ABC News Forced to Correct ‘Bombshell’ About Trump’s Ukraine Call

The title is Breitbart's: ABC News Forced to Correct ‘Bombshell’ About Trump’s Ukraine Call. It was brought to my attention by an emailer who I assume wants to be anonymous for personal reasons. In fact, I had seen the story but blocked it out as soon as I came to a key name.

Just follow the link for the details. The bottom line is this. ABC had to walk it all back because:

1) Their source wasn't who they said he was, and

2) Their source retracted the main point of the story, reducing it to--ready?--mere gossip.

Really. I'm not kidding.

As John Nolte says:

The central premise of the story has been wiped out by the facts. But, as we all know, ABC News is not a legitimate news organization ...

In releasing the transcripts, does Donald Trump look like fearful and weak man? I don't think so. I think his opponents are the rattled ones who are throwing the Hail Mary passes.

Is anyone more reprehensible than Pencil Neck? To Maguire: "I'm not questioning your honesty as I ask leading questions such as 'when did you stop beating your wife'"

Maguire came off as non-partisan and non-political. But surely he went home and told his wife what an ******* Schiff is.

    1. Right. Frankly, I was against the release for obvious reasons--protect the rights of the Executive Branch from an imperial House. But ...

Maybe this had to be done.

    2. I do think the Democrats miscalculated- they really didn't expect the White House to release both the transcript and the complaint like that. You could tell that was the case in the way today's hearing went- much was made about a coverup that actually didn't exist by the time of the hearing. It could also explain why Pelosi blundered on Tuesday- she also didn't expect to get them even with Trump already promising it.

    3. I think you're right. Pelosi's claim of a "coverup" has no legal significance whatsoever. Trump wasn't obliged to do any of that, nor obviously to make transcripts of his phone calls available to subordinates.

    4. Trump looks entirely in control--essentially calling their bluff: "Coverup? There's nothing to hide. Look for yourself."

Three years on, the Dems haven't changed their expectations about, or their conduct toward Trump, despite losing everyone of these contretemps. They've learned nothing.

    5. That's my dream scenario, I'll admit. I'm only into all this drama in retrospect.
