George Parry Weighs In On The Floyd Toxicology Report

I'd like to draw attention to this excellent article:

Minnesota v. Derek Chauvin et al: The Prosecution’s Dirty Little Secret
Medical examiner’s memorandum on Floyd’s toxicology report proves cause of death to be drug overdose, not murder.

Many of you may be familiar with Parry, but it bears repeating:

George Parry is a former federal and state prosecutor. From 1978 to 1983 he was Chief of the Police Brutality/Misconduct Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, which investigated and prosecuted use of deadly force by police. He blogs at knowledgeisgood.net and may be reached by email at kignet1@gmail.com.

He actually knows what he's talking about and has a lot of experience in the specific area of police use of force.

In the first part of the article Parry cuts through the chaff and comes to the obvious conclusion. It's worth reading through, once again. Then he concludes by listing the legal issues that arise from the unpardonable hiding of the documents in this case from the public:

It is quite telling that this explosively exculpatory June 1 memorandum was not released by the prosecution until August 25, 2020. All of which prompts these questions:
First, why did the prosecution wait three months to release this memorandum?
Second, if the prosecution had released this information in a timely fashion, would that have helped to quell the anti-police outrage that has fueled the nationwide orgy of rioting and looting?
Third, in light of Floyd’s toxicology results and the medical examiner’s assessment that Floyd’s fentanyl overdose caused him to essentially drown in his own bodily fluid, why haven’t the charges against all of the police defendants been dropped?
The handwriting is on the wall. Through all of the rioting, looting, and burning, the prosecution has kept secret its knowledge that George Floyd died as the result of a self-administered overdose of fentanyl. The Chief Medical Examiner of Hennepin County said as much way back on May 31, 2020.
But, now that the truth has finally emerged, it’s well past time to call a halt to this illegal and unfounded “murder” case and to let these wrongfully accused men go free.

This has always been nothing other than a politically motivated frame up of innocent police officers who were doing their jobs to the best of their ability. What it all says about America--about the Left and their complicit media enablers--at this juncture is deeply troubling.

  1. Thank you for your attention to this case. Sadly, I doubt the truth will change a thing. These police officers are ruined, career wise, and at least one of them will probably go to jail. It's all politics from here on out.

I'm sure you noticed that the young desperado, who did in fact kill two men in Kenosha, was charged with first degree homicide. I'm not sure they charged the DC snipers with that level of crime.

SWC has a piece in which he raises the self-defense issue. I have no idea. But I'm tired of prosecutors, in Florida, Baltimore, Minneapolis and who knows where else, using a political calculus in charging people.

    1. The young man in Kenosha who shot and killed two and wounded one may have been part of the citizen militia recruited online by a Kenosha Guard organization. A militia. They were recruited to come and protect Kenosha’s target areas from the arsonists and looters. Supposedly 3,000 responded (according to the organizer).

SWC’s article is excellent. He includes a long video (and provides the important cue point), which he believes shows that one “victim” was vandalizing cars and could have been involved in torching cars, while the “shooter” was trying to protect property and was set upon by the mob of protesters/rioters, including the “victim” that the “shooter” subsequently shot and killed.

We do not believe in vigilante justice, but what is going on in our country, seemingly without end, has prompted many to take matters into their own hands.

SWC’s article is here. Judge for yourselves.

    2. PS. I don’t believe the young Kenosha shooter has been charged with anything. He was arrested in Illinois as a “fugitive from justice”. The first degree (intentional) homicide charge in Wisconsin has been mentioned as a possibility. He is 17. He will be charged as an adult per their law.

    3. Yep, I read that. When LE gets politicized, then you're begging citizens to defend themselves.

    4. Even the young ones, Mark. From the Milwaukee paper:

Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with shooting three people — two of them fatally — during a Kenosha protest Tuesday night, considered himself a militia member trying to protect life and property, according to videos, interviews and social media posts.

Video recorded in the hours before the shooting shows Rittenhouse hanging out with older armed men who say they're protecting a car lot. Rittenhouse, of Antioch, Illinois, also did a video interview with the Daily Caller in front of a boarded up building.

"People are getting injured and our job is to protect this business," Rittenhouse says in the clip. "And my job also is to protect people. If someone is hurt, I’m running into harm’s way. That’s why I have my rifle; I’ve gotta' protect myself, obviously. But I also have my med kit.”

Open carry - including long guns - is legal in Wisconsin.

    5. At 17 he was not of age to own a long gun in IL, nor in WI. We'll be learning more about his family, soon enough. But this is on the politicians. If they let the police maintain order this doesn't happen.

    6. I expect there to be a constitutional challenge to that law as part of any defense.

  2. And what of the other body cams footage?

And did Jacob Blake have a gun in his car? Or a knife on him.

    1. Admitted he was armed with knife. Knife found afterward on driver's side floor.

      Just reported.

    2. A man shot by a Kenosha police officer admitted he had a knife in his possession, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

According to a preliminary report from the DOJ, a woman called police Sunday evening saying her boyfriend was there and wasn’t supposed to be on the premises. After police responded to the call they tried to arrest Jacob Blake. One officer used a Taser but it didn’t stop Blake, who is seen on a bystander’s video walking away from officers and leaning into his SUV when he was shot by an officer from behind.

The DOJ identified the officer as Rusten Sheskey, a member of the Kenosha Police Department for seven years. It says he fired his service weapon seven times while grabbing Blake by the shirt. No other officers fired a weapon

The DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation is handling the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. DCI agents found a knife on the driver’s side floor of Blake’s SUV and no other weapons.

Someone videoing the episode said he didn’t see a knife. Blake apparently made for the SUV so that he could pitch it int the vehicle. Domestic violence. LE friends have told us that they hate it. Dangerous for the police…

  4. I just submitted this article to the opinion page editors of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Time will tell if they have the guts to write about it.

  5. They had to let the mayhem proceed. Once the lie has been told so many times, it cannot be untold. Withholding the information was deliberate. It would be fitting if the cops could sue for malicious prosecution and violation of the cops' civil rights.

  6. Could pressure have come from Minnesota AG Ellison? (Is that a naive question?) :)

  7. Since there's no Kenosha post, here's a very interesting AmThinker article. Libertarians. The stupid people:

    1. According to this article, there were a number of militias forming and calling out online for recruits to go to Kenosha, but this article goes on to say that there was no evidence that Rittenhouse had been with any of the groups. (In one other article he was quoted as believing he was part of a militia.)

  8. "Libertarians. The stupid people:"

If by that, you're referring to what Baker writes at article's end ("guns did, and every American should know it."), perhaps you'll agree with Zman's post of today, which says:

"If you are white, the system sees you as an enemy, and will spare no expense in attacking you. The reason Kyle Rittenhouse sits in jail is, no one told him this. Instead, internet warriors *playing tough guy* on-line encouraged him to be a man of action."

Yeah, to be a man of action, in a town run by white-hating Leftists.
Those who would "take action" vs. the Left, had better start reconnoitering battlefields, before charging forth like the Light Brigade.
For starters, before I engage Lefties, I ensure that I've lined-up *at least* one friendly, street-wise *witness* (toting a vid/ audio device).

  9. It appears to me, from an admittedly naive distance, that we have laptop commandos who post heated stuff about how they are going to lock and load and hit the street, doing whatever it takes. They regularly give the impression (truthful or not) that they are tired of conventional law and order and are ready to take to the streets, to do whatever it takes. Inciting? And then there are those who get fired up by the rhetoric and decide that’s what they want to do, so they do it. This kid has to be Exhibit A. He has already been labeled a “white supremacist” in one media report, and it is just a hop and a skip from that to the “right” to Conservative Republicans and President Trump.

Does any of this activity achieve anything? I’m not seeing it. We need the police to take action. The National Guard. Professional LE, not amateurs with overheated heads...

  10. The answer to your questions is Keith Ellison. Ellison is a major figure in the DNC, indeed he was the "deputy chairman" for the DNC before he ran for DA. He was assigned as the chief prosecutor in control of the George Floyd cases.

He is the one, undoubtedly on behalf of the Democrat party, who concealed the officer bodycams until they were illegally leaked. This gave the riots a month to really get going.

He is also the one who concealed this report, too.

We've seen DA's who DON'T want their cities burned to the ground release bodycam footage in order to nip the riots in the bud. That Ellison chose to do the opposite suggests that the opposite of bud-nipping is exactly what he desired. His central role in the Democratic National Party suggests that the opposite of bud-nipping is what they desired, as well.
