UK Reverses Position Re Huawei Tech In 5G Networks

That's what the WSJ is reporting, in what looks like a significant victory for Trump's foreign policy.

The British government said it would bar telecom companies from purchasing new equipment made by China’s Huawei Technologies Co. and gave them until 2027 to remove its technology from their 5G networks, a sharp about-face that marks a significant victory for the U.S.
The decision follows new U.S. restrictions on the sale of Huawei computer chips and comes amid a broader deterioration of relations between the U.K. and China, most recently relating to China’s imposition of a new security law over the former British colony of Hong Kong.
...
The move comes as U.S. pressure builds on European governments to shut Huawei out of their 5G networks. Senior U.S. officials, led by U.S. national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, and his counterparts from Italy, Germany, France and the U.K. are meeting in Paris this week.

It's also a big victory for US national security as well as for solidarity in the West.

  1. Weinstein, like Weiss, don't understand the game the woke-left is engaging in--it's power domination politics. It's not a liberal dialectic where the politics are hammered out by consensual agreement after an open and frank discussion.

Those I refer to as old-fashion liberals were first eaten alive by the prog-left, now the prog-left are being eaten alive by the woke-left. Democrats have moved to the communist/fascist far left (racial-determinism/racial-essentialism), having been taken over by the BLM and Antifa Marxists.

Weinstein and Weiss throw out these lifelines hoping someone, anyone liberal will grab on and rescue them--but there are few remaining. Life-long liberal stalwart Alan Dershowitz sounds like a conservative these days, compared to the far-left loonies in charge of Democrats.

    1. Yes - it's just gang warfare. Like junior high school with the adolescents in charge.

    2. Junior high, or kindergarten?
A vivid analogy from Chris Wetherell, one of the engineers who created the Retweet button, when describing his retweet tool: “We might have just handed a 4-year-old a *loaded* weapon.”
