Joe diGenova On Biden Inc., Chris Wray, And Bill Barr

It should come as no surprise that in his latest appearance on WMAL Joe diGenova goes after Chris Wray in no uncertain terms--again. He absolutely detests Wray and the thing about that is, diGenova is perfectly placed--has been for decades--to have the lowdown on all the people we're watching in the Swamp.

I've transcribed just a few minutes of Joe's appearance. It's the part, beginning around 10:30, where he responds to a question about the Biden Inc. scandal. He first excoriates Wray, in his usual terms, but then Mary Walter asks the question so many people ask: Hey, what about Bill Barr? I addressed that just yesterday, but ...

JOE diGENOVA: [Describes apparent lack of FBI investigation into Biden family.] The evidence of illegal activity--whether it's FARA, Foreign Agents Registration Act, bribery, extortion, conspiracy by the vice president while he was flying around with his son on planes to foreign countries where his son then got business--la di da, how did that happen? This is ridiculous. And the fact that the FBI under Christopher Wray has done absolutely nothing--that we know of. There could be some bizarre, strange, ongoing, detailed, fabulous federal criminal investigation--my guess is, that ain't so--and so we are left with an empty bucket of nothing from the FBI and the Department of Justice.

I hope that Bill Barr, as soon as the election is over, will explain WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON with the Biden family. This is unacceptable. Either have one set of laws for everybody, or you don't. And right now, we have two sets of rules--one for Democrats, one for Republicans. And if anyone thinks that isn't true, they're an idiot.

MARY WALTER: Do you think the Attorney General will look into this and do something about this--even after the election?

JOE: I do. I do. And the reason for that is very simple. I have known Bill Barr for more than thirty years. He is a CONSUMMATE lawyer. He is also someone who believes very deeply in the integrity of the Department of Justice and he knows that it was compromised during the Obama administration, where that beautiful building was turned into a partisan political activity center, led by Andrew Weissmann--perhaps the worst federal prosecutor in the history of the department. And now he [Barr] has to inherit this mess. He took over--he, Bill Barr, took over with very little time to right the ship that's there. He's working on it. He's trying to do it. And he's being fought at every step of the way by career DoJ attorneys who are Democrats--95% of all the contributions going to the FEC from the DoJ went to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I'll simply add this. If Donald Trump has been unable to clean up his own White House--although since the fake impeachment he has made some strides--why should anyone think that the task of cleaning up DoJ, with all the entrenched attorneys protected under Civil Service, will be any easier for Barr?

How many Chiefs of Staff has Trump gone through, and how many of them have turned out to have been sabotaging him? The military is still largely defying him. How long did it take him to maneuver John Ratcliffe into a position of influence? And yet Gina Haspel is still in place to thwart investigations.

Hopefully, the election will be a real watershed. Trump's move on Civil Service could be a harbinger of things to come, and it may well also empower AG Barr.

  1. I agree with you, but I think Barr needs to say these things publicly in no uncertain terms. This place is a mess. its deeply political and it is the definition of the deep state. we're going to do some radical changes. its going to take time, but I am committed. yada yada.

I am fine with it after the election. I have vassilated between outrage we didn't get to this beforehand, but also a somber realization that the American public needs to decide if this is really what they want. Trump 2.0 is going to get really ugly, by design. We have the information we need about how deeply corrupted and *$%&ed the Leviathan has become. Trump 1.0 exposed it.

Now we have to decide if we'd rather take the blue bill and let the matrix quietly run our lives in exchange for some perceived peace and quiet.

  2. To one point he made that should spell it out. The 95% contribution rate to Clinton's campaign.

If they have not taken names and have a list ready to go I will be really disappointed!

The adminstrations issues on keeping a clean house is a great example of why I say the GOP is the DNC². His own party spent much of 2016-18 trying to slit his throat.

The Republican party became H.W. Bush globalist and never looked back.

    1. Such a "list" would be illegal.

    2. Having a list of insubordinate employees would not be illegal. Any government employee can be fired for insubordination. If not, they could be reassigned to BFE.

    3. Maintaining a list of employees as "insubordinate" because they donated to a political party is illegal.

      It wasn't a question.

    4. The insubordination would be for not carrying out the directives of the President. Who a government employee donates to is not relevant.

  3. In a roundabout way you are arguing that DC likely cannot heal itself, that the forces arrayed against Trump and Barr are so formidable that a return to "justice is blind" may not be on the menu. If true, then 1776 redux may become the de facto fallback alternative. And that would be a tragedy.

Barr needs to step onto the field soon after November 3rd, regardless of who wins. The Executive Branch is a huge bureaucracy and corrupt attorneys at DOJ can be rotated out to the hinterlands if necessary. Bad staff should not be an excuse for inaction or coverup. And diGenova is correct . . . Wray is a cancer and the FBI will become a corpse if he remains at the helm much longer.

If a true reckoning of justice is not forthcoming for the lowlife criminals who knowingly perpetrated and perpetuated the Russia fraud, I fear that is a most assured eventuality. What would be the alternative?

    2. Ric Grenell said today (on Dobbs) that Trump must remove people and replace them with outsiders, like Trump, who have no connection to D.C.

    3. We need about a thousand Ric Grenells.

  4. I agree on the adminstrations difficulty in finding clean supporters, it's like Joe D said in the interview. 95% of all DoJ contributions went to Clinton Inc.

It's also why I have lost all faith in the Republican party and see the GOP as the DNC². They have done everything could to stop Trump's agenda!

I'm hoping for a Ford styled Halloween Massacre but across several agencies, call it spite because it is.

Oveeall I don't think this can be fixed anymore. We set a very low bar when Nixon's adminstration was pardoned and that standard spread for the last 40 years to encompass anyone and everyone with a .gov email being exempted from accountability.

  6. I wonder how many senior DOJ attorneys will be included on Schedule F of the Executive Order just signed by Trump. If Mr. Barr has been hamstrung by a recalcitrant senior staff at DOJ, the President has hopefully just given him the means to move ahead in a substantive way. I could see Trump saying “the field is now wide open” Bill. I continue to be hopeful with Barr and Mark’s continued show of faith comes from a better base of knowledge than mine.

    1. Yeah, it'd be necessary to read the definition carefully to even get a clue as to how many might be in "policy" positions.

  7. As frustrated as I am by the lack of indictments before the election, I think it's worth noting that, if Trump wins re-election, it will be important that he did it without the 'assist' from Bill Barr.

But Trump 2.0 has to be very aggressive to take down the deep state. Last time he promised a prosecution of Hillary, but then backed off to avoid the spectacle of a 'partisan' prosecution. Guess what: Hillary and the Dems refused the olive branch. No doubt because they knew the rabbit hole was really a sink hole, but they refused it anyway.

This time Trump (and Barr) must follow the evidence no matter where it leads. If it leads where it now seems it will have a convulsive effect on the establishment political class, but that boil must be lanced if this nation is to have any hope of recovery.

(No doubt I could find some more metaphors to include...I'll try harder next time!)

  8. All eyes on Tucker tonight. He will have an extended interview with Bobulinski.
The show will have a HUGE (MAGA YUGE!) viewership.

  9. Why did they bother indicting Clinesmith, inasmuch as said indictment seems to have gone nowhere? Why was it necessary? Why grab lowly him?

    2. Clinesmith pleaded guilty. Sentencing scheduled for December 10.

  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the talk in some circles was that Clinesmith was going to testify, or turn against some higher ups, that his indictment was just the first small step. Well, I'm still waiting.

By nowhere I mean, what happened? Wasn't he about to be sentenced? Was he sentenced? Where is he?

    3. Well, you have me there, on the sentencing. The wheels of justice grind slowly, and I took my eye off the ball, the one Lucy's holding.
