======================
Jim:
I slept on your statement and woke up appalled and upset. You lost me. Never dreamed you would let a bunch of hack politicians use your good name and reputation—earned with the blood and guts of young Marines. You did what you said you would—engage in this discourse.
Marines keep their word.
The phony protesters near Lafayette park were not peaceful and are not real. They are terrorists using idle hate filled students to burn and destroy. They were abusing and disrespecting the police when the police were preparing the area for the 1900 curfew. Jim, this is the new nihilism. See Dan Henninger in WSJ today.
Marines support the police in harms way.
Did you forget that President Bush used active duty Marines to quell the riots in LA? President Trump has countless cities and some snowflake governors and mayors wetting themselves in the use fo force to protect innocent lives and property. The AG of Massachusetts thinks burning property is good protest. Three more policemen were stabbed and shot in NYC last night.
Think about it. Should he be upset about the obvious failure of leadership? Where are you Jim?
Marines go to the fight.
No one divided this country more than Obama. He abandoned our black brothers and sisters. He gave guns to the cartels. He apologized for our precious sacrifice and generosity overseas.
You remember, he fired you.
President Trump has done more to help our minority brothers and sisters in the three years than anyone in the last fifty. Ask the black pastors. Ask the leaders of the black colleges and universities. He got them funded. Ask them about the prison reform which ended the draconian sentences imposed on young black men by the laws enacted by Biden and his hacks. You need to bone up on your homework and stop listening to Uncle Leon.
I understand, you had to stick to the assigned narrative which did not include three years of corrupt investigations and evidence to destroy this President, his office, and his lawful free election. Nancy has no tolerance for dissent in the ranks—including those with stars.
You said nothing of the ugly, hate filled, disgraceful comments of Pelosi, Schumer, Perez and other Democrat hacks defaming the President and his office. You said nothing of the unlawful sanctuary cities and the unlawful release of hoodlums. You said nothing of the resistance movement to paralyze our courts and our government operations. You said nothing of the obstruction and subversion of our immigration laws. You said nothing of MS-13 killers and the drug cartels who own huge sections of our major cities. Jim, do you think that hateful rhetoric and those corrupt actions were inspiring and unifying? Do you think the DI’s at Parr’s Island would find such behavior as unifying?
Maybe, your problem, is a lot deeper. Perhaps you ought to explain how and why you (and John Allen), as CG Central Command, did not engage and take out Iranian Major General Soleimani who roamed the Middle East and wreaked havoc and death of American boys with his infamous IEDs?
Why did it take President Trump to have the instinct and balls to take him out (of course over the objection the geniuses in the Pentagon)?
Looks like the Persian mullahs were a one horse sleigh and Trump nailed the horse….forever. It has been quiet ever since. Perhaps, your anger is borne of embarrassment for your own failure as the leader of Central command. Did you applaud when the President recognized the central problem in the middle east? Did you applaud the President when he wanted to save American lives by bringing them home in one piece?

A question:— Jeff Carlson (@themarketswork) June 4, 2020
Why did Mattis never respond to Grassley's letter, requesting the release of exculpatory information re: General Flynn.
"the declassification would be in the public interest, and is in the interest of fairness to Lt. General Flynn."https://t.co/2aSlnwJqgr
Whoa...
ReplyDeleteThat's gonna leave a mark. Or a brand.
ReplyDeleteEpic takedown.
ReplyDeleteSemper Fi Marine.
Dowd’s letter is so very good. He speaks straight across to Mattis, man to man, and reminds him of many things that Mattis seems to have forgotten - if he ever knew them. We are a Marine family. Mattis isn’t much of a Marine. PDJT got it right: “overrated”...
ReplyDeleteBeing a former Marine I back Mr. Dowd 100% on his response to retired Gen. Mattis outrageous comments. The upper echelons of all the service branches somehow turn these men into "politicians". Truly despicable.
ReplyDeleteShame on you, "ex-Marine"Mattis.
When a man loses his reputation there is no place he can go to get it back. This was a poorly thought out commentary for Mattis to make which Mr. Dowd takes him to task for. But the dustbin of history is filled with old washed up generals who did not know when to go away quietly...

Trump sussed him out pretty quickly: "Moderate Dog."
DeleteA politician, like so many of these generals. That's the great myth. People are looking for people who will do a job objectively, and they turn to people who they think are non-political: "no nonsense" prosecutors and former military. It just ain't so. You need someone with strong fundamental principles--the kind who rarely advance in bureaucracies.
I recall reading in Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" that one of the reasons is so corrupt is that most honest people leave government service because they can't stand the corruption of their superiors and realize that unless they are also corrupted, they have no future.
DeleteWhen almost all of the people in the higher positions have been corrupted, they all have dirt on each other, so almost no one suffers consequences of their corruption. I call these organizations "Mutual Extortion Societies".
All GOFOs are political to some extent. The higher the rank, the more connected. Therefore the more political they become as they rub elbows with congressmen and their congressional staffers looking for funding and favors. A contemporary of mine once told me that most GOFOs lean to the left. I didn't believe him at the time (the Obama era), but I began to see how right he was as the years passed by. Cartwright would be another great example.
DeleteDJL
While I left off with Cartwright, the biggest louse had to be the CJCS and former CNO under Obama: Mike Mullin. After he was retired, Clinton got him and a former ambassador, Thomas Pickering, to try and whitewash the Benghazi debacle. Their mission was obvious when it was noted they did not even interview key military personnel in AFRICOM - which at the time was basically a contingent within EUCOM.

John Kelly has now joined the attack.
Delete"John Kelly says he agrees with Mattis: 'We need to look harder at who we elect'"
https://www.foxnews.com/media/john-kelly-mattis-agree-trump
Who's "we"? Oh, did the American people—and the U.S. Constitution, may I add—choose the wrong president? Did he not come from the Deep State-approved presidential mold, John? Truly disgraceful.
Actually—and this has been a problem for quite some time—we need to look harder at who gets promoted in the military. For decades it has produced massively mediocre senior officers who can't win wars and whose strongest qualifications are self-promotion and self-preservation.
And who elected Kelly?
Deletejust shows they think they've got a coup going.
DeleteI believe you will find the most knowledgeable and patriotic military officers are those captains/colonels and commanders/lieutenant colonels that failed to promote in a system skewed to reward the ring knockers, preferred gender, and minorities. They are the workhorses that run the military.
DeleteDJL
This I can believe.
DeleteConsider just two of the imbeciles who have been professors at the war colleges:
DeleteJohn "Sooper Spook Dick Pics" Schindler, who once privately claimed that his many imaginary CIA NOC pals told him that retired CIA NOC Ishmael Jones (15 yrs undercover for CIA) was fake.
Tom "Collusion Craydio" Nichols, who has been as reliably wrong as Bill Kristol about literally everything.
I'm sure there are more, but how did village idiots like this get hired to impart their supposed "knowledge" to officers? What are the long-term consequences of putting garbage into the heads of future military leaders? The products of the education system currently rampaging in the streets shouting leftist social justice nonsense over a guy who more than likely killed himself might be an indicator.
You guys...above me...are all right and Dowd is right.
ReplyDeleteWe can't ever forget that the Left will...stop...at...nothing...nothing...to take down Trump.
Nothing.
John Dowd Biography:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.johnmdowd.com/
Had it not been for Mr. Dowd, who would have challenged General Mattis's accusations? Who? Certainly not that other former Marine that served honorably in Vietnam but dishonorably as the nominal head of a recent Special Counsel supposedly investigating a presidency for Russian collusion where he knew before he began it was an investigation built on fabrications. Another former Marine whose reputation has rightfully been tarnished by his post-service sleaziness.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked this line and it is germane to this discussion: What we do in life echoes in eternity.
