How's This For A Concept: Let's Block The Sun To Prevent Global Warming!

No, I'm not kidding or spoofing--but I'm all written out for this Saturday before Easter so I'll just link to the article at Zerohedge and provide a few excerpts to induce people to follow the link. The big point is: These are the kinds of nutjobs who have incredible influence over our nominal ruling elite:

Sweden Scraps Bill Gates' Geoengineering Plot To Block The Sun

An effort to dim the sun to stop global warming has been scrapped by the Swedish Space Agency, who announced that the program, funded by Bill Gates, has ‘divided the scientific community’ and will therefore not be carried out.

...

The Gates funded idea would have seen the release of calcium carbonate, essentially chalk dust, into the atmosphere from a high-altitude balloon to observe the effect it has on sunlight reaching the planet surface.

The ultimate goal of the study was to reduce the temperature on the planet in an effort to stave off global warming.

However, not surprisingly, the notion of blocking out the Sun proved somewhat unpopular, with environmental groups warning of potential “catastrophic consequences.”

The Saami Council, an advocate group for Sweden’s indigenous population, warned that the Gates experiment “essentially attempts to mimic volcanic eruptions by continuously spewing the sky with sun-dimming particles.”

...

Essentially, the whole idea comes off as a weird vampirish effort to starve the planet of sunlight, the driver of all life, with little scientific logic behind it at all.

Bill Gates, who is flogging a book about climate change, has poured millions into geoengineerng, funnelling at least $4.6 million to the lead researcher on SCoPEx, Harvard applied physics scientist David Keith.

Gates has repeatedly lauded the notion of dimming the Sun, ...

Universal year round vaxxing too small a concept? Global Reset, anyone?

  1. Pharaohs of Egypt claimed they were gods and without them sun wouldn't rise.

Gates wants to block the sun with a device, probably with the ability to selectively allow countries / geographies who pay their fair share of carbon tax. And use it as a weapon to control humanity.

    Same mindset.

    1. Cf. King Canute...who Gates could learn something from.

  2. Gates statement reminds me of George Orwell statement to the effect. "That idea is so foolish only an intellectual could believe it."

  3. Gates - nebbishy nerd that he is, albeit a dangerous one - has morphed into a Bond villian.

  6. Who knew Sweden had a space agency?

    1. I suppose the fact that they took this college dropout seriously--even for a while--tells you something about their space agency.

  7. Yes, particulates in the air can cause cooling. So, uhh, why don’t we go back to burning dirty coal, leaded gas, wood burning fireplaces (that’s you California), and anything else that puts stuff in the air.

Oh, he means his way is safer. I guess he forgot the global cooling scare when he was in Hawhvud.

Yes, climate change is real, it changes all the time on timelines that is beyond our imaginations. Yes, we still have a high CO2 level relatively, but even at it’s highest long ago, we had ice ages and it was still a trace gas and no huumahn caused it.

Psst ... if we could survive a massive worldwide flood, Noah’s Ark, then we can survive anything and, besides, that was probably a regional event that got mythologized.

Venice is sinking and has not a thing to do with climate change. By the time we might be Pangea again, the human race will be gone or in some distorted form in space or on other planets and extremely higher than likely controlled by totalitarian arsehats.

  8. I'll bet that "vaxxing to small a concept?" was meant as
    "vaxxing TOO small a concept?"

  9. Gates' plan to block out the sun to combat global wapmgmg is self-inimical to Gates' plan for a solar-powered world. That's like throwing yourself into the gym locker, no middleman bully required!

  10. I read the book, even though I regard Bill Gates, like his pal Soros, as a threat to civilization. Whoever did the research behind the book did a good job. I found Gates's description of how we farm, make cement, use oil, gas, hydro, solar, wind, make steel, etc., unobjectionable and accurate. Stating the case isn't where Mr. Gates goes off the rails.

His assumptions are wrong. He believes every word coming out of the totally corrupt UNIPCC. He accepts the idea that CO2 is the climate control knob, something Richard Lindzen calls magical thinking. Also, every once in a while Gates works in a stupid aside (coral reefs, veggie burgers, meat burgers produced in a lab) that reveals the game.

His solutions are sheer madness, in and of themselves, but mostly because there is no problem (climate change) in need of solving. It all goes back to Maurice Strong, who was probably a friend of Gates.

What Gates says about nuclear, we need it, and batteries, he's all in on them, but is honest about the current scientific and technological state of affairs, is spot-on. He thinks we can solve the battery problem. I don't. Batteries have a huge downside, even if they work as well as Gates dreams they could.

The danger in his book is that people will take the accurate parts as a jumping off point for the sheer lunacy of what else he's peddling.

    Sorry to gas on so.

  11. Wouldn't it be easier just to fire up a couple of small volcanoes - just drop a few bombs in - should create a lot of ash and stuff that could be moved around /sarc

  13. Gates is not stupid, he understands the issues of higher temps and CO2 turning deserts and the arctic greener. This leads to better crop production which leads to better food supply and in return higher populations.

These guys are not inherently wrong on over population. Our population numbers are a lot of the problem and struggling we see in politics in this country. However there is nothing to be gained by burying eugenics into a wrapper of "humanity" is wrong no matter how you slice it.

The Piri Reis maps tell us the Arctic coastlines have been completely devoid of ice before. Science doesn't like that because it doesn't fit their historical narratives but when it's slapping you in the face it becomes hard to ignore. Suck it up and deal with the fact were not as smart as we believe.
