MULTIPLE UPDATES: Where We Stand @11:00PM Central Time

Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Virginia stopped counting when Trump sprang into a lead.

Trump wins with either NC or PA. Closer by far than I expected.

Shipwrecked on the legal status:

Re all these states with "extended" dates for receiving ballots -- beyond that provided in statute.  The Supreme Court has not yet ruled on whether those votes will be valid.  All the Supreme Court has done is declined to issue emergency stay's preventing the lower court rulings from being enforced.  The Court will decide in the next 7-10 days if the period beyond what is provided by statute are valid or invalid.  Barrett will be the 5th vote.  I think they will be invalidated, and all votes not received by the date provided in the statute will not be a deemed to have been validly cast.

UPDATE 1: When I went to bed I thought WI was solid. At 4am I thought it was down to NC. Now it seems to come down to Michigan--although not all is clear. Hard to believe the 11% lead in PA won't stand.

UPDATE 2: I see Biden is being given a lead now in Michigan. I weep for America.

UPDATE 3: There appear to be real indications of fraud in some states. The quotes are from Shipwreckedcrew, but the links and graphics are from TGP. WI

Trump enjoyed a significant lead, but as was true in Georgia, the major urban center, Milwaukee, would not competently perform the same tasks as the rest of the state.  At approximately 4:30 AM, Milwaukee County dump in 169,000 absentee and early votes, and Biden miraculously had a lead of about 7000 votes.  After a few smaller drops, the lead grew to 11,000 votes.

and MI

But — just like with Milwaukee and Atlanta — the officials in Detroit could not get their act together and report their vote totals.  Another one-party Democrat run county waiting around to see what numbers might be needed to get the job done?

experienced early morning vote dumps--all for Biden. The governor of PA is just now saying there are 1 million mail ballots still to be counted. Trump had been leading by ~600K.

UPDATE 4: Take it for what it's worth:

UPDATE 5: Does this seem odd to you, too? Nevada won’t release new vote totals until Thursday. Keeping NV in the bank, so to speak?

  1. I hope the GOP is keeping a very close watch on the County elections offices.

Chain of custody is a major problem issue.

And what's with counting mail-in votes, or any votes, without valid signatures?

  2. I hope you are right. That statutes are unambiguous and your conclusions are obvious.

  3. As ACB has stated, legislatures make policies/laws, courts enforce them as written. No doubt where she will come down on this.

  4. Every inch of the map has to be fought for/scrutinized. For instance AZ was called by Fox before a single early vote was counted according to the Governor.

Fox is not a friend of Deplorables. Like Sports Inc. they'll gladly take your money, but icky people are not going get a invited up for wine and cheese with the Murdoch's after the show.

    1. It was interesting to see Bret Baier, whom I was sure had gone over to the Other Side when he and Meghan Kelly ran one debate in 2016, go after the “Decision Desk’s” too early call on Arizona. Maybe it was theater, but he seemed genuinely distressed by it. Slithery Arnon Mishkin, who heads up that Decision Desk and Fox’s polling as well (they use their polling results in guesstimating how to call before all votes are in), tried to grin his way through, but he still came across as mendacious as all get out. Depressing evening...

    1. Well, Fox has called 213 EC votes as of this time. Trump has to take GA, NC, MI, and PA to win. None of them are in the bag. All have deep blue urban precincts yet to report.

  6. I wondered about the trend of deep blue urban precincts in the east not being reported while results from red counties were flying in and true blue West Coast had no trouble catching up precinct % wise the first hour after the polls closed. Trying to get a handle on how many ballots they have to "find" maybe?

  7. I think the polls with history of being reliable (almost all calling for substantial Trump victory) may have over-counted election-day R vote; perhaps they forgot that many R's were also doing mail-in voting.

Alternatively, maybe the electorate really does want Chairman Ji controlling the Oval office.

  8. I'm disturbed by the Dem practice of pausing urban vote counting until all rural votes are in.

Rural counties should wait until after cities find in future.

These Lefties have been chomping at the bit, to inflict *revenge* upon the Deplorables (for their "tantrum" of 4 years ago).
(That word used by Peter Jennings, about GOP voters' conduct in the "94 election.)
Anyone trying to prevent such revenge will make themselves suspect (as did Danton, Desmoulins, Hérault etc., when they questioned aspects of the Reign of Terror).

  10. Yesterday Zman made the following point about the Deplorables:

"The irony of the Left making war on these people is that, without these people there can be no Left, as there is *no establishment* to support the Left.
Those huge crowds coming out to cheer for Trump are what makes liberal democracy *possible*.
If they are finally cut off, from having a say in how things are run, then the system begins to falter.
Many of those people coming out for Trump will simply drop out, but many will look around, for an *alternative* to the corrupt system they now *distrust*."

    1. Barr gambled that he could go for the whole enchilada (vs. the DS etc. plot), ASSuming that DJT would win, *w/o* the country knowing the truth of the magnitude of the plot, before going to vote.
This gamble looks likely to have become a loser, unless the Dems end up being thwarted by ScotUS, in such a process that the Dems can bring themselves to admit to have been fair (which is super-unlikely).
Had he told the country much of the truth, in time for it to make a diff, that news may've moved the needle far enough, to give DJT enough votes, for the current impasse to have been avoided.
Instead, any busts he announces now will likely be overshadowed, by other dramatic events (e.g. recount etc. news).
It'll now take a miracle, for the US to avoid a 1930's- Spain style bloodbath, or a Yugoslavia-style disintegration.
In which case, Barr should go down in history as one of the great Goats, akin to v. Hindenburg (for his naming of AH as Chancellor in 1933).

This is laughable except that we'll see a lot more of it in GA, PA, etc. The Dem response to Deplorable high dudgeon will be to laugh and say, "Whatcha gonna do, cry?"

  12. It may well be that time... These types of things are not going to go over well for any part of the country or demographics.

The SCOTUS is going to wish they pulled that trigger pre election.

  13. Once again Trump was prescient. We’ve seen it before on other topics than the election. He knew the only way that Biden could win was if the election process was corrupted, which took media help as well. Those bozos on Fox’s “Decision Desk” are as sketchy a bunch as I’ve seen anywhere. They also do Fox’s polling, which they then use to guesstimate where the uncounted ballots will go. We shouldn’t be doing elections or election reporting that way.

On a more hopeful note, Spengler (David Goldman) had this to say:

    https://pjmedia.com/spengler/2020/11/04/the-good-news-is-that-biden-is-screwed-even-if-he-wins-n1124975

"That’s why the White House is critical. It’s the Deep State vs. the American republic.
But even if Biden squeaks through, the Republican Senate and the Supreme Court provide constitutional *bulwarks* against the Democratic cabal."

The DS will see to it, that those bulwarks will be paper tigers, since they are likely at least as blackmailable etc., as they were before DJT took office.
The fact that Barr dared not go after the DS in time to matter, speaks hugely about how weak all such bulwarks are.

Biden will be irrelevant, he "barely knows that he's alive" (as cops/ carnies like to say).

    3. "it's hard to see how this could end up being good...."
If SCotUS can pull it out for DJT, these Leftists will respond by incinerating much of the country, and take at least millions of Deplorables down.

If you can get your kids/ grandkids out of here (say, to Sweden, where they refrained from imposing draconian lockdowns), it's worth a try.
Alternatively, send them to obscure parts of the country, where the locals might try de facto secession (before the DS gets around to bringing the hammer down).
These Leftists will be delighted to, off and on, impose draconian lockdowns etc., just to enjoy seeing Deplorables writhe in agony.

    4. Many agree with Spengler’s view that the Dem failure to take the Senate short circuits any grand design to put in huge new taxes, get us mired in the Green New Deal, turn us into a Socialist country. Stuart Varney (Fox Business) talked very seriously about that this morning. As a financial guy, he believes that Biden would be severely limited by not having the Senate and the Supreme Court.

    5. I get that, but what I'm saying is that we'll remain on a slippery slope. The difference will be that, whereas Trump tried to scramble back up, Biden will be greasing the downward slide through the usual Administrative State means. That may seem less dramatic, but it's still downward motion.

      Delete

  14. Trump is the incumbent, and it is his own fault that the election was close enough to steal.

In his first debate with Biden, Trump should not have interrupted him all the time. I am sure that that obnoxious foolishness cost him tens of thousands of votes.

Trump should have limited his participation in the COVID-19 press conferences. He should have left those press conferences largely to Pence and Fauci. I am sure that Trump's conduct during those press conferences cost him tens of thousands of votes.

I sincerely like Trump, I was happy to vote for him and I hoped and expected that he would win a clear victory.

However, his public conduct repulsed many voters decisively.

    2. I explained to my (adult) son - who doesn’t “like” Trump - that you study the issues, policies, pay attention, and then vote for what a person has done and will do. Not their looks, not whether you relate to them or not, whether they are too blunt for your taste. Just what they have done and will do. You’re looking for someone you can trust to run your country, your life. Not a best friend or mate.

    3. @Mark: Although he has given me much heartburn, I tend to agree with you.

And also, complaining about Trump's behavior is to ignore the behavior of the many vicious and scheming parties that he has been confronted with.

The fact that Trump was the incumbent does not factor much with me when you consider that he was running not just against Biden, but also the MSM, Orwellian Big Tech, and Dem fraud machine. Whatever Trump may have lost in the first debate he should have recovered in the second.

If people will countenance voting for Chairman Xi, there's not much anyone can do.

I keep hearing that this has not been done to the full extent required (ballots have been mingled). Whether they admit it ("an accident") or not, what can be done to rectify?

    3. But, Mouse, Trump won without it.
Look: the Dems feel completely comfortable dumping 300k fraudulent votes on the electorate under blatantly suspicious circumstances. I don't believe they would have batted an eye at a few hundred thousand more votes.

If Barr was waiting for political reasons, then shame on him. He should have known better. (And I do think that is possible.)

But you have to ask who really would have believed him if he made some statement a month or two ago without a robust slate of indictments backing him up. Recall that he has made several statements in the form of interviews and lectures. Who was listening? To force the MSM to publish it he had to have the indictments.

Was he ready? I cannot, with honest conviction, assert that he was.

Now...did the timeline extend because of discoveries like the Daniel Jones / alpha bank angle? Did he let the perfect get in the way of the good? If so, we will all rue it together...

    4. mistcr, it's indeed been my fear for months, that he was letting the perfect get in the way of the good.
As I said above, it looks like Barr gambled that he could go for the whole enchilada.
Now, whatever he does may end up being all-but utterly irrelevant, esp. once DJT loses all control on 20 Jan.

Those in the MSM etc. will (if they already don't) see the handwriting on the wall.
Whatever indictments he may bring now will likely be blown off, as being the death-rattle of a doomed system.

Is their an institutional / historic reason for their lack of interest?

    2. Not institutional but political. Politically everyone wants a quick resolution, which usually means through the courts. An FBI investigation would take forever. Check out the violations at this page and try to imagine how long it would take to resolve--well past 1/20, which is exactly what the Dems are counting on:

  18. They also were aware of the many instances of mail-in fraud reported in the last few months. I think I remember at least a couple dozen, and no doubt there were more.

Why wouldn't Barr or DOJ have a press conference, list them all off and announce every one of them would be investigated (whether they actually were or not).

Or even Kayleigh, and Trump himself, they only ever listed one or two when they mentioned mail-in fraud. Easy to dismiss one or two as isolated instances.

But if there was a long list that could be displayed, at least on right-leaning outlets, it might have had some effect.
