UPDATED: Briefly Noted: In BLM News

Since I went way long earlier today, this will be very brief. You've probably seen this story, but Steve Sailer lends this LA expertise to interpret it:

BLM's Ladies of the Canyon

Sailer first quotes for the "Dirt" article:

Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors Lands Topanga Canyon Compound

then explains:

The amusing thing is that Topanga Canyon is culturally the whitest spot in the Los Angeles area: it’s been a semi-rural hippie enclave for bohemian artists since the 1960s. The last time I went hiking there, I saw Emmy Lou Harris out for a hike.

Residents over the years have included Woody Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Jim Morrison, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Neil Young, and Stephen Stills. During the mellow singer-songwriter boom of the 1970s, Topanga Canyon was associated with Laurel Canyon as constituting a scene.

Topanga is not terribly welcoming to outsiders. Back before GPS, the locals would frequently tear down the road sign pointing to the trailhead of the Topanga Canyon State Park.

But it’s perhaps the safest non-gated community in Los Angeles County for staying far, far away from black crime. Topanga was only 1.4% black in the 2010 Census and 84.5% non-Hispanic white, which is very white for L.A. County.

UPDATE: It's not real estate related, but this still seems a logical enough place to put this:

I don't. They would need ethics in the first place before I could question them.

  2. Don Surber riffs on Kahn this morning to the tune of The Beverly Hillbillies theme song:

Come and listen to a story about a gal named Kahn.
A poor terrorist who kept on keeping on.
Then one day she turned a city into tatters.
All she had to say was Black Lives Matter.

Some that is. Mostly peaceful protests.

Well the first thing you know ol Kahn's a millionaire.
Kinfolk said "Kahn move away from there"
Said "Topanga Canyon is the place you ought to do"
So they loaded up the truck and moved near The Bu.

Malibu, that is. Virtue signals. Movie stars.

Obviously, the common denominator which explains Ms Kahn-Cullors decision to move to Topanga isn't race or cultural whiteness.

Its the fact that they are all entertainers. For what is BLM if it is not entertainment?

  4. On further investigation, in fact, Kahn-Cullors apparently is, among other things, an artist and entertainer, and could well be described as a 21st Century bohemian: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrisse_Cullors

  5. Thread about restraints...

Apparently restraining someone in the face-down position is a no-no, and known about for years. Minneapolis training procedures were inadequate and/or outdated, which is possibly why they're trying to pin the blame on Chauvin.

And of course mob wants a lynching, spurred on by media.

It may be a no-no, but did it actually kill him?

      Seems not.

    2. seems like three things probably contributed:

      drugs
      heart issues
      restraint

Which one was the final straw is the question...
