Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Hopefully Manafort's appeal succeeds and it doesn't come to this:
this blog develops the idea that a theory of man in history can be worked out around the theme that man's self expression in culture and society is motivated by the desire to find meaning in man's existence. i proceed by summarizing seminal works that provide insights into the dynamics of this process, with the view that the culmination of this exploration was reached with god's self revelation in jesus. i'll hopefully also explore the developments that followed this event.

ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteOccasionally-Crazy is a partisan politician with an agenda, using Manafort as a prop as against the idea/practice of solitary confinement.
ReplyDeleteAs regards protective custody, Manafort shouldn't even be held at Riker's Island. Solitary confinement is a disciplinary penalty for misbehaving prisoners, its use as a substitute for protective custody demonstrates Riker's unsuitability.
The whole thing seems to me to be largely a vengeful act. I can't speak to the charges against Manafort, but the public statements by NY authorities make it clear that in this as in the Cohen case their real interest is in striking at the President.
