Briefly Noted: Dems Declare War On Their Base

Progs are nothing if not enthusiastic practitioners of scorched earth tactics. Yesterday the Zhou regime declared war on its political base--minority voters, especially blacks. Monica Showalter has details in a data rich article this morning: Biden to force vaccines on federal workforce -- blacks, minorities hardest hit

Of course the Dems have been trying to propagate the myth that it's Trump voters who are resisting the gene therapy injections, but that's not totally true. In point of fact, by far the most vax resistant demographic in America is black Americans--I've seen estimates as low as 9% for vaxxed blacks, followed relatively closely by Hispanics. Apparently most Progs haven't been paying attention to any of this and simply expect minorities to accept orders from Chairman Zhou and fall into line. Perhaps the behavior of the government teachers unions have deluded them.

Yesterday we got the first rumblings that this isn't going to be the case. The Postal Workers union reacted immediately to Zhou's vax ukase with a forthright statement that it was none of his business and that postal workers--disproportionately black--could decide for themselves. Said the union leadership:

it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent

The postal workers have now been joined by the the largest federal employees union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). Unionized federal workers are a heavily black demographic, and 40% of those workers have refused gene therapy injections. No wonder, then, that the AFGE has stated that it expects any such injection program to be "properly negotiated." IOW: Not so fast, Zhou!

There are other issues, as well.

There's the military, which has a large minority component as well as a large vax resistant component. Add mandatory gene therapy injections to a resentful and already divided force suffering mission fatigue and poor preparedness? Not smart.

Indeed, for all the publicity being given to businesses requiring participation in this experimental gene therapy program, Showalter cites a Gartner study that shows that "fewer than 10 percent of employers have said they intend to require all employees to be vaccinated." Huh. It's almost as if employers, who are having a ton of trouble attracting the employees they desperately need, have realized that a mandate of this sort will simply turn off prospective employees.

Keep digging!

I'm buying by the case, but it still doesn't last long.

  2. Whatever that pivot by Chairman Zhou was yesterday, crediting Trump for the vaccine, it was not politically smart or persuasive, it was the exact opposite of that. If it was Zhou wandering off script (highly doubtful) then its a big big problem for his handlers and the rest of us, but if it wasn't, and this is his handler's idea of strategic messaging, I predict that we will look back on that utterance as the beginnng of the end of the regime, which who knows how unpleasant that will be for all of us.
