I won't spend much time on Zhou Baiden's appearance on TV last night, not in the sense of parsing what he read. It's the type of thing that, if you waste much time thinking about it, will probably just make you stupid. If you roll in that kinda stuff, well, you start to smell like it. That's what my father used to say when I was young, and it's still true. Moreover, there are plenty of others to do that--Andrea Widburg, for example, does a terrific job: Biden’s scary, boring, and bizarre address to the nation.
However, I will take a stab at the Why? question. What was the real point of this exercise, if it wasn't to communicate information in the normal sense of: facts?
Until I learn otherwise, my assumption is that this was the best substitute for a Zhou SOTU that his handlers could dream up--something they thought they could pull off and maybe get away with. They must not have believed at this point that they could pull off a full blown SOTU in front of the nation. Nor a full blown press conference--the two traditional things that legit, mentally there, presidents do very early on in their administration. I assume that the Zhou Baiden regime feels that it's between a rock and a hard place. They knew all along that they'd need to pull a switcheroo and foist Kama Sutra on the nation, but they also knew--despite the brazenness of Election 2020 in all its aspects--that that move would take some finessing. That means they felt they would need some time to prepare the nation because, let's face, nobody actually voted for Kama Sutra. But here they are, they need time, yet Zhou's mental state may force action sooner than they'd like. The only dodge is to try to put off the demands for the constitutionally mandated SOTU or the traditional presser by feeding the public--and even the press--this pablum.
In the meantime, I'll second a point that Widburg made:
3. Biden kept saying that he was going to tell the truth. He quoted a woman he allegedly met who told him her heart’s desire: “‘I just want the truth. The truth. Just tell me the truth.’”
“Tell the truth,” Biden said again.”
“My fellow Americans,” he said, you’re owed nothing less than the truth.”
Later, he added, “I will tell you the truth.”
And then he said, “In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be traveling along with the first lady” and a whole host of others, “to tell you the truth.”
See? No solo flights for Zhou. This schtick last night was as close to solo as his handlers--his unlicensed doctor and the other handlers--dared allow Zhou.
Do you know who says things like that? Someone who’s lying.
That's exactly the kind of thing our instructors told us in interview training. When someone tells you--especially repeatedly--that they're gonna tell you the truth, be very skeptical. It's like another classic line: Let me be frank. That means they're gonna try to pull the wool over your eyes. What does that tell you about the state of mind of the people who wrote that dreck?
What was a bit surprising, though, was that Zhou's handlers repeatedly went for the Big Lie--the really Big Lie. I won't dwell on it, because I don't wanna get stupid. Still ...
The patently false claim that
“A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked, denials for days, weeks, then months.”
That's so false that even the MSM has been calling BS on this claim. The real intent behind this Big Lie appears to be to try to dupe America into accepting the Dem New Normal of lockdowns everywhere for an indefinitely extended period. A bit like the military occupation of the Imperial City on the Potomac. For fear of more 'insurrections' of the sort that even Bezos' WaPo is sniggering about. And to bolster all this lying they're going to drag Bush, Clinton, and Obama out to do a PSA on vaxxing. I do hope that President Trump was asked--and refused. Why degrade himself, both personally and--more importantly at this point--politically? Nice try, but I don't think this will fly with the American people.
Another Big Lie was the attempt to blame President Trump for the increased rate of African American attacks targeting East Asian Americans (the people we used to call Orientals)--especially frail and elderly men:
“Vicious hate crimes against Asian Americans who have been attacked, harassed, blamed, and scapegoated.”
That's a dead giveaway. The narrative on the Left is that African Americans--but seemingly not the rest of the nation--were fooled by President Trump into believing that East Asian American's are somehow to blame for Covid and should be attacked and even killed. Orange Man bad.
Who's about to believe that? Only the most committed members of the Dem base. Ordinarily aware Americans--including African Americans and East Asian Americans--know that this narrative is no more than the usual Big Lie that Dems believe they need to keep repeating. If they don't keep repeating it, people may--like reporters are beginning to do--start asking questions. That has to have Zhou's handlers very worried, and especially since the much younger Kama Sutra seems no more adept at handling questions than the clearly struggling Zhou.
How long can this continue?
UPDATE: Mostly just because it's really so good, but also for the short clip of what can only be described as the android Zhou Baiden woodenly repeating his lines:

I believe that the NG is still in D.C. specifically for the "switcheroo". They know it's coming soon and they fear that it may be a step too far and that the only way they'll be able to hold onto power is by force. Limbaugh always used to say (paraphrased): "watch them. They'll always tell you what they stand for, who they are and who they're afraid of"
ReplyDeleteI sure wouldn't bet against that.
DeleteExactly right. Plus the NG is need for when they try to pass HR1 by doing away with the filibuster.
DeleteThat prospect increasingly scares me.
DeleteOf course they ring the capitol with barbed wire and troops, especially as they become increasingly illegitimate and hostile. The buildings are a manifestation of the power they believe they now hold and wield. I have been witness to several coups across my years and travels, and it was always the buildings that everyone yearned to hold/occupy.
DeleteGreat response....the left is leaving BIG footprints everywhere....we just need someone to see them....!!
DeleteAgreed. That will allow Pelosi to move in the side car seat. Two female leaders. Won’t everyone be so proud and happy? What a reflection for the Global stage.
DeleteProblem is the National Guard troops have been f**ked over by the National Guard bureau. Under-cooked or raw chicken being served to them.
DeleteYou got to wonder how much longer they will accpet the abuse.

Mark,
ReplyDeleteMy belief is this will go on until he has an episode in a very public setting that gets everyone's attention. I read a while back that Reagan's issues became absolutely obvious when he gave a speech at his library and repeated a full story he told. The big difference was he was already out of office. The speaker of the house is in an earlier stage, and the democrats will try to bluff their way thru all of this. Unfortunately for them, they have no bench to take over when this falls apart. We need two opposing parties because one party rule never ends well. I see it every day here in Illinois.
Also, I use a logitech track ball and it really helped. Hope it does the same for you.
Steve
Illinois. [shakes head]
DeleteI was looking at some Logitech track balls yesterday. May give that a try. Tx.
Buy the Logitech track ball I have used it for years and would NEVER go to a mouse. The track ball is more accurate and uses less arm movement to control.
DeleteYou'll really like it.
Tx. I'm pretty sure that's the one I'll try.
DeleteKensington expert trackball - the Cat's Meow. Both wired and wireless versions. 55 mm ball, patented scroll ring, detachable wrist rest. 4 programmable buttons. I've tried several including a Logitech, and this one is (for me) by far the most comfortable. I've had two for years and wouldn't go with any other. Used to have carpal tunnel syndrome; this trackball helped minimize the pain. (Had surgery since then which fixed it permanently.)

I am fascinated reading your comments. I have had wrist problems in the past, but use a cheap Logitech wireless mouse and rarely move my wrist. All side to side motion is from my elbow while the wrist remains quiet. Scrolling with index finger. Never a bit of strain. What am I missing?
DeleteI can only speak for myself. I tend to move at the wrist. I've gotten a fair amount of relief from more and more keyboard shortcuts.
DeleteHow long can this go on? Not very long. It's human nature to try to summarize and encapsulate, to try to nutshell everything we experience, but those encapsulations fail to capture the broad expanse of reality. So, our discussions on this site. There are an incomprehensibly large number of ramifications of the steal/zhou occupancy, no one has even the remotest handle on them. And they are ramifying all the time. God help us. Mark A
ReplyDeleteYeah, what I fear--because I doubt it'll be a happy ending.
DeleteRe elections, in addition to confirmations of skullduggery in WI, I see it's being confirmed that the shredded ballots from Maricopa County AZ were, in fact ... shredded ballots from Maricopa County AZ's 2020 election. I'm sure there's a good reason why some significant number, but not all, of those ballots were shredded.
Some of my friends here in Delaware save set up a lottery when for$2 we select a day that Cameltoe takes over. Right now I have 4 July. We have 350$ in kitty right now.

I always figured, like you, that they'd want Zhou in place for at least 6 months. That might get difficult the way he's looking. Plus, replacing the VP is really sticky--see my comment below:
DeleteA new VP would have to be picked by a majority of BOTH houses of Congress--Woops! You'd have a deadlocked Senate. GOP could demand an accommodation or simply keep things deadlocked till 2022. McConnell might be just the guy to do that, like him or not.
Nor is the president’s appearance reassuring. He has a sickly pallor, is underweight, and quavers at times. Everyone will wish him good health and long life, but his appearance and manner on Thursday night will not incite confidence that he is likely to enjoy them. President Biden is oddly dyspeptic and downcast for someone who used to proclaim his ability and temptation to beat his chief opponent (Trump, who looks like Tarzan in comparison), to a pulp.

He reeks of Old. Even his hair looks old. The word “doddering” comes to mind. The squinting eyes make him look even older - and a bit angry - while the vacant look when his eyes open and just gaze is also disconcerting. Lights barely on and nobody home.
DeleteSame old Zhou, just less animated. :-)
DeleteThe reality of the entire Biden saga not only has to do with the demise of America and the subsequent global ramifications; he is the victim of elder abuse.
DeleteWhat is being done to Biden, with his consent, perhaps, is cruel.
Pope Bergoglio and the USCCB shamefully seem to enable his perdition. In so doing, the entire Catholic Church is ruthlessly mocked as now becomes little more than another NGO.
Before the inauguration, or, rather --- installation, someone suggested that if Biden has a conscience, he would concede the election to President Trump who, to date, has yet to actually, formally concede the election to Biden.
We hear very little about Sidney Powell and the suit Dominion has brought against her for exposing election fraud. The flames of Stop the Steal and Jericho March are now fanned by the regime's trumped up insurrection that will prove to be as much of a failure as the Russia-collusion narrative and the two sham impeachments.
If, as they say, "it all comes out in the wash" it looks like the regime is now in the spin cycle.
What will they do if one of these days Biden spills the beans?
Biden is a man to be deeply pitied. The Democratic Party he claimed to be not long ago has disgraced him, and he, them. For as embarrassing as he is as our CIC, it is simply sickening to conceive of the likes of Ms. Harris as not only our President, but the first woman to hold such a distinction.
Quos Deus vult perdere prius dementat – “those whom God wishes to destroy he first drives mad."
I believe the Constitution (clearly following it is optional) does not specify that the SOTU be delivered in a speech. A number of previous presidents of the Republic (Thomas Jefferson until Woodrow Wilson)sent written accounts to the Congress.
ReplyDeletehttps://history.house.gov/Institution/SOTU/State-of-the-Union/
DeleteThe point, of course, is that in modern times an address is expected. Further, it serves in a way as a test. The fear seems to be that Zhou would fail in front of the nation--as Conrad Black suggests he has already done.
DeleteIronically they confirm his infirmity and their fear of his publicly failing with their actions - keeping his appearances limited and painfully controlled, having minders like Jill and Kamala at the ready, and undoubtedly warning him “don’t you ever DREAM of answering their questions off the cuff!!!!. They, who know how bad he really is and what has to be done to prop him up, end up giving it all away. Their actions and those of that incredibly lame, inartful and arrogant Psaki actually pull back the curtain covering what they are trying so hard to hide.
DeleteThat SOTU address of President Trump's that Nancy Pelosi tore up might come in handy right about now! Maybe all she needs is some Scotch tape!
DeleteIs it possible that "they" want to keep Biden in position as long as possible so that Kamala can continue her role in the Senate? Biden does not make any decisions anyway.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mark, for all you do.
BH.
I saw some speculation about that, too. A new VP would have to be picked by a majority of BOTH houses of Congress--Woops! You'd have a deadlocked Senate. GOP could demand an accommodation or simply keep things deadlocked till 2022. McConnell might be just the guy to do that, like him or not.
