Papadopoulos describes how, as soon as he joined the Ben Carson campaign in December, 2015, he found himself being targeted by State Department officials. He then notes that when he switched to the Trump campaign, just a few months later, he was targeted by intelligence operatives, including Mifsud, who already knew all about him even though his switch to the Trump campaign was not public knowledge. Obviously, he's telling us that the coordinated targeting of all Republican campaigns by the supposedly non-political branches of the Obama administration (State, DoJ, the FBI and CIA) was well underway--no later than December, 2015, but certainly even earlier.
At that point Papadopoulos begins struggling a bit to articulate his big picture. What he's saying is that we're finally going to realize, as a result of the Barr/Durham investigation, how not only the US intelligence agencies but also foreign governments who bought into the Globalist agenda were totally invested in a Clinton presidency--and were coordinating to make sure that happened. The interests pushing the Globalist agenda included both Socialists (like Renzi in Italy) and conservatives (Cameron/May in the UK, Turnbull in Australia)--just as we see the same agenda being pushed on a bipartisan basis in the US.
It's an interview that nicely balances the big picture with interesting details. Regarding the details, Papadopoulos' account of how he was targeted by agencies of the Executive branch of the Obama regime from his first involvement in Republican campaigns suggests that there was a mole or spy within the Trump campaign (more generally here) who was looking to plant suggestible, manipulable individuals like Papadopoulos inside the Trump campaign. From the big picture perspective, the international scope of the Deep State assault on Trump comes into clear focus as well. The attempt by Mifsud and Downer, the Australian, to steer Papadopoulos (a Mideast wonk) toward Russia reflects the importance of Russia/Ukraine to the Globalist interests behind this effort. Putin's championing of national interests over Globalism is what makes him the Globalist boogeyman--the rest of the Russia Hoax is largely "narrative".
All this is what Bill Barr is endeavoring to "get his arms around" in a prosecutable way. Hopefully Barr will also find a way to get the truth out to the American public in more expeditious ways that will not jeopardize prosecution.
Laura Ingraham: John Durham has obtained two Blackberry phones that were used by Joseph Mifsud. He's the mysterious Maltese professor who sparked the entire Russia probe.
George Papadopoulos: Basically how I would summarize this, the grand statesman under Rome, Cicero, do you know what he said? He said a nation can survive the ambitious and the fools but it can’t survive treason from within. What I think happened in 2016--and all the events surrounding the 2016 campaign, and the spying that took place on me and Michael Flynn and others--was tantamount to treason. What happened was, there was an intelligence agency with an ax to grind with candidate Trump and obviously President Trump, where we see the Russia hoax now evolving into Ukraine-gate. This is not going to stop. I predicted that Joseph Mifsud, that individual who, both his Blackberries are now in the hands of the DOJ, was a Western Intelligence agent. I wrote about it in my book--exactly how I came in contact with this person, who introduced me to him and what he wanted. Something I did not know--and actually something that surprised me very much--is that Joseph Mifsud was also spying on Michael Flynn just two months before he started his encounters with me. So we're going to get to the bottom of exactly how both Michael Flynn's and my fates have intertwined in this very bizarre story.
Laura Ingraham: Now George, this was about, what? December 2015? Was that when you first encountered him, or came into contact with Mifsud?
George Papadopoulos: What happened was, I first joined the Ben Carson campaign in, I think, December of 2015 until February of 2016. And as soon as I joined that campaign I had various State Department officials in London and other capitals around the world probing me and asking me all about Ben Carson and what he was up to. What that campaign's platform was all about. As soon as I leave that campaign and join the Donald Trump campaign in March of 2016, before even the Washington Post or the American media knew that I was joining this campaign, I had Joseph Mifsud and other intelligence agencies knowing all about me, what I was doing and what Donald Trump’s campaign was all about. So the notion that this investigation, Crossfire Hurricane, started spontaneously on July 31st 2016 is absurd. It’s completely absurd. What we're going to finally realize is how soon these intelligence agencies--who had vested interests in a Clinton presidency, by the way. People forget that in 2016, the reason I'm being sued now apparently by the Italian prime minister is because the guy in 2016, the Socialist prime minister Matteo Renzi, and David Cameron [Conservative] in 2016, and Morrison, I think, or whoever the leader was in Australia in 2016 [Malcolm Turnbull], these people detested Donald Trump's America First platform. While America First may have been music to the ears of Americans, it was vitriol to the Globalist agenda. [David Cameron was succeeded by Theresa May, also Conservative, in the UK in July, 2016. Malcolm Turnbull was PM of Australia from 9/15 to 8/18 and was succeeded by Scott Morrison--both of the center right Liberal party, the Australian "conservative" party.]
Laura Ingraham: George, that's a great way to end this, because he represented--Trump--an existential threat to the Global Order that, they wanted to keep, they wanted to keep this whole racket going, with Globalism, and Trump was the skunk at this Globalist picnic.
Again, the rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper and more convoluted. It is now becoming clear that not only was the Obama Administration corruption widespread, prolonged, and extremely serious; but it involved many other countries and their governments in these acts. This international dimension is particularly impactful because Durham's investigative and prosecutorial actions must now address international legal obligations and limitations. And all of this could require months (or years) of plodding work under traditional DOJ protocols.
ReplyDeleteAnd hence the rub. The only real defense the Deep State can muster is delay, delay, and delay some more, hope they can put anything tangible off until next September and get things tabled until after the election, then steal the election and bury everything. Only Barr can prevent this forest fire.
OTOH, I agree. OTOH, retrieval of the phone and other investigative developments suggest it's proceeding rapidly. I'm hoping to post on that soon.
DeleteInsofar as these international legal obligations and limitations risk entailing delays (which could enable the D.S. to "run out the clock"), it may be better if Barr settles for prioritizing pursuit of the domestic culprits.
DeleteNailing the foreigners would be nice, but nailing the D.S. here is outright vital.
That's not possible. As Papadopoulos and Laura make crystal clear--and they're correct--it's all closely intertwined. If you try to separate the elements you end up with a distorted picture that leaves out the truly most monstrous aspects--collusion with foreign powers to overturn an election.
DeleteTrump's ardent supporters' definition and use of the word "hoax": A "hoax" is something that really happened, but you don't like the reality that it happened and you don't know how to deal with the reality that it actually happened; so you call it a "hoax" to dismiss it into oblivion as a way to cope with the awful reality that it actually happened. The so-called "Russia hoax" is a good example of this phenomenon; Trump's ardent supporters don't like the reality that what they call a "hoax" was something real, and they don't know how to deal with that reality, so they call it a "hoax" as a coping mechanism.
ReplyDeleteYou appear to be illiterate:
DeleteWikipedia: "A hoax is a falsehood deliberately fabricated to masquerade as the truth. It is distinguishable from errors in observation or judgment, rumors, urban legends, pseudosciences, and April Fools' Day events that are passed along in good faith by believers or as jokes."
Well done, Mark
DeleteOne of the (many) nice things about your blog is that there has been a minimum of illiteracy -- or should I say idiocy -- here.
There is enough of it in the world at large.
It's one of the reasons I monitor comments. I'm very happy to say I could count rejected comments on one hand with fingers to spare.
DeleteWell. LuckyPlayer is right that Trump supporters--ardent or otherwise--and supporters of our constitutional order don't like the hoax or the "hoax" that attempted to overturn the election and hamstring the duly elected president by the extra-legal and extra-constitutional means of deploying the intelligence and security services to surveil, investigate, insinuate, and perpetrate rumor and innuendo where no evidence of any alleged malfeasance existed.
DeleteThink about it. With Hillary's recent ravings about Jill Stein and Tulsi Gabbard--echoed, btw, by the Bill Kristol CIA candidate--the Left is pretty much tied to conspiracy theory. Pelosi plays to it, too, with here "all roads lead to Putin" stuff. To go with Global warming and all the rest. It's remarkable. Demographically, the Dems are the party of the educated elite. What does that tell you?
DeleteWhat does that tell me? The elite appears ill-educated and unthinking, but the "educated" elite knows one thing: power is all that matters. Whether grasping or grabbing, they are fighting for control of it, by any means necessary.
DeleteIf you're right, that's so very tragic, as it may mean that such a plot was Too Big To Fail.
ReplyDeleteWhile it's a very large investigation, I don't think it need be endless. Barr has managed pretty humongous civil litigations. He'll be aware of what's involved in bringing this to a conclusion, what resources are needed. I remain hopeful.
DeleteQuite hoping you're right.
DeleteFor me, even if he left out the truly most monstrous aspects, him just nailing some quite monstrous aspects -- collusion by top D.S. players to overturn an election -- may well be enough to put most of the Left, and the Dem Party, on their heels like never before.
The stakes are tremendous. They make the stakes in the Dreyfus Affair seem like chump-change, tho France is said to have been on the verge of civil war at that time.
Please do keep up your utterly-gripping coverage of this.
Don't forget, prosecutions or guilty pleas of individuals can be brought while other investigation remains ongoing. There is a risk of that being considered prejudicial, but it can be dealt with IMO.
DeleteWhatever that risk is, I hope Barr takes it.
ReplyDeleteIf you know, of who writes best on the scope of that risk, reading such material would be of much interest.
The obvious risk would have been to indict a Jim Comey for a relatively dicey low percentage criminal charge of lying (we must separate the criminal from the things that are against department rules or things that simply make us furious) that would have caused public commentary and disclosure of information critical to getting the really big fish. “Low percentage” because he was undoubtedly planning to go with the same rationale Susan Rice pursued in her Inauguration Day “leaving the White House “ cya memo to self on how they’d done everything “by the book”.. The “for the protection of the country against a possibly threatening new president”, etc., etc, bit. That could have weighed heavily in a criminal case against Comey for something relatively minor …especially when there are believed to be bigger crimes that involved him.
ReplyDeleteThis coup went wide and deep and began even earlier than was previously believed. Much of the evidence was held hostage during the Weissman/Mueller investigation. Joe Di Genova believes that it is moving fairly rapidly. He has the experience to back up that belief.
