Lee Smith On Russiagate As An Operational Model For The Left

Author and investigative reporter Lee Smith has a new article at The Epoch Times, in which he analyzes the never ending Russia Hoax as the "operational model" for the Left's continuing assault on our constitutional order. The article is behind a subscription (but non-pay) wall here:

Smith begins by noting the disastrous consequences of the Barr/Durham failure to hold the Deep State to account for the Russia Hoax. Of course, we now know that that failure of responsibility ran even deeper, to include the failure to address Leftist street violence and the assault on our electoral system:

Because former Attorney General William Barr failed to hold anyone accountable for the Democratic Party and FBI’s dirty tricks campaign against Donald Trump, Russiagate lives on. Indeed, recent news reports show that it’s become the operational model that the party and its partners in the spy services and media will continue to use against their adversaries.

The consequences are certain to be catastrophic, for setting intelligence operatives loose on one half of America cannot help but further fracture the country’s domestic peace.

From that beginning Smith moves on to the Zhou regime's alarming plans to use private contractors to conduct domestic spying on US citizens and the continuing efforts to frame Trump associates like Rudy Giuliani and Ron Johnson. Smith connects the subcontracted domestic spying to the origins of the Russia Hoax, in which the Hillary campaign paid Fusion GPS to come up with the Russia Hoax narrative and then seed that narrative not only to the MSM but also to the US Intelligence Community. Alarmingly, that is now the plan, the "operational model", for what the Zhou regime is seeking to do to counter all domestic dissent--now reclassified, as Smith notes--as domestic "terrorists":

Yesterday we took a look at the significance of the Time piece that purports to tell the masses of We The People what really happened in Election 2020 (Why The Time Election Narrative Is Good News). According to Time, a patriotic coalition of Big Business and Big Labor worked brilliantly and selflessly to save our electoral system and way of life from ... Trump! Now this hitherto secret coalition wants us to know exactly how they did it (LOL) so we will place our full trust in the puppet Zhou Baiden regime--and the military occupation of the Imperial City on the Potomac can be ended. Life, they hope, will resume the appearance of normalcy (but only after the "60 day stand down" purge of the military).

In that blog yesterday we cited insightful articles by Conrad Black and Glenn Reynolds that, while written before the Time article appeared, effectively deconstructed it that self serving narrative of the oligarchical powers that rule America. At the same time, numerous readers were urging me to look at a brilliant, and lengthier, analysis by Lee Smith. One thing at a time!

- while obviously not intended to relate to the Time article serves remarkably well as a follow on to it. Smith draws on his analogy of our current crisis to an episode in ancient Greek history to further rip away the mask of disinformation that the Time article is intended to propagate.

The period in Greek history known as the rule in Athens of The Thirty Tyrants is an illustration of the principle that not all that much in human history is really new or unprecedented. As we all vaguely know, Athens was run as a democracy. In the wake of the defeat of the Persian Empire--in which the Athenian fleet played a leading role--the Athenian democracy expanded its influence and, while maintaining its form of government, established what amounted to an empire. This Athenian empire came to be widely resented in the Greek world. If you're thinking along the lines of the rise of America in the world beginning in the late 19th century and continuing to these late Imperial days, you're on the right track.

Lee Smith's Good Interview Re Info Sharing, McCabe

Author Lee Smith, The Plot Against The President, did a good interview on Fox last night regarding Eric Felton's bombshell article about the FBI doing "info/intel sharing" with Chris Steele and Fusion GPS.

Smith phrases things very well in the interview. For example, he points out the middleman "liaison" role of Chris Steele and how that sheds light on the FBI's role in the Russia Hoax vis a vis the Clinton campaign. The fact that the information flow was bi-directional means that not only was the Clinton campaign (Fusion GPS) sharing with the FBI and the FBI was using that oppo research to target Trump. But that bi-directional flow also means that the FBI was sharing with the Clinton campaign (Fusion GPS, again). Steele, in effect, becomes the FBI liaison to the Clinton campaign. And, as we saw yesterday, the FBI knew that that's what they were doing.

Smith also lets drop that Peter Strzok and Bill Priestap, High Bureau Officials as I put it yesterday, were involved in the intel sharing with Steele. Yesterday I suspected that when Horowitz referred to a "Section Chief" that would logically be Strzok. Smith, with better sources, has apparently nailed it down that the Section Chief in question was, in fact, Strzok.

Smith also appears to agree with me that the purpose of the information flow to Steele from the FBI was so that Steele could use that information to feed "source information" back to the FBI for use in the FBI application. We've seen similar information laundering operations involving media accounts, in which leaks to the media were presented by the FBI to the FISA court as independent corroborating information.

All of this goes toward proving and fleshing out the Big Picture conspiracy of the Russia Hoax--a conspiracy that involved key players at the top of the FBI, State, CIA, DoJ, the White House, and the Clinton campaign.

At the end of the interview a very important point is made regarding Andrew McCabe's excuses re the FISA applications, in which McCabe tries to push the blame off on the field agents, when in fact the whole Russia Hoax operation--as Felten documents--was very closely held at FBIHQ:

I know there was some news about the non-prosecution of McCabe, but if you think McCabe is out of the woods on this one he's got another think coming, because between Barr and Durham and the things that are going on at the Department of Justice, this show is not yet over.

Brilliant Interview With Lee Smith

I really like that Lee Smith calls the Impeachment Theater cabal a cult, engaged in a ritual presided over by priestess Pelosi and high priest Schiff. As he says, none of the Russia Hoax and its continuation into Impeachment Theater--which he rightly views as a continuum--bears any similarity to reality. It can only be explained as a cult:

There are two sets of laws in the United States today. One is inscribed in law books and applies to the majority of Americans. The other is a canon of privileges enjoyed by an establishment under the umbrella of an intelligence bureaucracy that has arrogated to itself the rights and protections of what was once a free press. 

The media is now openly entwined with the national security establishment in a manner that would have been unimaginable before the advent of the age of the Dossier—the literary forgery the FBI used as evidence to spy on the Trump team.

In coordinating to perpetrate the Russiagate hoax on the American public, the media and intelligence officials have forged a relationship in which the two partners look out for the other’s professional and political interests. Not least of all, they target shared adversaries and protect mutual friends.

Rather than unraveling the lies that sustained the FBI’s dirty Russiagate investigation, the press’ selective reporting served rather as a shield to defend intelligence officials spying on Americans who were guilty only of supporting the wrong presidential candidate.  

There is little chance the Post or Times reporters will be prosecuted for doing what Assange did—and much worse. However, the Assange indictments coupled with the rewards reaped by America’s premier newspapers for their role in a spy agency information campaign send a clear message not only to journalists but also to the public at large. In abusing both the rights of a free press and national security programs designed to keep Americans safe from terrorism, the press and intelligence bureaucracy have made us less free and less safe. The larger message they’re sending is, it’s not your country anymore. It’s ours.

UPDATED: Call For The Dead

As reported by the Daily Caller's Chuck Ross, as recently as 9/7/18 the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was claiming that Joseph Mifsud--the shadowy Maltese professor who appears to have been instrumental in drawing George Papadopoulos into the Russia Hoax--"was missing and may be deceased." Mifsud had variously been reported to have had close ties to Russian intelligence, or to British intelligence, or to other Western intelligence services. It was Mifsud who, according to the FBI interview of Papadopoulos in January, 2017, had introduced Papadopoulos to a woman who falsely claimed to be Vladimir Putin's niece and it was Mifsud who Papadopoulos also said told him that Russia was in possession of thousands of Hillary Clinton's emails (Mifsud has denied all this).

The DNC's claim drew a quick response from Mifsud's longtime friend and lawyer, Stephan Roh. Roh appears to be as shadowy in his connections as is Mifsud. According to Wikipedia,

Roh is a Russian-speaking German lawyer and multimillionaire with close ties to Russia, has worked alongside Mifsud for years. Papadopoulos's wife, who briefly worked for Mifsud, has described Roh as Mifsud's lawyer, best friend, and funder. Roh owns multiple businesses, many headquartered in Moscow or Cyprus; he also co-owns Link University, where Mifsud taught. Roh was detained and questioned by investigators on Robert Mueller's Special Counsel team in October 2017.

Roh told reporters that, while Mifsud has not been seen since November of 2017, the DNC's claim of Mifsud's decease was "nonsense".

I got it from really good sources. They say that he is alive, that he has another identity, and that he is staying somewhere, at a nice place,” Stephan Roh told The Daily Caller News Foundation on Sunday.

“I just this morning got a message, indirectly, that he is alive and that they have provided him with another identity,” added Roh, who did not describe his sources.
