MAJOR UPDATE: Briefly Noted: Covid Regime Developments?

Some of you may have noticed yesterday that Fauci did another about face--he now is saying we need treatments for Covid. Yes, I understand. This comes only after Big Pharma has been at work on such treatments, which will be big money makers for them. It also comes after countless lives were sacrificed by the decision to virtually ban largely effective--not perfect, but largely effective--repurposed or off label medications.

People like Karl Denninger and many others have been arguing all along: The only sensible epidemiological response to Covid is to forget vaccines and opt for infection and early treatment. You can read an excellent post by KD in which he repeats that position while succinctly comparing the situation with regard to smallpox (and its vaccine) to the Covid Panic here:

What he's referring to is the fact that the smallpox vaccine was "the most dangerous vaccine." The operative word there is "was", and the details should be eye opening.

Briefly Noted: January 6 Event Legal Update

I've been keeping an eye cocked at what's developing in DC. I noted a while ago that the judges appear restless--they don't like what they're seeing with DoJ trying to keep people in prison while preliminary proceedings drag on with no trials in sight. That's not how the system is supposed to work--not all of the Judicial Branch has got the memo about how everything has changed under the new regime, including constitutional rights for criminal defendants.

Yesterday Shipwreckedcrew had an interesting and thorough article on all this at Substack. Before I briefly get to that, however, here are two of his tweets today, basically making fun of Amy Berman Jackson and the sentencing that took place today--because it sets the tone for his article:

Big news in J6 Cases today -- Judge Jackson sentences Karl Dresch to time served. Had been charged with a felony and detained pending trial. 

Gov't dismissed felony today and allow petty misdemeanor guilty plea. Max sentence is 6 months.

Obama liberal appointee Judge Berman Jackson presiding.  Full of fire and brimstone in her comments about January 6 -- but this is FULL RETREAT by DOJ and the Courts from these cases.

What he means is ... How does 'insurrection' compute to a plea to a petty misdemeanor and a sentence of time served? That's a joke, if you were paying attention to the rhetoric all along, but that's the deal that DoJ agreed to. And Judge Amy--not to be confused wtih Justice Amy--looks a fool, for all her fire breathing comments.

If this goes through, middle class landlords will be forced to sell to the Wall Street overlords who are buying up as much residential property as they can, while the ueber wealthy like Bill Gates are buying up farmland. How does this work? According to Klaus "Great Reset" Schwab the rest of us will own nothing, but we'll be happy. I personally doubt that.

America's Shame--But Is There Hope?

America's shame is it's re-education camps, as William Choslovsky writes today:

We rightly criticize and condemn China for sending more than one million Uighurs – Muslims – to “re-education” camps. At the “camps” the Uighurs are “educated” in a process their Chinese elders describe as “washing brains, cleansing hearts, strengthening righteousness and eliminating evil.”

Again, this is sick and wrong, a human rights abuse, something that should disgust us all.

But we have our own ... “re-education” camps that indoctrinate, all for a supposed good, evolved cause. We call our re-education camps public schools.

It seems particularly "sick and wrong" that Americans do this to their children and young people, in multiple ways, and devote vast sums of money to the process. This is America's great shame. Choslovsky provides an example of this sickness, from the Evanston, IL, (home to Northwestern University) government schools:

What Am I Missing?

Ah, I've got it! Fauci got a book deal, too! This is what we used to refer in pre-V2 days as bad companions:

Bill Barr got a book deal. Vindman got a book deal. Comey got a book deal. McCabe got a book deal. Strozk got a book deal. Yovanovitch got a book deal. Fiona Hill got a book deal. Jared Kushner got a book deal.

Of course, these are all books that no one will read unless they get paid to do so. The publishers know that, too, which leads to other interesting questions--questions that Donald Trump has asked.

And if anyone objects that Fauci doesn't fit into this particular Rogue's Gallery--which is basically about the Russia Hoax--I respond that it still all fits into a larger pattern (per the Streetwise Professor):

Briefly Noted: Covid Catchup

I really do want to keep this brief. I'm very much aware that life on planet earth is pretty much all about Covid now--certainly in the developed world. It's not just about health. It's very much--very, VERY much--about politics. Still, it's hard not to feel a bit burned out at times. The basics are known. As Dr. Robert Malone said over the weekend, none of what has happened has come as a surprise because the science behind it all is pretty much old hat stuff.

Still, here are a few notes to keep us up to date.

Zerohedge, despite it's other merits as an aggregator of news and views that are hard to get otherwise, has been pretty much rooting for the vaxxes. Today, however, they're running a worthwhile post:

No surprise here, either. Of course liberals move the goal posts--it's right out of the Left playbook. All goals and markers for herd immunity have been met so ... move the goal posts! Keep this thing going.

Black Fragility As Black Strength?

Substack seems to be a refuge or safe space for marginalized liberals--liberals who have found themselves behind the liberal curve, which has taken an ever more Leftward turn. John McWhorter, an African American linguistics professor, finds himself in that position. Having previously been something of a liberal darling--a coddled black academic sought after by white liberal publications--he's been marginalized to Substack. He's still saying pretty much the same things, but now for a somewhat different audience, in the same way that Glenn Greenwald does--becoming a regular on Tucker Carlson's show. More power to them, although I wish they'd have learned a bit more about their liberal ideas from what has happened.

Anyway, he has a piece today sniping, as has become usual for him, at the mainstream CRT people, who have become the Left's mainstream for commenting on all matters racial. He has worthwhile things to say, even if his audience isn't what it used to be:

So, he's gonna recommend books on race to read, rather than the stock CRT oriented books that are all the rage on the Left. Fine, but I won't bother going there--if you're looking for books to read about race, follow the link. Instead, here's his intro, which is blessedly common sensical:

Briefly Noted: What Side Of History Would This Be?

If you're like me, you probably get really ticked off every time you hear some knucklehead talking about being on the right/wrong side of history. However, interesting questions arise regarding how to tell which side of history a given example of human behavior actually is. For example, DC is making history even as we speak/read/write, but which side is it on?

Washington, DC, murders surpass coronavirus deaths in July by nearly 3-to-1 ratio

The number of homicides in Washington, D.C., surpassed coronavirus deaths in the city by a nearly 3-to-1 ratio in July as the nation’s capital continues to grapple with an uptick in murders.

The statistic comes as Washington, D.C., recorded 100 homicides by July 10 – the earliest the city has hit that number since 2003.  

The D.C. Police Union claimed the average date over the past 10 years when the city usually hits 100 homicides is Oct. 25.  

In 2019 and 2018, the city hit 100 homicides in August, but the city reached the mark on July 12 in 2020, according to WTOP News. 

As of July 30, there were 113 homicides in Washington, D.C., this year to date, compared to 108 last year, data from the Metropolitan Police Department shows. 

Fox News has reached out to the MPD and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office for comment. 

So puzzling.

Luongo's Populist Rant

I'm not sure that "rant" is the proper term for Tom Luongo's piece that was republished at Zerohedge yesterday. It could be regarded as a sort of prediction cum warning of what's to come. You may or may not agree with all his ideas here, but it is food for thought. 

For example, canceled elections? I would never go out on a limb in a prediction sense in that regard, but if there's one thing the Trump era has taught us it's: Never say never. The overall background or theme to Luongo's piece is the idea of the Great Reset, driven by a Global Elite that's pretty much openly at war with any classes beneath them--but especially the Middle Classes that are the backbone of democratic governance as we thing we've known it. It's the Neo-gnostic managerial elite of "experts" against the rest of us.

Read these excerpts and see what you think. I follow it with a much shorter excerpt from a normally extremely sober legal commenter, by no means a bomb thrower, Jonathan Turley. Turley's article is about the legal issues behind coerced vaccination. You may wish to read the whole article, but I'll only be quoting his concluding paragraphs which show a Turley who is becoming alarmed at what he sees around him in America.

So, first Luongo. He begins with reference to "panic". He referring to the whole Covid vaccine situation but to larger events as well:

Eye Exam

I have a regularly scheduled eye exam today, in a couple of hours. That will include dilating the pupils, so I probably won't be in condition for working at the computer for most of the day.

'Group-Think' Or Follow The Money?

I've been listening to a lot of interviews lately with Dr. Robert Malone, who has his own Wikipedia page now (although he says it's not exactly how he'd like it). One recurring theme in these interviews is the prevalence of 'Group-Think' among scientists--a tendency to toe a party line, an official narrative, rather than thinking independently. However there's another theme that crops up, which is that the scientific establishment knowingly engages in lies to protect its narrative, and that there is money behind it all. I get the impression that Malone is not a natively confrontational guy, although he's not a pushover, and so he avoids personal attacks. However the special podcast from yesterday with Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro differs a bit in that respect--Malone makes some very pointed remarks that go beyond 'Group-Think' or going along to get along.

In fact we've been prepared for this. Back when the Wuhan origin of coronavirus hit the fan (early June) we learned that a well regarded virologist, Kristian Andersen, had--upon first learning of Covid-19--immediately emailed Fauci stating that he and other virologists were quite certain that Covid was an engineered virus. Within only about a day--or a weekend at most--Andersen had totally flip flopped and was actively promoting the idea that his original view was basically a conspiracy theory. Andersen, as it happens, got a lot of funding for his research from Fauci's gang.

So, with that in mind, we turn to the second segment of yesterday's Warroom podcast. I'll present just the parts that interested me--once again, part transcript, part summary:

Bannon next briefs viewers on military coercion in Australia and other forms of coercion. Don't Follow The 'Scientism'!

Below is a transcript of an excerpt from a Warroom round table featuring Steve Bannon, Robert Malone, and Peter Navarro. Rather than talking about scientific data this discussion is more focused on what you could call the political aspect of the Covid Regime.

For my money, Bannon makes the really important point. Scientism is like a cult--its adherents aren't going to pivot to the facts. In that regard Malone--heartfelt and cogent as his observations are--comes across a bit like someone in 1917 Russia arguing that the Bolsheviks need to let the economists just do their job. Also, characterizing Scientism as a 'religion' misses the point and mischaracterizes a Neo-gnostic cult for something that it isn't--it isn't 'religion', not in any recognizably Christian sense. To mischaracterize it in this  way, like calling Bolshevism a 'political party', is to seriously underestimate the danger.
