Briefly Noted: DoJ Seeks McCabe’s Text Messages

I'll admit it. I'm stunned by this report from Sara Carter. I had pretty much assumed that by now Durham had whatever internal documentation he wanted.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told this reporter Monday ...
“It is astonishing that the FBI is not only playing games with Judicial Watch and Congress but also the Justice Department on text messages,” said Fitton. “It is as if Comey is still running the FBI.”

MEANWHILE: Trump-Russia and Clinton-Libya: A Story of 2 Probes and the FBI.

Records recently posted online by the FBI indicate that it did little to investigate allegations from private sources connected to Republicans about a scheme in which associates of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to exploit their connection to her to profit from the turmoil in Libya in 2011.
The FBI received the documents in June 2016, around the same time it launched an exhaustive, three-year investigation of the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia based, in part, on information from private sources connected to Democrats that in the main would prove to be false – the Steele dossier.
The bureau’s different responses to these documents also came during the same period when FBI Director James B. Comey controversially cleared Clinton, in his first of two exonerations, of criminal wrongdoing in the bureau’s probe of her unauthorized and insecure email setup.

  1. I don't worry about the reports of verious agencies resisiting exposure. Becuase if anybody wanted to resist AG Barr, it was the Mueller gang, and Barr shut down Mueller almost instantly. It seeme like Barr is not one to let his 2nd term as AG and last job in life be wasted.

    2. Third time should be the charm. I tested it and it worked. I have no idea why the problems came up before.

  3. The relationships of Cody Shearer, Glenn Simpson and Christopher Steele should be investigated.

As I recall, Steele has pretended that Shearer's own report was unknown to him (and to Simpson) when he (Steele) was writing his own Dossier.

Because Steele and Shearer supposedly did not know about each other's reports, the US Intelligence Community considered their two reports to be independent confirmations of each other.

"See! Shearer has been investigating Trump too, and he has found the same allegations about Trump!"

Now it turns out that Steele and Shearer were collaborating in a scheme to get hundreds of millions of dollars from Libya and that their scheme would benefit if Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election.

    1. The relationship between Cody Shearer and Hillary Clinton goes back decades.

    2. "supposedly" is the key word. But, yeah, they really need to do a deep dive into this. I'm getting a bit upset at the seemingly slow pace, when we were told not long ago that the investigation was full speed ahead.

    3. Right, re Hillary and Shearer. That was well known and alone should've been a major red flag.

  4. The Panama Bank is in this Libya story.

Russia is in the Panama Bank story.

I wonder is these stories will intersect.

    1. There are just so many moving parts in this, it's hard to keep track. How often do we hear about the Panama Bank? It's like it fell off the face of the earth!

  5. The Shearer-Blumenthal story, much like the Steele dossier story, had been previously been used by the media to paint a narrative conducive to a favorable partisan perspective.

In other words, much like how the smear shop FusionGPS operates, anonymously sourced stories are planted in a complicit and cooperative media giving the appearance of investigative reporting when--in actuality--stenography is the craft at work.

This is how imbecilic the FBI, et al., have become--if it's simultaneously reported by media, it's conformation; if two sources have the same story, it's conformation. (That two sources are fictionalizing a story for partisan advantage never enters the picture.) Instead, they're being played as fools by Shearer, Blumenthal, Steele, Simpson, Comey, and other insider leakers who know how to work the media to the benefit of the Deep State.

This is the Liberty Valence myth effect on the media. "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."

  6. Now that I've read the Real Clear Investigations article again, more carefully, I think the article is quite sketchy. There might be nothing to this.

Also, I see that I was mistaken in bringing Steele and Simpson into this story in my above comment (8:08 a.m.)
