Briefly Noted: The Threat

Two very diverse seeming links--but as with so much else going on these day, it all ties together.

I've featured Catherine Austin Fitts previously, in a transcript I did of a symposium in which she spoke with--among others--Richard Werner and David Skidmore. You can read about her background here. A reader sent me a link to a video interview Fitts did recently--she actually does most of the talking, which is a good thing. The interview reprises what she said at the symposium I referenced above, but also goes beyond that. You can watch the video here:

FORMER GOVT. OFFICIAL: “FINANCIAL SYSTEM UNDER ATTACK”

Financial Expert and former White House Official, Catherine Austin Fitts, reveals how the central banking system has utilized economic turmoil during the #Covid19 pandemic, to advance a plan to centralize wealth, reengineer the financial system, and what we can do to stop it.

A major point that Fitts makes is that injection mandates and passports are simply a backdoor way of instituting internal control passports. These will integrate with the projected digital currencies that will give the authorities 1) control over every purchase you make, and 2) the ability to easily turn the screws on anyone

UPDATED: End Of Empire?

After four years of Trump's heroic--some might say, Quixotic--attempt to return America to the greatness of its founding principles, the ruling elite staged a coup that enabled them to plunge back headfirst into the moral, political, and financial corruption that is the progressive regime. It's been a long time coming. For decades America's status as an empire rather than a constitutional republic was concealed from its citizens, but especially with the end of the Cold War the ride on the slippery slope has accelerated. 

The origins of our problems actually pre-date the rise of America as a world power--you can trace those origins certainly to the progressive era that began in the late 19th century when our ruling elite embraced the German ideal of government by science inspired "experts". Anyone with some sense of irony will note the repeated invocation the terms "science" and "experts" in support of our Covid Regime, even as our rulers abandon virtually even the pretense to scientific guidance. We find ourselves in the hands of half educated crackpots, neo-gnostic ideologues, and cynical power and money hungry elites who operate through frontmen.

Emerald Robinson put an important part of the problem we're facing well in her two tweets late yesterday: 

The reason that neoliberals are weeping all over Washington today: Afghanistan's fall is not just a crisis in credibility for Biden but for Brookings, for the Council of Foreign Relations, for the entire foreign policy establishment.

The neoliberals are self-aware enough to know that if they failed to plan a basic evacuation from a third world country then nobody really believes that they’re competent leaders of the free world.

ER is focusing on the foreign policy implications of this failure--which is natural, since foreign policy is at the core of running an empire. Ask every president since Clinton.

Nevertheless, the implications are broader. Off the top of my head, here are two:

Briefly Noted: Tony In 'A Sea Of Lies'

Yesterday we discussed the concept of the "noble" lie. We also suggested that this concept, derived from Plato's template for totalitarian government, The Republic, doesn't truly describe the barrage of "ignoble", self serving, lies that We The People are being subjected to. The notion that these lies are being propagated for the greater good of society doesn't really pass muster--and that means that the lies serve no noble purpose. Rather, they serve a distinctly ignoble purpose.

Fortuitously enough, just last Friday Fauci provided yet another example of a distinctly ignoble lie, and that example is dissected today at American Thinker: Fauci's latest faux pas. Don't be put off by the author's use of the term faux pas--he's perfectly aware that Fauci's lie is a quite conscious lie. The 'sea of lies' Fauci refers to--with no apparent sense of irony--turns out to be a sea largely of his own making:

Dr. Anthony Fauci recently made a bold declaration against “the sea of lies we are living in” -- and then lied about the science of COVID-19 and vaccine protection.  Not just a little lie: a massive misstatement of well-established scientific fact.

The lie is actually twofold:

First, he makes the implicit claim--in the face of massive evidence to the contrary--that the mRNA gene therapy injections are somehow able to prevent the Covid-19 virus from replicating and, thus, from mutating. Notice that I say 'implicit'. The use and manipulation of slippery language is the mark of an accomplished liar--one able to fool most of the people most of the time. Yet his statement really is a direct lie, because his statement makes no sense at all unless that core falsehood is what he intends people to take away from it.

Second, Fauci makes a direct comparison between apples and oranges, between Covid and measles. He states that the mRNA gene therapy medications are capable of eradicating Covid in the same way and to the same degree that measles has been eradicated. In doing so he also suggests that the very real phenomenon of ADE--vaccine induced enhancement of the virus via directed mutation--is a factor of concern, whereas we know for a fact that it has always been a concern. The author does an excellent job explaining why this is another quite "brazen" and conscious lie. Coronaviruses mutate freely and rapidly, whereas the measles virus is basically incapable of mutating. That makes all the difference in the world for vaccines:

Fauci’s analogy to measles protection is doublespeak: “....there is a near-zero probability for the natural emergence of a new measles virus capable of evading vaccine-induced immunity.”  Measles is especially “rigid” in its evolutionary design, employing a complex mechanism of “...binding to specific cellular protein receptors as its doorway” past the natural human immune system.

Thus, it is impossible for America to ever be provided vaccine protection from COVID-19 equivalent to that achieved by measles vaccines. This doesn’t stop Fauci stating that Americans will be protected “just the same way” as the nation is for measles -- if only people will prevail “despite the sea of lies.” 

What could possibly be the noble purpose of such a brazen lie? Whatever the purpose of the lie might be we can be sure of one thing: the purpose of the lie has nothing whatsoever to do with public health. World statistics for countries that have vaxxed and those that basically haven't prove that. The fact, therefore, that a public health official is openly and brazenly presenting lies that result in repression of the subject population, when those lies are not rationally connected to public health, really should give any intelligent person pause to think.

Herein lies a glimpse into just what kind of knuckle-draggers the left thinks we are. They think patriotism means we’ll do whatever they say whenever they say it.

The author cleverly illustrates the Left's attempt to persuade us knuckle-draggers that it's somehow unpatriotic and Un-American to be a knuckle-dragger--meaning, a dissenter from Left cultural dominance. Dissent from Left dominance is, as Barry Soetoro repeatedly said, is "not who we are as Americans." That's their wish. I've always believed that the repeated dive into anti-Russian chauvinism is a key part of the program. Knuckle-dragging patriots were all against the Soviet "Evil Empire", so by tarring the knuckle draggers' political leaders as Russian puppets ... You get the rest. And they're flummoxed that the strategy doesn't work, because they can't understand that even knuckle draggers can learn.

It's quite cleverly written.

Kelvyn Park High School Throws Out Hundreds Of Classic Books, Outraging Neighbors 

CPS officials said Kelvyn Park High School is undergoing renovations, and the books were “weeded” out in the process.

So who got weeded out? In this day of CRT I guess these would mostly qualify as 'the usual suspects':

The mountain of discarded books included copies of “Hamlet,” “Crime And Punishment” and “The Metamorphosis,” among other classics.

“I was so upset because these are not any books — these are classics,” said nearby resident Ruth Torres, who wrote about the books on Facebook.

“They had Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, they had so many."

All part of our sea of lies.

Everything's Coming Up Ignoble. Or Deplorable--Your Choice Of Words

The main topic here is the DoJ's lawless abuse of hundreds of participants in the January 6 Event. In referring to "DoJ's lawless abuse" I don't mean to let the FBI--an agency within the DoJ--off the hook. However, the fact is that none of these lawless abuses would be taking place but for the conscious and deliberate decision of a former federal judge and onetime nominee to the SCOTUS, currently at the head of the Zhou regime's DoJ, Merrick Garland. Garland himself, of course, is simply following orders--a disgrace for a former federal judge sworn to uphold the law and defend the Constitution. The shame and ignominy that Dems have brought upon a once proud institution, and the constitutional order it purports to uphold, would be almost too much to bear--were it not for the shame and ignominy already brought upon it by GOPe luminaries such as Bluto Barr and Bullsh*t Durham.

Commenter PDQuig has brought to our attention a fine article on the current status of the persecution by a former long time federal prosecutor, Shipwreckedcrew:

Offering pleas to misdemeanors and dismissing felonies violates written DOJ policies.

In point of fact, this article is basically an expansion on points that SWC made in earlier writings--all of which remain true and of great concern. I commented, here, on an earlier version of this article--actually, the day before this article came out. At that time I remarked:

The basic problem with the case SWC discusses--and, count on it, there are many more like it--is that the regime is trying to keep citizens in prison on trumped up charges while they conduct investigation. That's totally backwards--or used to be when America was still a constitutional republic. A lot of judges are unhappy about this.

Say Goodbye To America?

Sean Davis:

If this goes through, middle class landlords will be forced to sell to the Wall Street overlords who are buying up as much residential property as they can, while the ueber wealthy like Bill Gates are buying up farmland. How does this work? According to Klaus "Great Reset" Schwab the rest of us will own nothing, but we'll be happy. I personally doubt that.

Briefly Noted: Covid Catchup

I really do want to keep this brief. I'm very much aware that life on planet earth is pretty much all about Covid now--certainly in the developed world. It's not just about health. It's very much--very, VERY much--about politics. Still, it's hard not to feel a bit burned out at times. The basics are known. As Dr. Robert Malone said over the weekend, none of what has happened has come as a surprise because the science behind it all is pretty much old hat stuff.

Still, here are a few notes to keep us up to date.

Zerohedge, despite it's other merits as an aggregator of news and views that are hard to get otherwise, has been pretty much rooting for the vaxxes. Today, however, they're running a worthwhile post:

'Experts' Move The Goalposts, Declare Herd Immunity Threshold Now 90% Due To Delta

No surprise here, either. Of course liberals move the goal posts--it's right out of the Left playbook. All goals and markers for herd immunity have been met so ... move the goal posts! Keep this thing going.

Luongo's Populist Rant

I'm not sure that "rant" is the proper term for Tom Luongo's piece that was republished at Zerohedge yesterday. It could be regarded as a sort of prediction cum warning of what's to come. You may or may not agree with all his ideas here, but it is food for thought. 

For example, canceled elections? I would never go out on a limb in a prediction sense in that regard, but if there's one thing the Trump era has taught us it's: Never say never. The overall background or theme to Luongo's piece is the idea of the Great Reset, driven by a Global Elite that's pretty much openly at war with any classes beneath them--but especially the Middle Classes that are the backbone of democratic governance as we thing we've known it. It's the Neo-gnostic managerial elite of "experts" against the rest of us.

Read these excerpts and see what you think. I follow it with a much shorter excerpt from a normally extremely sober legal commenter, by no means a bomb thrower, Jonathan Turley. Turley's article is about the legal issues behind coerced vaccination. You may wish to read the whole article, but I'll only be quoting his concluding paragraphs which show a Turley who is becoming alarmed at what he sees around him in America.

So, first Luongo. He begins with reference to "panic". He referring to the whole Covid vaccine situation but to larger events as well:

Last week Tucker Carlson and President Trump both drew attention to a lengthy Twitter thread (something like 35 tweets?) that purported to explain the thinking of MAGA oriented Americans. Other outlets quickly picked up on it, as well. We referenced the thread in Where America Is, quoting Zerohedge's intro to its republication of the thread:

In doing so, they exposed themselves to anyone not already paying attention.

Today commenter Frank has linked to a lengthy article that Cooper has written, with an intro by Glenn Greenwald:

Author of the Mega-Viral Thread on MAGA Voters, Darryl Cooper, Explains His Thinking

Tucker Carlson devoted seven minutes of airtime to reading it. Donald Trump heaped praise on it. Why did this Twitter analysis resonate so widely on the right?

As I say, it's very long, but perhaps it will serve a purpose to excerpt Cooper's conclusion. I think we're all capable of airing our grievances and expressing our frustrations with both the direction the country is headed as well as with the behavior of the ruling elite--whether in government, media, or the tech/social media industry. Cooper's conclusion hits on some high points and calls on the Left to take note:

As election day became election night and the tallies rolled in, Trump supporters allowed themselves some hope. But when the four critical swing states (and only those states) went dark around midnight, they knew. 

Over the following weeks, they were shuffled around between honest critics, online grifters, and media scam artists selling them conspiracy theories. They latched onto one then another increasingly outlandish theory as they tried to put a concrete name on something very real, of which election day was only the culmination. Media and Big Tech did all they could to make things worse. Everything about the election was strange, confusing, and unprecedented - the changes to procedure, unprecedented mail-in voting, counting delays, etc - but rather than admit that and bring everything into the open, they banned discussion of it (even in private messages!), and launched an absurd propaganda campaign telling us that it was - I’m not making this up - the most well-run and secure election in American history.

Conservatives know - again, I think probably everyone knows - that just as Don Jr.’s laptop would have been the story of the century, if everything about the election dispute was the same, except the parties were reversed, suspicions about the outcome would have been taken very seriously. See 2016 for proof.

Even the judiciary had forfeited its credibility with these voters because of the opposition’s embrace of political violence. Trump supporters say, with good reason: What judge will stick his neck out for Trump knowing he’ll be destroyed in the media as a violent mob burns down his house? Maybe most judges would do their jobs, but given the events of the last four years it’s not an unreasonable concern, and the concern itself is enough to cast the whole system in doubt. Again, we know, thanks to Time Magazine, that riots were planned in cities across the country if Trump had won. Sure, they were “protests”, but they were planned by the same people as during the summer, and everyone knows what it would have meant. The Chamber of Commerce took the threat of a second round of destruction of its members’ property seriously enough to offer its assistance to the “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information” - Time’s words, not mine.

Trump voters were adamant that the governors’ changes to election procedures were unconstitutional. Everything in law is open to interpretation, but it doesn’t require a Harvard Law degree to read Article 1, Section 4 (quoted above) and come to that conclusion. But they also knew the cases wouldn’t see a courtroom until after the election, and what judge was going to make a ruling that would be framed as a judicial coup d’etat just because some governors didn’t go through the proper channels? Even a judge willing to accept the personal risk would have also to be willing to inflict the chaos that would follow on the country. Even a well-intentioned judge could convince himself that, whatever happened or didn’t happen, as a public servant he had no right to impose an opinion guaranteed to lead to mass violence - because the threat was not implied, it was direct. Some Trump supporters, unfortunately, thought the license for political violence applied to everyone; the hundreds of them now sitting in federal jails learned the hard way that it wasn’t true.

From the perspective of Trump’s supporters, the entrenched bureaucracy and security state subverted their populist president from day one. The natural guardrails of the Fourth Estate were removed because the press was part of the operation. Election rules were changed in an unconstitutional manner that could only be challenged after the deed was done, when judges and officials would be playing chicken with a direct threat of burning cities. Political violence was legitimized and encouraged. Major newspapers and sitting presidents were banned from social media, while the opposition enjoyed free rein to promote stories that were discredited once it was too late to matter. Conservatives put these things together and concluded that, whatever happened on November 3, 2020, it was not a free and fair democratic election in any sense that would have had meaning before Donald J. Trump was a candidate.

Trump supporters were led down some rabbit holes. But they are absolutely right that the institutions and power centers of this country have been monopolized by a Regime that believes they are beneath representation, and will observe no limits to prevent them getting it. I encourage people on the Left to recognize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of them. You’re not going to agree with the conservatives on everything. But if in 2004 I had told you that the majority of the GOP voter base would soon be seeing the folly of the Iraq War, becoming skeptical of state surveillance, and beginning to see the need for action to help the poor and working classes, you’d have told me such a thing would transform the country. Take the opportunity. These people are not demons, and they are ready to listen in a way they haven’t in a long, long time.

Next, Andrew Sullivan captures how the philosophical and moral bankruptcy of the Classical Liberalism on which America was founded has caught up with us as a nation. Ideas have consequences, and even lack of ideas has consequences. Bad ideas? It just keeps getting worse until/unless people have a deep conversion--because nothing less can change the momentum. That means that liberals like Sullivan are, of course, very much part of the problem. But so are libertarians, to take just one example, whether of the Left or Right:

I'm not sure how to articulate this, so I'm engaging in a bit of stream of consciousness.

The Zhou regime says they're going to be going door to door to try to persuade everyone to participate in a dangerous medical experiment--which, coincidentally, enriches Big Pharma at no risk of liability for injuries. Presumably Big Pharma will morph into--if they haven't already--Big Donors, giving unstintingly to their benefactor: The Dems.

Now, according to American Greatness,

Only 47 percent of Americans are reportedly fully vaccinated despite an abundance of the vaccine.

How many people do you think it will take to personally contact half of all Americans? A lot. This sounds to me like community organizing and vote canvassing absolutely on steroids. Covid vaxxing is what gets their foot inside the door, but as someone who spent his working life talking to people for a living, there's no telling where that will lead. Politics? Sure. Lifestyle views? Why not? Recruitment to activist causes? I think so.

And all this on our dime, because who thinks this army of people going door to door won't be paid? We The People will be footing the bill for Dem organizing.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted Friday to create draft guidelines on the meaning of Communion that could eventually bar people who express support for abortion from receiving the Eucharist.

prominent Dems--including some who don't even claim to be believers-- are spinning out of control with claims to dictate who can receive the Eucharist. My guess is that among fair minded Americans of any faith, or no faith at all, this will simply add to the growing view of Dems as radical and intolerant. One more indication that Dems are at war with all things normal. Here's what it comes down to:

Food For Thought: Bolsheviks And Billionaires

I just got around to reading a post at ZeroHedge that republishes and article that first appeared at The Mises Institute. I don't normally follow Libertarian sites, but I do try to keep an open mind. I've read various Libertarian authors--Hayek in particular--and freely acknowledge that I agree with much of what he has to say. It's simply that I disagree with Libertarianism as a global explanatory theory, or theory of everything.

Anyway, the piece has a title that's sure to attract the interest of people like me:

As usual, you don't need to agree with everything the author says to derive some benefit from the article. The subject is Oligarchs, the ueber wealthy, the kind of people who turn up when the conversation turns to the Global Elite, the Great Reset, the ruling elite. You can get a pretty good idea of who these people are by looking at lists of donors to either major political party, or simply following the news to see who are the most influential people in the world. Of course, some fly under the radar, but for government work--so to speak--for the rough idea that forms the basis of the article, that will suffice.

What I'm reproducing here is the middle section of the article, which is what I found most insightful. No doubt many will find this old news, but the point is that the author expresses these insights well, in a readily digestible way. Obviously these insights can be extended greatly:

Two especially humorous items today.

First: Progs who just don't get it.

Jamie Metzl slammed Peter Daszak's 2020 Lancet letter condemning lab leak theory as 'scientific propaganda'

Jamie Metzl sounds for all the world like a prototypical prog. If you don't believe me, check him out at Wikipdedia or at his profile page. Whatever else those pages suggest to you, he's probably a natively very smart guy. He's a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and previously worked for Zhou Baiden and the Clinton Admin. With that background, you have to wonder: Exactly what about the Progressivism doesn't he get?

Obviously there's a disconnect somewhere, because he went and got himself labeled as a "right wing conspiracy theorist." You can imagine the amount of heartburn he--a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and a member of WHO's advisory board--is suffering! It's to the point that he actually appeared on Fox and Friends, seemingly the only platform willing to grant him an audience. And he still doesn't seem to understand what hit him--as if pleading his case on Fox will somehow restore him to the good graces of World Progressivism.

Here's how he responds to a question about Peter Daszak's orchestration of the Lancet statement, the statement that, 'Hey, that Covid thing was totally not engineered in a lab--are you crazy?' That's the statement that's now being revealed as complete bullsh*t, basically coerced from scientists who were on the government grant take. 

The clueless Metzl went on Fox to protest his Prog credentials jproceeds to congratulate his right wing hosts on defending science against the progressive Left and generally getting the whole story absolutely correct. Then Metzl goes on to compound matters by naively claiming that science--as practiced in the 21st century--isn't about politics:

Fascism

 

Fascism is a religion of the state. It assumes the organic unity of the body politic and longs for a national leader attuned to the will of the people. It is totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good. It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action, whether by force or through regulation and social pressure. Everything, including the economy and religion, must be aligned with its objectives. Any rival identity is part of the ‘problem’ and therefore defined as the enemy. I will argue that contemporary American liberalism embodies all of these aspects of fascism.

I hope that definition of Fascism strikes a chord with readers. It represents the ideal of essentially all modern states. In terms of Meaning in History, what Fascism represents is the powerful urge of post Christian man to return to the compact unity--the "organic unity"--of "archaic" pre Christian cultures. Those cultures, and the states in which they were embodied, existed as compact, organic unities in which everything that we consider somehow separate were regarded as inseparable. Religion, politics, cultural expressions--it was all part of the organic expression of "archaic" man's self understanding as existing in a divinely instituted cultural unity. 

Dissent from any aspect of that unity was understood as rebellion against the whole. Thus, Socrates expression of free thinking and questioning required that he be executed. So, too, the Christian refusal to sacrifice to the official Roman gods was an act of rebellion against all things Roman--state, politics, religion.

The Christian insistence that God--understood as creator of all that exists and the sole father of all men--is knowable to human reason without societal, state, or cultural intermediation destroyed that compact unity. Within that compact unity man had felt at home. Christian faith--reasoned belief in the infinite creator God, as expressed by Paul in Romans 2--was a demanding way of life. In return for a reasoned understanding of man in the world under God, it demanded serious commitment and reasoned endeavor.

The final breakdown of Christendom faith as a unifying force for Western society in the late Middle Ages, leading to the religious wars of early modernity, led to post Christian man seeking an alternative. There really was only one alternative--an attempted return to the "archaic" vision of man in the universe. However, Christian faith made a return to the now naive worldview of paganism impossible for the modern nation states--although we see the attractive power of neo-paganism in our own culture. Instead, modern man was forced to formulate an alternate, competing ideology to Christianity--an ideology in the sense of being no longer based on a reasoned interaction with reality but an attempt to impose a man made reality on the world.

Will A Woke Military Make War On Red America?

Within the past week I answered this question with a simple, No. Later, I elaborated a bit. Basically, my argument was and is that the demographics are all wrong for such an eventuality. The military is overwhelmingly--as in up to 70%--white and broadly conservative in orientation. The Left--as long as it retains control--may be able to destroy the disciplinary structure and effectiveness of the military, but it will do this by driving out irreplaceable human resources. But they will find few if any replacements--certainly not sufficient replacements. Snowflakes and street theater warriors are not interested in full time military duty. Period. In the meantime, if Lloyd Austin really tries to purge the military of "extremists", he will simply have returned large numbers of trained conservative warriors to civilian America. That's self defeating from a Leftist perspective.

This morning commenter Frank posted several paragraphs from an article by Michael Anton. The article is from last winter, so it's behind events. Nevertheless, it raises matters of concern for many:

One of those concerns for many is the fear that Blue America could rise up and subjugate Red America. In that context Anton quotes Christopher Caldwell, writing in The New Republic (of all places). Caldwell likens our current crisis to the unification movements of the 19th century in Germany, Italy, and--yes--the United States. 

The comparison within the context of the 19th century is interesting--but not truly parallel, as far as the United States is concerned. I believe the analogy is even further afield when applied to 21st century America. Germany and Italy in the 19th century were cultural spheres that had a sense of true belonging together, but were politically disunited due to outside forces (as well, admittedly, by internal forces). The United States, by contrast, subsisted as a constitutional republic subject to centrifugal forces. The challenge in America was to resist the forces of disunion--although the result was a greater degree of unity than the federal republic envisioned by the founders.

In 21st century America there is a very real cultural divide, as well as religious and ethnic division. This mirrors to some extent the situations in Germany and Italy. However, I would argue that Blue America itself lacks the degree of unity needed to impose its vision of hegemonic unity. The Dem coalition is far more deeply fractured than is Red America--it is, to borrow Steve Sailer's apt phrase, truly a "coalition of the fringes". This contrasts with Germany and Italy. In Germany the Prussian unifying juggernaut was quite homogeneous, as was the House of Savoy in Italy.

Again by contrast, Blue America would, in my opinion, be far more likely to attempt to secede from the rest of America than to aggressively seek to subjugate it. Tucker Carlson has said that the Left has captured all the drones and tanks without a fight. We understand what he's saying, but that's not really the case. The trained warriors in the military are a relatively small and elite group. They are, by and large, not woke. The wokesters have taken over the higher, politicized ranks, and the administrative posts. You would not want to back them if push came to shove against the trained warriors, who would not be in the least inclined to subjugate Red American on behalf of Blue America.
