More From Daryl Cooper

Last week Tucker Carlson and President Trump both drew attention to a lengthy Twitter thread (something like 35 tweets?) that purported to explain the thinking of MAGA oriented Americans. Other outlets quickly picked up on it, as well. We referenced the thread in Where America Is, quoting Zerohedge's intro to its republication of the thread:

Darryl Cooper: Why Trump Supporters Are Pissed Off And Don't Trust Anything

As the ruling class went to absurd lengths to try and dismantle Donald Trump, pissed off supporters watched in horror as a captured media peddled lie after lie - typically based on anonymous leaks from deep state bureaucrats, and as  powerful agents within America's intelligence apparatus falsified evidence and collaborated with foreign operatives paid by Trump's political opponents.

In doing so, they exposed themselves to anyone not already paying attention.

Today commenter Frank has linked to a lengthy article that Cooper has written, with an intro by Glenn Greenwald:

Author of the Mega-Viral Thread on MAGA Voters, Darryl Cooper, Explains His Thinking

Tucker Carlson devoted seven minutes of airtime to reading it. Donald Trump heaped praise on it. Why did this Twitter analysis resonate so widely on the right?

As I say, it's very long, but perhaps it will serve a purpose to excerpt Cooper's conclusion. I think we're all capable of airing our grievances and expressing our frustrations with both the direction the country is headed as well as with the behavior of the ruling elite--whether in government, media, or the tech/social media industry. Cooper's conclusion hits on some high points and calls on the Left to take note:

As election day became election night and the tallies rolled in, Trump supporters allowed themselves some hope. But when the four critical swing states (and only those states) went dark around midnight, they knew.

Over the following weeks, they were shuffled around between honest critics, online grifters, and media scam artists selling them conspiracy theories. They latched onto one then another increasingly outlandish theory as they tried to put a concrete name on something very real, of which election day was only the culmination. Media and Big Tech did all they could to make things worse. Everything about the election was strange, confusing, and unprecedented - the changes to procedure, unprecedented mail-in voting, counting delays, etc - but rather than admit that and bring everything into the open, they banned discussion of it (even in private messages!), and launched an absurd propaganda campaign telling us that it was - I’m not making this up - the most well-run and secure election in American history.

Conservatives know - again, I think probably everyone knows - that just as Don Jr.’s laptop would have been the story of the century, if everything about the election dispute was the same, except the parties were reversed, suspicions about the outcome would have been taken very seriously. See 2016 for proof.

Even the judiciary had forfeited its credibility with these voters because of the opposition’s embrace of political violence. Trump supporters say, with good reason: What judge will stick his neck out for Trump knowing he’ll be destroyed in the media as a violent mob burns down his house? Maybe most judges would do their jobs, but given the events of the last four years it’s not an unreasonable concern, and the concern itself is enough to cast the whole system in doubt. Again, we know, thanks to Time Magazine, that riots were planned in cities across the country if Trump had won. Sure, they were “protests”, but they were planned by the same people as during the summer, and everyone knows what it would have meant. The Chamber of Commerce took the threat of a second round of destruction of its members’ property seriously enough to offer its assistance to the “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information” - Time’s words, not mine.

Trump voters were adamant that the governors’ changes to election procedures were unconstitutional. Everything in law is open to interpretation, but it doesn’t require a Harvard Law degree to read Article 1, Section 4 (quoted above) and come to that conclusion. But they also knew the cases wouldn’t see a courtroom until after the election, and what judge was going to make a ruling that would be framed as a judicial coup d’etat just because some governors didn’t go through the proper channels? Even a judge willing to accept the personal risk would have also to be willing to inflict the chaos that would follow on the country. Even a well-intentioned judge could convince himself that, whatever happened or didn’t happen, as a public servant he had no right to impose an opinion guaranteed to lead to mass violence - because the threat was not implied, it was direct. Some Trump supporters, unfortunately, thought the license for political violence applied to everyone; the hundreds of them now sitting in federal jails learned the hard way that it wasn’t true.

From the perspective of Trump’s supporters, the entrenched bureaucracy and security state subverted their populist president from day one. The natural guardrails of the Fourth Estate were removed because the press was part of the operation. Election rules were changed in an unconstitutional manner that could only be challenged after the deed was done, when judges and officials would be playing chicken with a direct threat of burning cities. Political violence was legitimized and encouraged. Major newspapers and sitting presidents were banned from social media, while the opposition enjoyed free rein to promote stories that were discredited once it was too late to matter. Conservatives put these things together and concluded that, whatever happened on November 3, 2020, it was not a free and fair democratic election in any sense that would have had meaning before Donald J. Trump was a candidate.

Trump supporters were led down some rabbit holes. But they are absolutely right that the institutions and power centers of this country have been monopolized by a Regime that believes they are beneath representation, and will observe no limits to prevent them getting it. I encourage people on the Left to recognize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of them. You’re not going to agree with the conservatives on everything. But if in 2004 I had told you that the majority of the GOP voter base would soon be seeing the folly of the Iraq War, becoming skeptical of state surveillance, and beginning to see the need for action to help the poor and working classes, you’d have told me such a thing would transform the country. Take the opportunity. These people are not demons, and they are ready to listen in a way they haven’t in a long, long time.

  1. Where the left “circle the wagons” the right tests your conservatism. Where the left let’s one person speak the party line that everyone else picks up, the right has no such unanimous decree. Perhaps this is the time that critical thinking, valid observations and belief in our history will finally rise to the surface and bring back liberty and justice for all. I sure hope so.

  2. Yeah, great stuff from Cooper, as he tries to open the eyes of sane Lefties.
In the Comments section, check out the debate between Randall Rose, The Anti-Hip, and kaishaku, e.g. about the extent to which opposition to DJT is "grassroots", and about the real basis of the appeal of DJT to Deplorables.

    1. I guess we will find out. I have personally sent a long letter to a lefty friend of 50+ years including a link to Cooper's latest on Substack. I would bet a lot of money that he is going to dismiss it out of hand--even as many of the commenters in martrymade's original Twitter thread did. They picked on meaningless errors* and used them to discount the entire thread. We will never get through to them with words alone.

There have been many books written documenting the truth of Cooper's assertions, but lefties will still say that the dossier did not launch CH but rather it was the PapaD / Downer conversation. It is tedious having to argue each tiny point, which is why I would like to see somebody like Mahncke, Carlson, McIntyre, Smith, Mate, and that corner of Twitter annotate each of Cooper's assertions with links to court docs. It's the only chance of shutting them up.

*Cooper stated in several places that it was state governors who made election process changes when in reality it was secretaries of state, election bureaucrats, state courts, etc.

  3. I think this lends to something I've been saying for a long time... We have no side in this.

It's safe to point out what's going on with words like "elite", "Uniparty", "ruling class" but it is not so safe to simply say neither party is on the conservative side and never has been.

Depending on the subject you will be cheered or jeered.

From my perspective both political parties are neck deep in government expansion and protectionism and their is no exception. Picking a "side" isn't possible if doing a honest moral inventory.

That conversation needs to get more honest and we need to look at state level intervention from the perspectives of open primaries and revoking the A/B choices given.

Conservatives deserve a new party and that party needs to care very little about sending anyone to DC.

I've sent that substack to all the RINOs and Country Club Rs in my life.

    2. Why should I leave the republican party for a new party? Its the RINO's which need to leave. They can go start their own party.

    1. I'll say this: my brother has been a Marxist for the past 25 years and it had gotten to the point where we no longer talked about anything substantive.

Now we're talking. I have admitted to him that he was right to be skeptical about the government, but challenged him to see that it's a bug, not a feature, of our constitution. I've also pressed him on the fact that his Marxism can only serve the kind of uniparty consolidation that we're witnessing between all of the bastions of civil, cultural, and academic power. But at the same time acknowledged that what we are seeing emerge is not truly Marxism but some sort of Capitalist/Marxist fusion, not unlike China but with a role reversal where it's the corporations that run the government.

I'm also taking the opportunity to witness to him again about Jesus Christ. Can't tell yet if he will listen, but it's a rare opportunity before SHTF.

So, no, I'm not being brought around to liberal thinking. But we are talking.

Cooper's point is interesting, but he's missed the fact that the left has seized nearly all of the levers of power, including IC and most LE, and won't be in a mood to talk until they've destroyed everything and become desperate.

    2. LE is a big lot. I wouldn’t assert the left has the LE in general or mostly.

    3. The term you're looking for is Fascism, as described by Mussolini, ol' Adolf's mate:

"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power."

Cooper's point is his appeal to the anti-establishment Left (progressives) to put aside their differences and consider uniting with the anti-establishment Right (MAGA) - against their mutual enemy, the Oligarchy.

  6. I used to think the Twa Flight 800 being shot down by a missile was a crazy conspiracy theory. I thought that way until this morning. Now, after reading an article by Jack Cashill I’m not sure. I find that deeply disturbing.

    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2021/07/twa_800_25_years_of_deep_state_deception.html

So what changed in 20 years?

FBI has been shown to lie.

Deepstate has shown they will make maximum effort to cover embarrassing revelations / scandals. Aswan Brothers, Hunter Biden laptop, spying on Trump, etc.

Federal Bureaucracy has shown its deeply partisan / Democratic. IRS Targeting of tea party, ex intelligence officials quoted as saying Hunter Biden laptop is Russian disinformation, etc.

Media has shown for the Democrats they have a see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil bias / double standard. Stella Dossier, Biden me too issue, Hunter Biden laptop, etc.

Some Leftist Federal Judges have been shown to be deeply biased / ideological. The treatment of Michael Flynn by Judge Sullivan was eye opening. The conviction, even after victory at the Scotus level, of Conrad Black.

Related is how the entire insurrectionist narrative, and the hysteria over any questioning of fraud in the 2020 election.

The US system requires a high trust society to work, and that is being destroyed by the Left taking advantage of this.

    1. Jim Kallstrom, who headed the FBI's investigation of TWA #800, died within the last week. For many in the Bureau he was a bit of a legend. I attended a Bureau presentation on the investigation and recall coming out unconvinced. I claim no expertise on the matter, but the congruence of eyewitness accounts and what at the time seemed like speculative attempts at a technical explanation were troubling.

    2. I wish I could remember the name, but there's a man who gives a convincing presentation that it was shot down by a missile. He said that initially he assumed it was terrorism, but over time has concluded that it was a mistake resulting from a Navy exercise. The cover-up was partly to hide embarrassment but mostly to shield Clinton because it was during the 96 election campaign. If I can track down the video, I'll post a link.

    3. OK, I should have read the AM link first.

Based on his description, I'm sure that it was the AM author (Cashill) that I was thinking of and his "TWA 800: The Crash, The Cover Up, The Conspiracy" presentation at the TWA Museum in Kansas City was the presentation that I remember.

  9. Tucker just had a long segment, on evidence of GA ballot fraud.

From You Know Who today, on Dems vs. the GA audit:
"In an intelligence community controlled operation (ex. General Stanley McCrystal), ideological deplatforming, censorship, content removal and ultimately *control of voices* who would warn of larger issues, continues daily.
[…] “The group, Defeat Disinfo, will use artificial intelligence and network analysis, to map discussion of [opposition] claims on social media....

Let me be very clear… stop and hear the drums… *Something* is about *to happen*. Approximately 100 million American voters are considered *dissidents* now."

    *Something* is about *to happen*.
    Any thoughts?

    1. something is about to happen

Trump smashes Overton Windows left and right. He is not afraid to say the unspeakable. And his constant hammering on the Overton window of the election fraud of 2020, and those that enabled it, is having an impact. The negative is his smashing of an Overton window leaves a mess, with lots of shards.

We are close to a tipping point on the public acceptance there was enough voter fraud that Trump should be President. The Democrats are becoming desperate. And the gop is taking baby steps to address fraud concerns,

The Tucker broadcast on the Ga voter fraud is a significant.

Trump is making news again, the media and tech blackout of him is actually helping him. Soon, he will be seen as the underdog by the majority. And Americans love an underdog.

FBI is further discredited themselves. The memes with Legos are brutal.

The main stream press is becoming more discredited. See ratings / subscriptions for cnn, Atlantic, etc.

The response to Covid, and the continued scare tactics, are being seen as an over reaction. Requiring kids to mask to go back to school. The growth in home schooling by Blacks.

      Inflation is becoming more apparent.

Blm is discrediting themselves. Their honeymoon is over.

Crime is becoming a huge issue. Growth in gun sales and Eric Adam’s election are symptoms of this.

The GOPe is being seen as being anti Trump. The resignation of the Mi Gop leader I think was huge. Trumps backing of primary candidates is huge. The story of how the gop party under Romney’s niece took $220 million to fight fraud, and did nothing, is coming out.

Never Trumpers are losing even more influence in the gop. See Nicki Haley’s pivot from we should move past Trump, to whatever she is doing.

The push against crt is growing.

Trans issue will grow. Elites are pushing it down our throats, and pushback is starting. The decline in cartoon networks audience is an example of this.

Military leadership is being seen as incompetent and political hacks. The navy report is huge.

Increased instability across the world. The bill will come due for the economic impact of Covid in the third world. Food prices will increase. Oil prices are increasing. Harbingers of this are Haiti, Cuba, snd South Africa.

Demand for reparations from China will increase among the electorate. Our elites are against it. Another Overton window, bought and paid for by China…

Democrats are being seen as the oarty of big business and the super rich.

Widespread hatred, by voters of both parties, of big tech, big business, and the super rich.

Trumps lawsuit against big tech is significant. It puts the leftist judicial in a no win situation. Let it go forward and it hurts a huge ally of theirs. Kill it snd it discredits the judiciary as biased, and helps Trumps as the underdog. And will even further motivate Trump voters.

And how much longer can Biden’s cognitive decline be hidden? Will Kamala be allowed to become President?

  11. Ramifications. Nobody can control events. We all intuitively grasp that the cabal revealing itself more and more every day, is made up / run by human beings, fallible, limited, arrogant human beings, who in no uncertain terms will be completely overwhelmed by the ramifications of their meager attempts at exerting control. Time-tested institutions are what have kept things under control, but they are witlessly dismantling those, seemingly unaware that there will be any consequences . God help us one and all. Mark A
