Is Bezos Trying To Mend Fences With Trump?

How else do you explain the Bezos Post running with this story:
Mike Bloomberg for years has battled women’sallegations of profane, sexist comments

Just one example of Mini MIke's level of class that the article offers:

Several lawsuits have been filed over the years alleging that women were discriminated against at Bloomberg’s business-information company, including a case brought by a federal agency and one filed by a former employee, who blamed Bloomberg for creating a culture of sexual harassment and degradation.
The most high-profile case was from a former saleswoman. She sued Bloomberg personally as well as his company, alleging workplace discrimination. She alleged Bloomberg told her to “kill it” when he learned she was pregnant. Bloomberg has denied her allegation under oath, and he reached a confidential settlement with the saleswoman.
The Washington Post interviewed a former Bloomberg employee, David Zielenziger, who said he witnessed the conversation with the saleswoman. Zielenziger, who said he had not previously spoken publicly about the matter, said Bloomberg’s behavior toward the woman was “outrageous. I understood why she took offense.”

Well, here's another example:

Garrison alleged that Bloomberg berated female employees who got pregnant. “What the hell did you do a thing like that for?” Bloomberg allegedly told one pregnant employee. On another occasion, the lawsuit said, Bloomberg berated a female employee who had trouble finding a nanny. “It’s a f------ baby! . . . All you need is some black who doesn’t have to speak English to rescue it from a burning building.”

Anyone else get the impression that this won't help Mini Mike's presidential aspirations?

Since, as the article says, this has been going on for years, the article is commensurately lengthy.

  1. When rumors of Bloomberg's entry were circulating, I wondered about how long it would take for this past behavior and reputation to surface. Bloomberg imported the randy trading floor atmospherics of Solomon Brothers/Wall St to Bloomberg LP--and why not. All its customers were Wall St--you gotta be "one of the boys" to fit in. No sense being a "girlie" media company--that wouldn't fly. It's strictly a take-no-prisoners attitude. That's how wars are won.

  2. Bloomberg News is a competitor to the Washington Post, and for virtue signaling this type of story is gold.

  3. The War of the Mini-Titans…. Neither Bezos nor Bloomberg impresses… Still, I imagine PDJT doesn’t mind the Bezos Post dirtying up Bloomie a bit...

  4. OTOH, bring up Bloomy's alleged bad behavior opens the door for Bloomy and others to dredge back up reports of Trump's less than flattering interactions with women.

And, let's not be naive about this; after a fabricated Impeachment process launched by Dems who have no other way to destroy Trump in the upcoming election campaign, is there anyone out there who does see a series of "offended/abused women" allegations being unleashed on Trump just before the election? Fabricated or not, you just know the Dems can't resist that sort of smear on a GOP opponent, especially when the sycophantic drooling MSM is willing to amplify the story and say idiotic things like: "Well, Trump hasn't proven it DIDN'T happen...".

So, I see this as a two-edged sword, and if Bloomy is prepared to knock these stories down quickly and effectively, they'll do little harm to him, especially with the Left.

    1. I think the dynamics of Mini Mike seeking the Dem nomination are different than Trump's.

    2. Those concerned about dredging up old stuff about Trump should remember the long list of Trump’s accomplishments during the last three years - many of them campaign promises kept. Bloomberg has nothing to compare with that. Nor does any one of the others. Bloomberg’s styrofoam ban and ban of Big Gulp soft drinks will just not cut it...

    3. Well, there's a certain been-there-done-that in dredging up stories of women entangled with Trump. The people who feed on that aren't voting for Trump, while Trump supporters have yet to see any of those lead balloons fly.

Bloomberg, OTH, has to pass muster with the PC/SJW brigades on the Left who need their candidates to have the appearance of "pure as the driven snow," despite the cardinal sins of Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, John Edwards, etc. No need to scream "hypocrisy" at the Dems, they'll organize the circular firing squad on their own...

Remember, candidate Bill Clinton had his very own Bimbo Eruption detail headed by Betsy Wright. Despite that, Bill Clinton carried on his liaison with Monica Lewinsky in the WH. Shall we say that was a breach of propriety far greater than anything Trump been accused.

  5. Another possibility, even if remote, is that Bezos attacks Bloomy to help, not DJT, but one of the other Dem candidates.
