How's The Impeachment Theater Going?

Will Chamberlain gives us his view. If the embed doesn't provide the pscp.tv, follow the link to Twitter. Twenty five words or less: Chamberlain believes Schiff did exactly what he needed to do to offend and alienate Republican senators, and Pat Cipollone shone. Schiff chose to lecture the senators on their own rules--arrogant and disrespectful of the Senate as an institution. By comparison, Cipollone made clear, forceful, persuasive arguments--distilled complex ideas into simple language. Chamberlain concludes that Dems have underestimated how offensive Schiff is. Pretty much what I commented earlier today.

  1. The motions for subpoenas by Schumer appear to be nothing more than a coordinated scheme to give the impeachment managers additional time to argue their case. The managers even came with slides and graphics to go along with the Schumer motions.

I wonder how many such "motions" will be made? I could imagine this going on indefinitely unless the GOP has the will to shut it down.

    1. McConnell will NOT lose control over this.

    2. The nastily ranting Deming woman even showed a slide of the Maddow-Lev Parnas interview. They are behind the curve on good ole Lev….

    3. The Dem brass may have a deeper aim here, to get Mitch etc. to pass a rule to end this joke, and then the Left would cry "obstruction/ coverup".
This being a guerilla Theater bid, to discredit any Constitutional system which doesn't grant The People's House superior power.
"Such 'obstruction/ coverup', you know, would never be allowed in a People's Republic."

    4. Problem with that stragegy: Nobody gives a shit.

    5. Typo: I' bet you mean 'strategy'.
I wouldn't say "nobody", but I'll grant that it's a Hail Mary lunge.
So, if it's the best they've got, I'll have to bet on DJT prevailing.

    6. Strategery. Betting against DJT seems very much of a losing proposition.

  2. It's sure nice to see Mitch rotating a wire brush in Schumer's rump, by getting the "moderates" to hold the line on the amendments.

  3. So, the prosecutor's office, the House, went to court, the Senate, unprepared.

    1. In essence, they want the court to conduct an investigation, rather than a trial. Won't happen.

    2. On Hannity tonite, Dersh just expressed a guess, that the Dems aim w/ amendments is to stop DJT's guys, from presenting their case before the weekend.

Theory being, if the public spends all weekend knowing only the Dems' case, the public may let Dem ideas sink into their heads, too deep for DJT's guys to effectively counter with an exposé of this B.S.

  4. I'm gonna let you guys, and Mark, tell me all about the Impeachment theatre. Even if there are fireworks, my threshold for boredom is quite low.

These clowns--Schiff, Schumer, Nadler--are overgrown children. So it's too much to expect anyone but their parents to indulge them in this absurdity.

Yet, I await the thrilling comments which are sure to be better than the live performance.

Forbes, WADR, its so much worse than that. I don't mean to be melodramatic, but they are aiding and abetting the Clinton/Obama/Deep State attempt to overthrow the President by fraud.

    1. In a sense it's even worse than that--they're knowingly trashing our constitutional order. Trump's guys all know that, and I believe they're determined to put a stop to it.

    2. I'm very impressed by Cippilone and Sekulow. And Ray and Dershowitz. I'm still confident Trump is overwhelmingly acquitted. I still hope this proceeding is promptly terminated.

    3. If only Mitch is capable of facing, and caring about, such trashing.
For him to be negotiating about the schedule (according to Fox), with a monster like Schumer, doesn't inspire confidence.
I just can't see how anyone could expect that Schumer etc. would be capable, of keeping any deal that they had "agreed" to.

    4. I agree. While their behavior is childish it is rooted in a "Children of the Corn" level of evil and cannot be dismissed.

I think that, from a historical perspective, it can safely be said that we are in the midst of America's first full-on Show Trial reminiscent of the productions of Felix Dzerzhinsky and Roland Freisler. I am confident that as we progress towards Demtopia we will have many more. One of many "benefits" of Socialism.

Kavanaugh was just the summer-stock rehearsal. That there was not a great outcry and "throwing down of idols" afterwards is telling. This is a symptom that the Republic is deeply corrupted, probably fatally so. What once was is gone forever.

    5. Cassander: Reportedly, the most frequent use of WADR is "Waste Acid Detoxification and Reclamation" according to an internet search. LOL!

The only exception I would make to your observation, at this point, there's no deception involved. It's plain as the light of day they wish to remove the president from office by any means available.

    6. @Forbes

      LOL is right!

I also agree with you there is no deception. It will be 'interesting' to see where they go after they lose the Impeachment Hoax.

  6. Democrats have conflicting goals.

    1. Drag on impeachment as long as possible since they believe this hurts Trump.

    2. Make sure Hunter Biden does not testify, along with any other embarrassing witnesses.

    3. Keep hidden the coordination between lawfare, Schiff, Press, and other deep state players.

    4. Get access to the Mueller Grand Jury stuff / all the data that was collected by the Mueller’s committee.

    5. Portray the senate impeachment failure as caused by Republican biases.

    6. Keep the focus away from hunter Biden and the so-called Ukrainian whistleblower.

    7. Build public support that Trump should be impeached.

    8. Get the public to believe the Democrats are so solemn, non political, and are bias free.

    9. Make GOPe types feel safe to vote against Trump on impeachment issues.

Children who've sat on the throne for a long time, and had all the perks of power and money, and desperate to not lose it.

I watched Schiff for a while - what an accomplished liar. If I didn't know better, I would believe what he says. He really knows how to spin everything.

No wonder so many people are fooled. The #1 person I want to see kicked out in Nov is him.

  8. Note sure which post to post this under.... this article ties the "whistleblower" directly to the Schiff Impeachment fabrication. It reads like a blueprint of where the GOP will go with this if the trial drags out and gets into witnesses and details.

    Jaw dropping. Must read.

    1. Yeah, I had that up on my screen, but had to get some immunizations. Back now and will read as soon as I make some coffee. I'd been wondering why there was nothing new from Sperry lately, but he was obviously holding this back for the strategic moment.

    2. Ahhh, immunizations.

Had a lot as a child, more when I enlisted in the US Navy, and darn near every month when I was in the USN Reserves attached to Commander of 7th Fleet. Every month they made sure our seabag was full and our shots up to date because tensions are high.

With that, snd bourban, I should be well preserved to last till the later part of this century even if my mind is not!
