on which I'd worked seemed to have no major side-effects, but one was discovered later. Fortunately, it was not permanent and it went away when people stopped taking the drug.

And those drugs weren't developed and approved "at warp speed." Caution is entirely appropriate in this case.

  8. Ivermectin. Standard anti-parasite medicine. $6 per pill. It works against COVID according to Dr. Pierre Kory who has been prescribing it, and https://www.drugs.com/medical-answers/ivermectin-treat-covid-19-coronavirus-3535912/ from August and https://trialsitenews.com/category/ivermectin/

"The trials so far have shown ivermectin reduces the number of cell-associated viral RNA by 99.8 % in 24 hours.

This was an in vitro study which means they were testing cells in a laboratory and not in a living organism. Studies are now needed to be done on ivermectin on people or animals to see how well ivermectin works against COVID-19. This is in vivo testing.

Ivermectin is currently a FDA approved medicine for treatment of intestinal worms, Strongyloides stercoralis and Onchocerca volvulus. It has been established as safe for human use."

  9. While I don't know about the effects of the vaccine and I also do not subscribe to the Bill gates boogieman conspiracies about it... I do know one thing... if we allow the illegitimate government to take power, they will quickly make it "necessary" insofar as you won't be able to live out a normal life if you don't. No shopping, no travel, no jobs, etc.

Haven't had a flu shot in more years than I can count - nor have I had the flu in a really long time either- but not taking this one is a fight I don't want to have with my SO.

  12. When I went to the mailbox this afternoon, one of my neighbors was also picking up her mail. Seems like a nice woman. We both were wearing the obligatory mask. I made the comment that it was too bad that masks do NOT work! She was quite startled. I explained to her about the Danish mask study, which involved thousands of people. Her response? She said that was just one study and that she felt more secure wearing a mask with all the cases of Covid-19 in southern California. I asked her, politely, if she would believe one study if it gave the answer she wanted. She said "no", but I sensed that was not a particularly nice question on my part. Believe in the science! When did I awake in country populated by sheep? I await a visit from the Covid Nazis. Neil in SD.

    1. So sad. I walk everyday, maskless. Other walkers all distance from me--veer out onto the grass, leave the sidewalk for the street, etc. Far more common than not. What they think will happen if they walk past me--a couple of seconds--within 3 ft. in the fresh air is beyond me. I used to greet people, now I tend to ignore them when they do that.
