A Tale Of Tweets

For now things are a bit slow. You can read about the unions and their reaction to the orders they're receiving from the Dems at the link below (h/t my Dutch fried). It's a big story but in the end we'll just have to wait and see because we don't really have a say in it--except to continue voicing opposition. The big thing for America--as the Dems seem to increasingly understand--is to get to free elections in 2022. That's the clock the Dems are racing against now. They're flailing, looking for something that will head of that sort of catastrophe. It's a trial and error process for them and they're willing to try just about anything:

Biden's talk of vaccine mandates sends labor into disarray

AFL-CIO’s Trumka said he supported it. But other unions don’t and they’ve let the White House know it.

As the Biden White House weighs vaccine mandates for businesses and the federal workforce, some of its firmest outside allies are bristling at the idea.

A steep divide has emerged among labor unions — as well as between members and leaders — over whether to require workers to be vaccinated.

On Tuesday, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said he would support a mandate, giving a boost to White House efforts to increase vaccination rates after they stagnated in recent weeks. But Trumka’s position was at odds with some of the AFL-CIO's largest members, including the American Federation of Teachers, whose president said that vaccine protocols should be decided at individual workplaces. Other unions have also voiced opposition.

I think the descent of "science" into unreasoning ideology is one of the things that has most shocked educated people. But, really, when you think about it--why would we expect doctors and scientists to be any more dedicated to Truth than, say, judges and lawyers and legislators are to Justice?

I was among those who believed that the natural and other empirical sciences would have a strong immunity to being corrupted by ideology, be it of the right or left. For anyone who's been watching the Western world's progression into the Heart of Darkness, this can't be all that much of a surprise. The trick is, don't follow the "science". As Malone says, we now know that that changes from one day to the next. Get out ahead of it and fight the fight for Truth instead of just reacting. That's a losing proposition. Converting yourself and others is the only strategy. Here's a guy who seems to get it:

The progression into that Heart of Darkness started with the philosophical dissolution of the late Middle Ages into voluntarism and nominalism--still the basis for the modern world. That was the basis for the politics that gave birth to the modern West, in the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, Marxism and its progeny, and now the Neo-gnostic Progs. We're getting close to the end point, and the guy in the last tweet saw it coming:
