Briefly Noted: China Won, But Who Won Georgia?

I'm heading out to give blood soon, but here are two good reads I noticed this morning.

The first is Conrad Black offering his big picture view of who won the Covid Panic. His answer is simple: China won. They were ruthless and opportunistic:

China Is the Big Winner from Our COVID Hysteria

China has won this round so completely that the administration is visibly dazed, and is lashing out at the wrong opponents.

Excerpts:

It must be said that the speed and discretion with which the Chinese government moved to protect its own population while effectively promoting the COVID-19 contagion to the world--and then denying that anything of the kind took place while proclaiming that its authoritarian administrative methods were demonstrably superior to those of the West in combating the pandemic--was a remarkable, if cynical, tour de force. China’s cool-headed shift from domestic containment of the virus to unctuous and barely contained rejoicing at their success in promoting political chaos and economic disaster throughout the West was a textbook case for how to turn misfortune into comparative triumph (for those countries prepared to dispense so cavalierly with the normal civilities and ethics of international affairs).

...

Once the Democrats got a glimpse of the proportions of the pandemic and had heard the more prominent members of the scientific community calling for a lockdown, they instantly saw their chance to transform what was, after the first impeachment trial of President Trump in March of last year, the high likelihood of his reelection, into a means to regain the White House.

The customary response to national disasters: a bipartisan bracing determination to see it through under the general tocsin of ”We are all in this together,” lasted for approximately a week ...

...

The Democrats and their allies who comprised 95 percent of the national political media and effectively made the campaign on behalf of the absent Democratic candidate, did everything possible to promote hysteria about COVID-19, and to accuse the president of a primitive antagonism to science that amounted to criminally negligent philistinism. ...

The first media personality who saw what was coming (and was fired for her foresight) was Fox News reporter Trish Regan, who correctly predicted that the Democrats would use the generation of public hysteria over COVID-19 as their replacement for the Trump-Russia collusion hoax and the spurious impeachment case.

Just a nice recap.

Next, Paul Sperry--permanently banned from Twitter--has a long and very informative account of what's currently going on in Georgia. It turns out the Left is pretty ruthless all around the world:

Why a Judge Has Georgia Vote Fraud on His Mind: ‘Pristine’ Biden Ballots That Looked Xeroxed

The title tells the story, but ... oh, interestingly, the judge who's ordering the ballots unsealed is a known donor to Dems. That complicates the narrative.

When Fulton County, Ga., poll manager Suzi Voyles sorted through a large stack of mail-in ballots last November, she noticed an alarmingly odd pattern of uniformity in the markings for Joseph R. Biden. One after another, the absentee votes contained perfectly filled-in ovals for Biden — except that each of the darkened bubbles featured an identical white void inside them in the shape of a tiny crescent, indicating they'd been marked with toner ink instead of a pen or pencil.

Adding to suspicions, she noticed that all of the ballots were printed on different stock paper than the others she handled as part of a statewide hand recount of the razor-thin Nov. 3 presidential election. And none was folded or creased, as she typically observed in mail-in ballots that had been removed from envelopes.

In short, the Biden votes looked like they’d been duplicated by a copying machine.

“All of them were strangely pristine," said Voyles, who said she’d never seen anything like it in her 20 years monitoring elections in Fulton County, which includes much of Atlanta.

...

On Nov. 3, Fulton County elections officials informed monitors that they were shutting down the State Farm tabulation center before midnight, only to continue counting throughout the night while no one was watching.

“Election workers don’t bring ballots in after the supervisor has delayed processing until the morning, hide them under a table and then bring them out for scanning and tabulation after the supervisor tells [monitors] they are done scanning for the evening and they go home,” Favorito said.

“Once scanning [was] completed, an election line feed showed an unprecedented vote spike that turned the election in favor of Biden,” he added. In fact, “just over a half hour after workers scanned the potentially fraudulent ballots, an election line feed showed a 100,000-plus vote spike for Biden.”

“Where did those ballots come from and why did they handle them so suspiciously?” Favorito asked.

Voyles noted that the county elections supervisor who oversaw the secret scanning of the cases full of ballots also helps run the warehouse where the suspect ballots are being stored.

...

Favorito pointed out that the potential for counterfeit ballots exists in other Georgia counties, not just Fulton.

In fact, two Democrat poll workers blew the whistle on similar anomalies they witnessed in neighboring DeKalb and Cobb counties, where the election process also is controlled by Democrats.

The article is much, much longer, but very accessible. It follows a nice story line, easy to digest.

And now for a different point of view:

  1. I've commented before on the GA judge overseeing the ballot case. Just based on the local media reports, he seems willing to give the 'government' the benefit of the doubt and a lot of breaks, but when push comes to shove, he's generally followed the facts. By the delays and being open to letting the 'government' control the ballots, he's still giving them a lot of breaks other judges may not. However, he still is willing to look at the evidence and follow the actual trail once it's apparent to him and can't be explained away. Basically, he's doing a good job, given that he really doesn't seem to want to be the one to open the chicken coop to find nothing but foxes...but who does? It will be interesting to see where it leads.

  2. Speaking of China and Georgia, Joseph Hippolito wrote the following in Front Page magazine (unsure of date but a few months ago):

USA Today streamed a video of election workers in Atlanta sorting ballots. One worker took a large mailing envelope and put it aside unopened. A Chinese site played that video and noticed the insignia for SF Express on the envelope.

SF Express is a Chinese version of UPS. It is China’s largest privately owned currier and ships freight from China to other Asian countries, Europe and the United States.

The translation of the Chinese text accompanying the video says, “SF International Customer Service stated that SF Express can only ship from China to the United States and does not currently support receiving and sending within the United States.”

    1. I saw that video. Looked like only a single ballot. It means somebody in China used SF Express to mail their ballot. That seems completely normal if you're an American stuck in China for whatever reason and you want to vote. Better than putting your American ballot with English markings in a Chinese mailbox.

  3. Any story involving a "judge" can be bitter sweet.

FWIW... There are so many times I see individuals getting trashed (Antrim County PA comes to mind) where a judge limited by position and confined by law is simply beat to death by public opinion. Antrim was a good case of that where a local circuit court judge let discovery run out WAY WAY beyond the questions in front of him. Giving the pro audit movement hoards of ammo and fact. But then got beat to death in the court of public opinion for not giving continuance in a case he could legally allow to go no further under his limited title.

In learning to toss my partisanship and expanding my brain to the bigger picture... narratives vs reality give a very different view.

Sometimes conservatives need to give pause before just beating the gifted horse.

  4. These two actions surprised me…

A usaf plane landed moderna vaccine in Taiwan from Korea. It’s the first marked us military aircraft to land in Taiwan in decades. Before then markings would be covered.

    2. A group of 3 us Senators visited Taiwan. Democratic Senators Chris Coons and Tammy Duckworth, and Republican Senator Dan Sullivan.

    1. Hmmm... so which version of reality does this fit into? That's the question I keep asking whenever I take in news.

A Zerohedge article was shared a week or so ago that posited a reality where it is the EU/Davos/WEF cabal that is actually driving thongs here-- i.e. the real power and boss behind Chairman Zhou and the US Oligarchs. In this view, a war between the US and China (and Russia if possible) would be ideal as it would weaken all three and leave the cabal as the last man standing, so to speak. The Great Reset as dictated by the EU cabal.

So the flight to Taiwan and visit by US politicians fits that reality as it tends to enrage China. Same with Zhou's sanctions on CCP and at least lip service to an investigation into virus origins.

I guess what I'm getting at is that these events don't make sense if Zhou is a CCP puppet and CCP is the driver of events. Maybe the CCP is not as influential as we suppose.

Same thing with Zhou and Nordstream pipeline. Why is that being greenlit? Cui bono? The EU and Russia. Same with the cancellation of XL pipeline.

If we stop and reexamine what we think we know about events using a different lens, it's amazing what different images emerge. I admit it's extremely difficult to know which is right but when puzzle pieces (like the Taiwan stories you mention) don't fit, maybe the puzzle is not what we assumed it to be.
