A Twitter Political Potpourri

Catching up on Twits, er, Tweets.

Mis-Information herself, Jen Psaki, figures somewhat largely today. For example:

Alex Berenson

1/ More importantly,

@jrpsaki lied yesterday. She repeatedly referred to the vaccines as "approved":

"...even though many of them [the mRNA vaccines] are approved and have gone through the gold standard of the FDA approval process."

Now that's what I call misinformation.

2/ As we all know - including Psaki - the vaccines are NOT approved. They're authorized for emergency use (finding the emergency is another issue, but put that aside).

By the way, the "vaccine" fact sheet makes interesting reading:

Mis-Information also jousted a bit with Peter Doocy, repeatedly claiming that compiling a list of to-be-censored social media posters is a necessary thing because people are dying all across the country in a "pandemic," including "children".

This blatant to use scare mongering to justify censorship drew some predictable fire, although not nearly enough:

Will Chamberlain:

This attempt to cajole social media companies into censoring Americans should be seen as impeachable

Glenn Greenwald:

Every censor throughout history, in every culture, has justified their censorship by claiming the suppressed information is dangerous and the censorship is for the public good.

Liberals defending the Biden WH on this ground think they invented some novel, benevolent rationale.

Every conservative's go-to liberal, civil-libertarian, legal guy went on a tear on the entire issue:

Jonathan Turley

What is chilling is the degree to which reporters and academics support this censorship. Yet, that system is still not (to use Sen. Blumenthal's words) "robust enough" for Biden who wants these companies to carry out a more censorship of opposing views.

The Lethality of Free Speech: Biden Denounces Big Tech as “Killing People” By Not Censoring Speech President Joe Biden slammed Big Tech companies this week for “killing people” by failing to engage in even greater censorship of free speech on issues related to the pandemic. It was a …

jonathanturley.org

Biden is accusing Facebook of actually killing people for refusing more extensive censorship of speech. The statement equates free speech with death itself. We have seen this type of reckless rhetoric in other areas where disagreement is treated as de facto racism or hate speech.

From the massive censorship programs to privately mandated vaccine “passports,” liberals are looking to companies from Apple to American Airlines to carry out social programs free from constitutional and political limits imposed on the government ...

'Shadow State': Embracing corporate governance to escape

Just this week, the White House admitted it has been flagging “misinformation” for Facebook to censor.

thehill.com

... If these trends continue, citizens could find themselves effectively exiled by order of corporate governors—unable to travel or go to school while also barred from espousing dissenting views on social media.

...If this outsourcing of government is allowed to expand, some citizens could find themselves, effectively, be “disappeared” within a shadow state that lacks any electoral or appellate process.

I've been asked about the latest Russia Hoax nonsense--Putin supposedly blackmailing Trump, this time it's for real! This is stuff I just don't see any point in taking seriously--not even some of the novel theories being propounded based on it. Even some very wacky Lefties can see this is a waste of time:

Glenn Greenwald:

The Guardian has so destroyed its credibility among US media by continuing to publish the frauds and fabrications of Luke Harding that even hard-core Russiagaters like @juliaioffe are united with people like me in warning not to trust what they publish.

But now here's something rather interesting. Unfortunately it's the kind of thing where it's difficult to sort out who to trust, which version to trust:

Glenn Greenwald:

The new book by WSJ reporter @MichaelCBender recounts how -- while many leading Dems were praising Trump's 2020 killing of Iranian Gen. Soleimani -- both @mattgaetz  and  @TuckerCarlson were telling him he was wrong to do it and to avoid further escalation with Iran.

Trump told both Gaetz and Carlson he was pressured into it by GOP Senators, using their leverage of impeachment.

Either way, left-liberals who either refuse to see these trans-ideological opportunities on imperialism or who think they're too good for them are posturing frauds.

Now check out the two relevant pages on this story that I found here--the second page is very important. Talk about a snake pit!

  1. I would not be surprised if Trump had not done the Soleimani killing, the impeachment vote would have been closer. I am amazed at the amount of GOP Senators that seem to be in love with American Forces acting as the global police. The hysteria that Trump got trying to reduce the American Military foot print overseas, such as Syria, was incredible.

Three Trumpian Military actions in the M.E. that IMHO were brilliant, and somehow did not escalate.

    1. Iranian Gen. Soleimani killing had a huge positive impact on the Middle East mess.

    2. US bombing that was done in Syria.

    3. Destruction of the Wagner Russian Mercenary group.

And Trump was the only recent President not to start any new wars.

Why? They're well paid to be in luv with that. Trump's big problem was he didn't need anyone else's money, so he thought he could somehow do the right thing for the country.

  2. Bender and his wife are Washington insiders. I wouldn't believe a word he said. His take on the Soleimani operation makes Trump look like an ass. GOP senators wanted Soleimani dead? What GOP senators?

    2. Even insiders sometimes have inside information. And they sometimes run it past their sources for confirmation.

Yeah, and virtually all pro-Israel senators etc.

    Orange Woman Bad.

This admin - staffed with the deranged & absolute clueless dolts that it is - presents the gravest threat IMHO to the Republic since 1776. Not only is the Fed govt focused inward on straw man “white supremacists” (in actuality read “Trump voters” there) but they’re dangerously disengaged around the world.

Xi & Putin never had it so good.

  4. Quick responses:
    First, thanks for your analysis.
The video moves very quickly, so this is helpful. I only learned of the video 10 days ago, and in the context of learning about Stewart Rhodes I found it both astonishing and nigh persuasive.

On to some of your points:
    1. I think it's inconceivable that there were Trump supporters knowingly involved in the act. They would find a way to get the word out.

    2. I do not think they conceived, planned, and rehearsed this between 12/23 and 1/6. Not enough time, not by a long shot. Think more like 3-6 months.

2a: the ex-marine in Florida was approached about infiltrating Oath Keepers by DHS in early December, and they said something that in hindsight could be construed as referring to planning for 1/6.

    3. I think 1/6 has to be regarded as the culmination of FBI/DHS counter terrorism efforts stemming from the Oklahoma City bombing. They probably found it as difficult to infiltrate domestic militias as it would be an al Qaeda cell. So they created their own in order to flush out future domestic terrorists.

3a. Maybe all of those groups are FBI fronts.

    4. FBI probably thought Trump's MAGA vision was akin to McVeigh becoming president, but they couldn't very well attack him from that angle, so they made the Russia stuff up with an assist from HRC.

4a. I'll admit that people like Strozk actually seem to believe it, but there are other potential explanations for that.

    5. You mistake Barr's role. Perhaps some of the actors actually feared him, but there were never going to be meaningful prosecutions. He was there to make sure the IC didn't get destroyed by their overreach, to safeguard the presidency (not Trump), and to ensure Trump did not get a second term (no investigations of election fraud).

5a. I'm not sure if Barr was on a side. He's just a more level- headed member of the establishment who sought to contain Trump rather than destroy him. He tossed a couple bones to Trump (and us) and then at the perfect moment stabbed us in the back.

  6. Sorry if my responses sound like a one trick pony (soldier that is), but I'm completely baffled by the lack of interest and of course suppression of the immunity aspect for Covid by the relentless drum pounding to vaccinate everyone - no exceptions. I posted the other day from Dr. Rushworth's analysis of the Cleveland Clinic study that looked at 4 categories of employees in a population of ~ 52k categorized as 1) Not Vaccinated, 2) Vaccinated, 3) Recovered, 4) Recovered and Vaccinated, showing that the subjects in 2 (Vaxed) were mostly, but not completely protected from getting the virus and the subjects in groups 3 & 4 has almost zero infections/reinfections. The conclusion was those who recovered were very well protected and therefore there was little benefit to them getting vaxed vs. possible risks in doing so. The article this morning on AM thinker "The missing link in the COVID vaccine equation", references more information for this of us who has recovered and posed the question as to why can we get a 'recovered" stamp vs. having to subject ourselves to the world's largest clinical trial? I followed the link they referred in Natural News to ultimately get to the Israeli News article that purports that the recovered with antibodies at 6.72x more protected than the vaxed folks. Given what's going on in France with their vax passports, I too would be outraged at being sidelined from society even though I recovered, by having to chose between huge fines, staying home, or getting the vax I don't need. Every time I see this insanity, I have to remind myself that we in Florida have been fortunate that Desantis has stopped this from happening here, but definitely feel for folks like the French that are looking at 6 month jail time and a fine for not playing along.

  7. Brood of Senate Vipers, indeed. I am surprised there were only 16 of them. Any body of Senators that would elevate characters like the Terrible Turtle, Thune, LOL Lindsey, Rubio, Burr, and Sasse to "leadership" positions is seemingly beyond repair.

That said, any hope for MAGA success through a Trump second (and potentially third) term resides in MAGA types being elected and responsible for the Reps taking over the House. The formerly Young Gun McCarthy should then be dispatched from the Leader's chair with alacrity and replaced with a patriot.

It is only then that PDJT will not be impeached every week and will have some input/control over the "purse strings." The Senate can bluster and block and fail to confirm outsiders for Exec branch positions - but in the end they can't do anything legislatively without the House. Who knows, maybe that and PDJT would be enough to keep us out of wars? Probably wouldn't change the Chamber of Commerce guys from supporting controls on immigration, though.

  8. Oops... I meant wouldn't change the CoC guys from desiring uncontrolled immigration. Sorry!

    2. So ask our vaxxed loved ones to please get a D-dimer test? And then what? Wait for the heart failure? What I'm not clear on is that once the
trillions (with a "t") of spike proteins are produced in your body , should your hoped-for immune response eliminate all of them? So over time risk of micro clots goes down goes away? Or does the MRNA "technology" you've inserted in your body keep producing spike proteins ad nauseum or should I say ad mortem? Mark A
