Be Very Afraid

So says, in effect, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They want you to be very afraid of your fellow Americans, any number of whom DHS suspects may be domestic terrorists. Even though DHS admits that "DHS does not have any information to indicate a specific, credible plot."

DHS Issues a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin

Release Date:

January 27, 2021

WASHINGTON – The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security has issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin today after consultation with the intelligence community and law enforcement partners. There is currently a heightened threat environment across the United States that is likely to persist over the coming weeks. DHS does not have any information to indicate a specific, credible plot; however, violent riots have continued in recent days and we remain concerned that individuals frustrated with the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances and ideological causes fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize a broad range of ideologically-motivated actors to incite or commit violence.

You can read the NTAS Bulletin here.

Now, I ask you: Are you aware of "violent riots [that] have continued in recent days"? I am. I know that violent riots have continued to occur in Portland and Seattle and a few other places. To my knowledge, every single one of these were Leftist--basically, Antifa--incited.

Next question: Does Antifa fit the profile above? Individuals frustrated with the ... presidential transition? I've certainly never heard that that was part of Antifa ideology. Why then are we being warned about people who perceive a grievance related to the "presidential transition"?

As for DHS' consultation with "the intelligence community and law enforcement partners" I'm guessing that if you substitute "FBI" for that phrase it'll be close enough for government work.

In the meantime stay alert. Be very afraid. And don't hold your breath waiting for "any information to indicate a specific, credible plot."

  1. Also don't hold your breath waiting for the "heightened threat environment" to be relaxed - ever. I expect this to be Orwell's Eastasia endless war, or the the Bolshevik never ending pursuit of "counter-revolutionaries" (Art. 58, sect. 1); those giving "aid to the international bourgeoisie", i.e. MAGA, Tea Party, BRIXIT, any European political party to the right of Che Guevara, Israel, Free Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc. (Art. 58, sect. 4); and "failure to make a denunciation" (Art. 58, sect. 12).

    1. What the hell are they doing?

"They" are following the Communist playbook almost to the letter.

Lets not fool ourselves- we know exactly* what is next.

There are over 100 million dead scattered across the last 80 years who watched the same series of events unfold in front of them as we are watching now.

  3. All the clowns in DC have no idea what hell they are creating. There is not the slightest possibilty you can take the United States of America and turn it into anything else by design. If they think they are at all in control of events such that they can effect a "reset" they are deluding themselves very mightily. Trump has pulled away their curtain but they keep behaving as if we can't see them behaving so poorly. They are inadequate to the task. And their inadequacy dooms us all.

This is the most telling part.

    1. They'll tell you what the false and true narratives are. You can trust them.

  5. This only tells me that they still have not finished the purges inside the bowels of the state apparatus, so they feel threatened.

Once they believe they are in full control, then the real festivities begin.

  6. The establishment intelligence agencies have been pushing the white supremacy angle for the entire term of President Trump. That’s all Chris Wray has ever mentioned. To me that is a dead giveaway it’s BS. FBI is the same group that we know spied on the Trump administration for at least 5 years.

    1. It actually goes back quite a bit further than that. You can see it in the Ruby Ridge and Waco affairs.

This makes so much sense. As I suggested here a few weeks ago, there is an opportunity for the States to take on Big Tech censorship and other abuses with legal impediments and sanctions, and now Florida is stepping up to the plate.

I'm sure the DeSantis plan will provoke substantial opposition, but I'll be rooting for it.

  8. re the different fears that Red Americans vs Blue Americans have:

    from Peter Turchin

"Blue Americans cannot bear thought of four more years of Trump, his desecration of the values that made America a beacon to the world, his bullying and lies, his undermining of the norms and institutions that make America work, his contempt for European allies, and his kowtowing to foreign dictators. They fear that Trump will use false claims of election fraud and the post-election social unrest to engineer a military coup, in which he would set himself up as dictator, and abolish free press and American democracy."

"Red Americans fear a Biden administration that will open borders to massive immigration, encourage looting and property destruction by BLM and antifa rioters, take away their guns, increase their taxes, and end the oil and gas industry in America. Many see Biden as the senile figurehead for the global cabal of Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and child-sex predators that include prominent Democrats, Hollywood elites, and deep state allies, whose aim is to establish an unelected “liberal dictatorship” that would abolish freedom of speech and American democracy."

Isn`t it odd that all the fears of Blue Americans are either lies or imaginary fears?

And all the Red Americans`fears are real and justified?

Where do all the lies and imaginary fears come from?

    Hoax media.

    1. It's a central part of being a liberal--you must have someone to despise, to look down upon. There's no point otherwise in being a liberal.

      Delete
    2. Mr Wauck - that’s just it; they not “liberal” but rather illiberal. Being “liberal” denotes you’re open to other opinions, these leftists are not. They don’t paraphrase (allegedly) Voltaire (“I disagree with what you say but will defend to death your right to say it”) anymore but rather dox/cancel/eliminate you from the public square. Nothing “liberal” about that.

As David Horowitz famously quipped, “Scratch a liberal, get a fascist.”

    3. I see the idea ("you must have someone to despise") as an exaggeration, tho it likely applies to the majority, esp. to the most powerful of them.
But, the emergence of the IDW quite suggests, that some liberals are starting to see thru the attitudes you describe.

    5. @Mark A

I've just watched The Left Can't See. The Right Can't Speak, the YouTube video you linked above.

Yes, it is brilliant, and well worth the 38 minute watch.

There is a lot to say about it, but rather than try to summarize the narrator's thesis, I'll just second your recommendation to watch it.

One observation: It is tempting, very tempting, during these dark hours, for liberals to blame Trump...for our national dysphoria. As if Donald Trump, by force of his personality and ideology, has caused 75 million Americans (likely a far greater number) to reject the Globalist vision and distrust the Elites and the Davos Man and the Deep State.

As if James Comey and John Brennan and Adam Schiff and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (and Stacey Abrams and Maxine Waters and Eric Swalwell) are actually virtuous model citizens and leaders who Trump has inveigled conservative, white, middle class Christian Americans (Deplorables) to despise.

This video reminded me that the root causes of the huge gulf all Americans find ourselves on opposite sides of today were not invented by Donald Trump when he floated down the escalator, or ginned up by Fox News to brainwash an intellectually inferior substratum of American "losers" not smart enough to have gone to Harvard or live in Megalopolis or work for Big Tech.

No, this gulf is as fundamental as the differences between the visions of American life (and human existence) discussed in the video Mark A links above. Donald Trump is merely the messenger who reminds us where we really are, what is really happening to us, and where we need to go.

But its much bigger than just 'politics'.

    6. I did finally watch the video movies review. And found it interesting and evocative. It really raises the question, What does liberal ideology do for its adherents, its true believers. Presumably it gives meaning to their lives, lived in a history that would be otherwise meaningless, since they reject the traditional understandings that give human existence meaning.

    1. I'm really not sure what to make of Byrne.

      Delete
    2. Byrne seems to want to be in the middle of everything and in some ways creditably has.

His claims to taking out Mariia Butina definitely hold water, however I question him on how much of a wannabe James Bond whom enabled her into being the "spy" she became vs how much of a spy she was.

If his claims to Clinton and bribery are true I'd be impressed.

But what bothers me so much about his it all is his refusal to name names in any of those situations.

If I had been duped as he claims by FBI agent one two and three you could get your life I would have been at the top of my lungs about it, with names across the board.

If I was so put off by the so called 2016 Russiagate saga and Clinton as he claims I also would have been at the top of my lungs about it. THEN, not 4 years later.

Actions like that are not ones which I relate to as to being honest or well intended.

    3. I can accept him withholding names on the belief that the Durham investigation was serious and had the potential to inject new life into the rule of law. If he was in the thick of things as he claims, then that info could have muddied the investigation.

Now that we know that the investigation was bogus, it would be nice if he would start filling in all the blanks.

  11. Do you, Mark, have any idea what is going on with the rank and file at DHS or the FBI? Are they with Wray and Comey and Biden? Or is there some dissatisfaction within the ranks? The FBI, all the way down to the mail room, seemed to go after the Capitol "rioters" with the kind of zeal usually reserved for chasing Al Capone.

If the rank and file are "believers," and the corruption isn't just attached to the leadership, then the Republic may be in more peril than we imagine.

    1. It's very difficult to say. My entry was 8/78 and I retired 1/07. By the time I retired there was a very obvious generation gap, as well as the perhaps usual gap between M/F. I can only imagine that the gap has widened and what used to be very much a minority has become a decided majority. But I haven't maintained old contacts, so I can't speak authoritatively--I can only say that I'd be very surprised to be found to be wrong. That's a very brief answer.

  12. The open assault on 2nd Amendment rights is well under way via Dick Durban and other Marxist Democrats. I cannot strongly enough urge you to write your Congressman and Senators TODAY.

Let the Congressional reps know you expect not ONE inch of 'concession' regarding 2nd Amendment or they'll be primaried. Same message to the Senate, that they'll not see another term if they vote in ANY way to erode 2nd Amendment rights.

This is getting serious folks: the US Government under Communist Democrats are going all out in their efforts to strip the population of Constitutional rights, and our ability to defend ourselves against their 'soft' coup.

Call them, write them and let them know with clarity that their jobs are on the line.
