Hunter Biden Associate Flips

Lotta stuff comin' down. The full title at Zerohedge--and I've only skimmed a bit--is:

Hunter Biden Business Associate Flips From Prison, Releases Emails Detailing China Influence-Peddling Operation

And the first paragraph goes like this:

Emails from a former Hunter Biden business associate [Bevan Cooney] serving time in prison for a 2016 investment scheme reveal that Hunter and his colleagues used their access to the Obama administration to peddle influence to potential Chinese clients and investors - including securing a private, off-the-books meeting with the former Vice President.

Zerohedge links to a big Breitbart article that includes sample emails. Here's Zerohedge's lead in to the link:

The emails, given to investigative journalist Peter Schweizer by former Biden associate Bevan Cooney and published by Breitbart also reveal that in 2011, the younger Biden and his business associates discussed strengthening relations with "China Inc." as part of a "new push on soft diplomacy for the Chinese."

As Breitbart notes, these emails are completely unconnected to the Hunter Biden emails released by the New York Post.

Cooney believes he was the "fall guy" for an investment scheme in which Hunter and business associate Devon Archer avoided responsibility. He reached out to Schweizer after the journalist published Secret Empires in 2018. Archer was initially spared jail and handed a second trial, however a federal appeals court reinstated Archer's fraud conviction in the case last week.

Cooney provided Schweizer with written authorization, his email account name, and password to his Gmail account to retrieve these emails. He authorized, in writing, the publication of these emails— notable because it is the first time a close associate has publicly confirmed Hunter’s trading on his father’s influence. -Breitbart

  2. The Breitbart article by Peter Schweizer and Seamus Bruner:

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/10/16/exclusive-this-is-china-inc-emails-reveal-hunter-bidens-associates-helped-communist-aligned-chinese-elites-secure-white-house-meetings/

Meanwhile Archer may not be as home free as he thought he was. And Hunter may be in Epstein vulnerability territory (although it may be too late for him to do any more harm)...

    1. Much will hinge on firms besides Breitbart running this.
MSM will be able to diss Breitbart as less reliable than the NYP.

  3. Wonder if Devon Archer has anything to say about being left holding the bag, now that his conviction has been held up

  4. I’m sure something even more unexpected will drop before the election - I wonder what.

Biden should be toast. I wonder how this will affects other Dem candidates on the ballot. Perhaps all the Hunter dirt will decrease Democrat voter turnout?

    1. So far, a lot of Americans do not know about this. And what they know is only that it "might be a foreign intel operation". Seriously, that is all that is being said about it on all the major news outlets except Fox. Most people who do not follow politics closely are just learning of the emails/photos and have no information at all about the implication of what has been found.

Giuliani has it right...he has to do daily news releases. In doing the release this way, it will build the story to the point that it cannot be dismissed. It has already gotten too big to ignore. But not it has to grow to get too big to dismiss.

  5. Great stuff! Judge Ronnie's taking over the 'fun' judge role from Sullivan!! She's the D.Ct. Judge who did her best to give Cooney a free walk, after a jury convicted him. Wife of a SCO lawyer, appointed by Obama. Hopefully, J. Roberts can explain all this again about no Obama judges...chump!

With Joe taking half the proceeds as part of the arrangement. Not hard to discern how it worked.

  7. An observation: conspicuously missing from the email drops from Crack-head Biden's HD are any emails to/from Joe.

One has to believe they exist, unless Joe didn't use email.

My working hypothesis is Giuliani has them, and is holding them back, hoping that Joe is dumb enough to claim he never emailed with Hunter. That's consistent with Biden's refusal to deny what's been revealed so far, instead referring to it as a "smear." He doesn't dare deny them outright, or deny he's exchanged them with Hunter, because he fears Giuliani has them.

IF they exist, then Giuliani will drop them on Joe's head at a time of Giuliani's choosing.

    Keep your popcorn ready ...

    1. Giuliani is already botching that.

    2. Yes, there almost certainly would be some kind of text or emails between Joe and Hunter. On a side note, Beau has also not been mentioned in any of this. Could he be the one clean/legitimate one in the whole family? Or is it just that it would appear too unseemly to attack him since he died?

    3. "Giuliani is already botching that."

Yes. Like Trump himself, Giuliani appears to be an imperfect, yet deeply honest, messenger.

      A perfect Greek tragedy.

    6. Mouse, thanks for asking me to clarify. I wasn't satisfied that I nailed it when I wrote the brief comment above, but I pushed the button anyway. I'll try again...although I am not sure I'm up to the task. (As is sometimes the case when I start typing, I have exceeded this blog’s word limitations for comments, so I’ll break this reply into three parts.)

1/ The comment was not intended to be sarcastic, but rather to express what I am coming to see as the tragic dimensions of our situation. At least I think 'tragic' is the right word.

Trump is the talented (and vain and narcissistic) but insecure boy from the outer boroughs (google Jamaica Estates, Queens) who comes to Manhattan to pursue the American Dream... before long he succeeds and he becomes a billionaire real estate developer and television celebrity...but he is caricatured as pompous and barely articulate...more a clown than a serious person. His flaws are hardly hidden: he is married three times; he is a known womanizer who delights in his freedom to grab pussies because...he can! He has this laughable idea he could run the country (the United States of America!) better than the elite politicians and the anointed and entrenched Establishment.

In 2015 he rides down the golden escalator in Trump Tower and declares his candidacy to make "America Great Again".

Trump was absolutely certain he could do it. After all, he had rebuilt the Wollman Rink in NYC in a matter of months when the politicians couldn't do it over a period of years. (See: https://www.forbes.com/sites/offwhitepapers/2015/08/24/donald-trump-and-the-wollman-rinking-of-american-politics/#15f2b6402fc8). Over the years Trump becomes absolutely convinced he can manage the polity better than the politicians.

Rather simplistically, Trump believes he can do the same thing for America that he did for Wollman Rink. In that respect this egotistic narcissist is, I believe, "deeply honest". I don't think he really has another agenda. He achieved the American Dream for himself. He thinks he (better than anyone else) can help all Americans achieve the American Dream.

What Trump failed to realize is that the America he has offered to fix is not only deeply broken (far more broken than Wollman Rink) but also controlled by deeply dishonest politicians, businessmen and financiers to whom it turns out Trump poses an existential threat.
To stop Trump, these enemies (the comedy: who first laughed at him) determine to destroy him. As they serially fail in their attempts, they become more desperate. Dirty political tricks and opposition research lead to clandestine investigations and illegal espionage. When these don't work, false prosecutions are brought against his allies and then a false impeachment attempt against him. When somehow these don't work, long simmering racial passions are unleashed with resulting violence in the streets...replete with arson, looting, police confrontations, and then...murder. Still Trump is not stopped and his existential enemies are even now planning their next steps to 'get him'...as Trump succeeds...continuing to expose their fundamental dishonesty...their fundamental evil.

  8. 2/Enter Rudy Giuliani. Who would have chosen 76 year old Rudolph William Louis Giuliani from East Flatbush, Brooklyn to deliver the next series of body blows to the criminal Establishment? Giuliani, like Trump, was an ambitious young man from the outer boroughs who came to Manhattan seeking success...the American Dream. Like Trump, he is vain and narcissistic. And deeply flawed. His hair, too, is strangely cut and dyed, and like Trump, he is often challenged to complete grammatically intact sentences. He too has been married three times. He promotes cigar sales and title insurance on his amateurish videocasts to make an extra buck!

And yet, listen carefully to the devastating case he is laying out against Joe Biden, for the moment Trump's chief rival. 'Clean' Joe, it is turning out, is a monstrous criminal. A politician for '47' years, he has grown very rich trading government favors for payments to his family. In the process he has sold the American people out repeatedly...in Russia, in Ukraine, in Kazakhstan...and it is now emerging...in China, where the greatest threat to the future of the United States lies.

And who believes Clean Joe is the only corrupt politician in the Establishment lineup? After Joe, Hillary? And Bill? And Barack Obama? What have they got which they desperately need to hide? And what weapons will they marshal to prevent Donald and Rudy from bringing them down? Where will they stop? What's next?

Mouse, that's why I concluded an epic Greek tragedy is unfolding. I conclude that Trump and Giuliani, while flawed, are in fact 'deeply honest' actors, in an epic battle of good against evil. I also have no great confidence they will ultimately prevail, at least not without paying a large price themselves. Therein may lie the unfolding tragedy.

    1. Good stuff, Cass.
"no great confidence they will ultimately prevail, at least not without paying a large price themselves."
I'll bet, those two guys would gladly pay that price, as long as the whole country didn't also pay hugely.
I can easily see the Dem brass emulating Der OberBefehlsHaber, on "a world in flames" (as reported by Speer).
The most vital question may be, will their paymasters (e.g. in Sil. Valley, and on Wall St.), let them go there?
As I've said before, it's a Drama Never Surpassed.

  9. 3/ As a postscript, I would add that in thinking through this response I am reminded that the depravity of the Elites lies not only in their increasingly Leftist, socialist and redistributionist policies, which it has been relatedly pointed out here are rooted in a quest for power, but, more fundamentally, may be clearly seen to be a function of their greed and corruption. As the Biden emails are showing this is not a theoretical or philosophical difference, this is about right and wrong.
