I have a reason for asking that question. That reason is this--the NYT is reporting that Wray will stay on under a Biden presidency if Trump doesn't fire him. That should give pause for thought but, I expect, will pass largely unremarked:
Wray Stays: Biden Plans To Keep FBI Director Installed Under Trump
Loyalty in a toady should always be rewarded.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like this idea:

I will be very happy if Trump is re-elected and then fires Wray.
ReplyDeleteIf, however, Trump is not re-elected, then he should just let Wray be.
All the Trump-haters would say that President Trump fired Wray in order to prevent the FBI from investigating ex-President Trump.
Personally I could care less what "All the Trump-haters" say. They abhorred me and mine yesterday, they hold me and mine in contempt today, and they will despise me and mine tomorrow. Trump is just temporarily in the way. Restraint will in no way mitigate their malevolence.
DeleteI am done being remotely concerned about their feelings. Let the axe fall.

"I am done being remotely concerned about their feelings. Let the axe fall."
DeleteI want to say literally, but I won't.
Yeah, if Trump is not re-elected, then he should just let Wray be, so that Biden can be seen keeping Wray, and make it obvious to fence-sitters, that Wray was Uniparty all along.
DeleteI didn't even like Trump until late 2017, early 2018 or so. And made no secret that I had never voted for a major party presidential candidate and was a "plague on both your houses" guy.
DeleteNot buying into their bizarre, Lyndon Larouchesque, water flouridation conspiracy theories was enough to get my patriotism and integrity questioned by my former friends who voted for Hillary, including guys who attended my commissioning and served in Afghanistan with me.
These people are loonier than all of the Warner Brothers cartoons combined, and they'll accuse anyone of anything if it furthers their narrative. We're 5 months away from "Trump and his Russian pals started coronavirus so they could profit from the vaccine." What Trump does or does not do does not matter--these nut jobs will come up with the craziest conspiracy theories you ever heard and the FBI will investigate it and fire anyone who indicates they are applying any common sense or critical thinking to the ludicrous narrative.
And terminate Fauci as an incompetent buffoon while you're at it, Mr. President.

Wray's smirk irritates me. And he gets what he wants, which is staying in the job as Trump exits. (or even if he is fired, he will be re-hired.) It's maddening.
ReplyDeleteWray looks like he’s in a permanent state of flatulence. A giant enema needs to be administered to the deepstate.
DeleteIt's really doesn't matter whom fires whom or who keeps who or who replaces who...
ReplyDeleteI've been saying for some time that fire Wray was fire Comey, was Fire Muller was fire Freeh, was, was, was.
Fire DC... That's about the only thing that will change things.
Do these guys even care if they get fired?
DeleteThey'll just move on to another more lucrative position... the dollars will keep on rolling in... while they're portrayed in the media as "heroes"
Frank
Cut him loose. He hasn’t earned being left there for a full ten years. Ten too many, in my book…
ReplyDeleteI wonder of our President is keeping a list: Things To Be Done on January 19, 2021.
How does someone who was never an FBI agent even get to be the Head Cheese? SES playing musical chairs as usual?
