Undercover Huber is reporting that--within 4 days of the event being leaked to the media--Team Mueller interviewed the former State Department translator who accompanied Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya to the famous Trump Tower meeting with Don Trump Jr. and Paul Manafort. That leak occurred on July 8, 2017, less than a month after Team Mueller's Witchhunt started operations--an indication that Team Mueller had hit the ground running and was smearing their target before they had any evidence. The translator who was interviewed, Anatoli Samochornov, confirmed that the Trump version of the meeting was absolutely correct and that the media uproar was all wrong:

@JohnWHuber
Within 4 days of the Trump Tower meeting being leaked to the media, Mueller’s FBI investigators interviewed a *key* witness who 100% backed up the account of @DonaldJTrumpJr & other participants.
No collusion or info exchanged, lasted a few mins, mostly about adoptions [i.e., Magnitsky Act sanctions].

Another leak from Team Mueller anytime during the next two years could have corrected the false impression that had been created, but of course that didn't happen. The media was allowed to continue with wild, and false, speculation until the Mueller Dossier was issued.
Mark, please reconcile "That leak occurred on July 8, 2017", with "A leak from Team Mueller could have corrected the false impression..."
ReplyDelete(Aslo, I recommend calling the "Mueller Dossier" the "Mueller Report".
Most readers will know what you mean, but novices may be nonplussed.
Likewise with the "Horowitz Dossier".)
I did the reconciliation.
Delete“Dossier” > “Report,” imho.
DeleteAdding insult to injury, the Mueller Report fails to even mention the translator's corroboration of Trump Jr's account of the meeting.
ReplyDeleteJust a continuation of a pattern of failing to report exculpatory evidence, just like we now know occurred in epic proportions in the Carter Page FISA warrant application and multiple renewals, and in Gen. Flynn's case, as well.
All a amazing set of coincidences, I'm sure ...
And Judge Walton thinks Barr has a credibility problem.

ReplyDeleteJust saw this. Never underestimate the pettiness of a Never-Trumper scorned. Explain to me again why a judge deserves respect; other than the guy in the corner wearing a gun I mean.
Tom S.
No wonder the FISA judges rubber-stamped the wishes of the Democrats-pretending-to-be-FBI-agents:
ReplyDeleteEVEN NOW the moron "judge" of the FISC thinks Trump wanted anti-Clinton dirt from Russia,
and doesn't realize Clinton payed for anti-Trump dirt from Russia.

That was pretty amazing.
DeleteRemember when Sullivan excoriated Flynn for betraying his country only to return after recess and apoligize to Flynn for having the facts wrong?
DeleteYeah, that shameless hack Adam Goldman at The New York Slimes still promotes the first part of that while omitting the rest of it.
Imagine the Orwellian nightmare of not only being wrongfully accused AND having an ignorant DC aristocrat judge assigned, but having a lying media continuing to tell the world what terrible things you did even long after the facts are known.
Sullivan had the decency to apologize, at least.
DeleteThere's that. But small consolation in this day and age when the careless error supplies one's rabidly dishonest detractors with simunition to continue firing at you for the benefit of their political agenda.
DeleteAnd now we have Boasberg at the FISC playing the reverse substitution game, but for realz. Reckless at best.
I've seen it attributed to Wellington and Churchill, and have even seen one account saying Churchill attributed it to his ancestor Marlboro: "A lie will travel half way around the world before the truth can get its shoes on."
DeleteTom S.
In that spirit, check out Part 2 re Carter Page, just published.
DeleteA never-ending crusade to sow suspicion and force people to defend themselves. Very easy to do, just make up stuff and people need to spend time and money to combat the lies.
ReplyDeleteEasy when you've got the MSM in your pocket.
Delete@Mark
ReplyDelete"Easy when you've got the MSM in your pocket."
Yes. And the DOJ, CIA, FBI, NSC, DOS, DOD, ONA...and DNC.
Probably forgot a few.
Typo - Meeing
ReplyDeleteUgh--thanks!
DeletePlease excuse my Canadian/Brit ignorance but who pays for the "State Department translator"? American tax payers? I'm thinking they didn't thank you so let me. Thanks a bunch. Was Natalia on an "official" government to government visit re Magnitsky which prompts the question WHY?? Does Glenn Simpson speak Russian or was his statement to Congress "lacking candor" when he said no one at Fusion spoke the lingo (I know he forgot Nellie but seriously who ever remembers the mouse in the corner). So did Anatoli enjoy his day before and day after get togethers with Glenn and Natalia? Is Anatoli a CHS?
ReplyDeleteHugh W
Hugh, I apologize--I wrote loosely. Samochornov was formerly with State, but at the time of the meeting he was not employed there. Search him and you'll get his career. I'll edit to make him "ex-State."
DeleteVeselnitskaya's ties to the Russian government are rather murky for someone not familiar with their system. Read about her at Wikipedia.
During the election Fusion GPS had TWO Russian speakers--Nellie and a former student of hers.
... Baumgartner.
DeleteHmmm...
