UPDATED: Why The Deep State Needed Flynn Gone So Bad

The reason Flynn had to go was because if he once settled in as NSA he would soon discover the whole operation against Trump--not only against the campaign but the continuing operation, centered in the NSC with Obama holdovers. Flynn would have been just about the only fully professional intel specialist, and at the top of the heap he'd see it all. With Flynn gone, in point of fact, the Obama holdovers at NSC and USIC were actually able to engineer the fake impeachment.

J. E. Dyer offers three brilliant tweets to explain this:

They had to intercept @GenFlynn quickly, b/c *the NSC was ground central for the anti-Trump op.* That's what I'm not sure everyone gets yet. It had to be executed at a level above auditability. Neither CIA nor DOJ qualifies...

And once they had to brief him about all ongoing counterintelligence cases, and Flynn dug into this, he was going to INSTANTLY see what they had done.
He would’ve quickly determined they’d BLUFFED their way to a surveillance warrant approval on Carter Page by using FRAUD.

Only level effectively unaudited over time is *NSC.* NSC is where only real check is what POTUS will either protect or weed out. And it wasn't just records of what HAD been done. They wanted to keep it going under new admin. We know they tried w/extensions of Page FISA.... 2/3

Mueller SCO was same effort. Flynn wd have detected whole ball of wax; he had to go. In retrospect, planning decision on that made right around 25 Dec 2016-4 Jan 2017. Hence keeping Flynn case open & moving to (1) ICA/dossier maneuvers (2) "leak" to Ignatius & follow-ons. 3/3

Now, listen to Andy McCarthy explain it at a bit more length--best thing he's done in ages:

Durham is going for the whole ball of wax. So much more than what most people think. "Sprawling"? God help us!

UPDATE: I just finished listening to the Lou Dobbs interview of Sidney Powell. It was an extraordinary, powerful, emotionally charged presentation by Powell--speaking as forcefully and openly as she has to date. Toward the end of the interview she sets out the key dates in January, 2017:

January 4: Strzok intervenes to keep the unpredicated Flynn case open, despite the fact that the Washington Field Office has found nothing against Flynn.

January 5: Obama summons the coup plotters to the Oval Office--Susan Rice, James Comey, James Clapper, John Brennan, Sally Yates--to strategize on the way forward, specifically discussing Flynn.

January 6: Comey is dispatched to New York to intimidate Trump by telling Trump that they have dirt on him--an attempt at blackmail that Trump angrily rejected.

January 10: Clapper tells "journalist" David Ignatius at the WaPo to "take the kill shot" on Flynn.

January 12: Yates and Comey sign off on the first Carter Page FISA renewal, to continue the spying on Trump.

  1. They fancied themselves the 21st Century equivalents to the Roman Preatorian Guard overthrowing presidents and guaranteeing successors. While in Rome this transition of the Guard took centuries, the FBI, along with DOJ, CIA, and others could not wait even 100 years.

Yeah, they did. I could also characterize them as the US KGB and that would be fairly accurate.

  3. I'm guessing this is related to the reasons why Obama vastly enlarged the size of the NSC staff during his 8 years; basically he stole the idea behind Nixon's Plumber's Unit, and put it on steroids and brought it in house as staff on the NSC, where it could unmask political enemies' foreign communications at will, with no oversight by any pesky IG's.

When Obama left office, the NSC holdovers became the Dems Trojan Horse inside the walls of the nascent Trump Administration, where they could plot, coordinate, and and carry out aspects of "conspiracy to commit coup."

    >> The acting Director of National Intelligence has ordered all 17 of the intelligence community agencies to immediately review whether their handling and sharing of information that identifies U.S. persons — such as citizens and those with permanent residency — are in compliance with strict privacy policies and procedures, according to a memorandum exclusively reviewed by CBS News. <<

I'm going to guess this falls into the "no such thing as a coincidence" department. I'm betting Grennel already has evidence of non-compliance, and is giving all the IC agencies 30 days to come clean, or lie to his face.

If they lie to him and say "our procedures are DoublePlus Good" when Grennel knows otherwise, then he knows who to fire.

    2. IT also feeds the "anybody is better than Grennel" narrative inside the IC, which may be useful in getting the Senate to quickly approve Ratcliffe's nomination for DNI.

  5. If Flynn was labeled an obstruction to the plotters’ coup attempt and therefore had to be removed so that the coup could proceed does it follow that Flynn’s replacement was complicate or at least turned a blind eye to the coup? Also, as K. Conway has recently suggested Obama was much more involved in this than is generally acknowledged. Review Obama’s initial election success, it was the release of sealed divorce documents for Illinois state senate against Bobby Rush, then again he won his US senate seat through the release of sealed divorce documents against Ryan (?). He won re-election in 2012 starting in 2010 or before by co-opting the IRS to crush and delay non-profit status for conservative causes. Can it be a surprise to anyone that using the FBI, DOJ, State, CIA, and NSA was his and his followers the natural progression? I am no expert in the criminal mind but it sure does strike one that Obama had a string of unpunished transgressions which human nature suggests will only get worse and more extreme without negative consequences and now he is worth more than US$50million on government salary for the prior 10 years, so much for negative consequences.

    1. unfortunately he will never be called to account. Everyone that knows where the evidence is that has his fingerprints on it will bite off their tongue before they utter a word. They know that Obama's "social distancing" from the wet work is a mere matter of political hygiene, not because Valerie Jarrett is squeamish.

    2. Obama was a creature of big money interests. His rise in public life was strictly a function of wealthy sponsors, especially the Pritzker family.

  6. The momentum of revelations is quickening and with that comes new risk. The Deep State is wounded, but still formidable. The MSM blackout of the Flynn developments and Biden's perversion vulnerability are treading water at best, and the Rona scare is loosing traction as well. The Deep State now believes it needs a Black Swan event in order derail the Durham investigation and they are sifting through a panoply of options. And yes, there really is a group-think consortium that does this. Best guess is another Lehman type collapse coming in September after the Democrat Convention selects a new candidate. Best defense, the indictments need to roll out as soon as practicable.

  7. MW: this may be a big clue as to ONE reason why Strzok went bonkers when WFO snet out draft notice of closing CROSSFIRE RAZOR on Jan4th 2017.

Something called "CR cuts" were planned for inclusion in the infamous Russian Election Interference" ICA that was released on 6 January 2017.

ON 3 January, Strzok adn L. Page are texting about their concerns about the "CR cuts" having a wider distribution than just DNI when the ICA is released, fearing how the partisans axe choppers in the USIC might get carried away with them.

Here's the key point IMHO: if "CR cuts" refer to cheery-picked quotes from the Kislyak/FLynn phone calls, you have to wonder why are they being inserted into the ICA, when the ICA is all about Russian Election interference in 2016, adn the WFO is one day away from closing the CR investigation because they found no evidence to indicate Flynn was working for the Russians. So why is Brennan and Strzok inserting parts of the transcript in an ICA about Russian Election Tampering if Flynn isn't connected to it?

My guess is they cherry-picked quotes which -- when taken out of context (which is what "cherry-picking" is) -- could be construed as potentially suggesting Flynn is trying to help the Russians.

I can't think of any other reason for inserting material from the Flynn/Kislyak phone call into this ICA unless that's how they were trying to use it -- to create a false narrative that supports the ICA premise, intended to undermine the incoming administration.

SO the very next day, WFO announces their intent to close CR.

If I'm right about what they were inserting into the ICA, and what it's purpose was, then WFO closing CR investigation a day before the ICA is released would completely undermine the narrative they were trying to support with the cherry picked transcripts.

I think this is a big reason (but not the only one) why Strzok and the 7th Floor went nuts when WFO announced they intended to close CR for lack of evidence Flynn was assisting the Russians -- it would have completely undermine the cherry-pick quotes in the Flynn/Kislyak transcripts they were releasing two days later to bolster the central claim of the ICA that the Russian had interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump win.
WFO closing out CR investigation would have revealled the "CR cuts" -- intended to make it look like Flynn might be trying to collude with the Russians -- inserted in the ICA must have been pure garbage.

No wonder Strzok and the 7th Floor went nuts!

    Does this hypothesis make sense?

  8. -->January 6: Comey is dispatched to New York to intimidate Trump by telling Trump that they have dirt on him--an attempt at blackmail that Trump angrily rejected.<--

This was Comey's disclosure of the "pee tape" allegation from the Steele dossier, which was the pretext for media (BuzzFeed) publishing the Clinton/DNC/FusionGPS funded/sourced Steele material that media has seen, but had no second corroboration to print.

Clapper urged Comey to discuss the Steele dossier so that media had what they needed to publish--reporting was what was leaked--that it was discussed, not that it had been corroborated or was factual in any way.

This is how media is manipulated--leaks get published as they need no corroboration: the leak IS news. Other information, facts, etc., need corroboration with a second source.

What's more fantastic is the Jan 5 meeting as memorialized by Susan Rice on the way out the door on Jan 20, 2016 that the security intelligence principals discussed with Obama withholding classified information from the incoming administration--which is NOT "by the books," contrary to what she insists Obama claimed in the memo. Talk about intentions, actions, evidence hiding in plain sight.

  10. Andrew McCarthy's latest take:

He gets right to the motive for taking Flynn out: FBI/DOJ (and the Obama shadow government in exile) wanted to continue the Russia Collusion investigation (which they knew was bogus at that point) to harass and eat out the substance of the new Administration at all costs, and could not afford for someone like Flynn in the NSA slot to discover the Deep State Trojan Horse inside the WH.

    1. Yes, he boiled that down into 3 minutes with Tucker Carlson last night. It's got a lot to recommend it. Obviously the Deep State was out to screw Flynn long before Trump got elected, but when they realized Flynn would be NSA they musta wet their pants. From what I've heard Flynn had BIG plans for a do-over of the USIC, starting with the NSC.

  11. Can the behavior by Comey, et al. be legally classified as treasonous? Attempting to destabilize the Presidency is, in essence, destabilizing the nation.... am I at sea on this?

  12. Yes, you're at sea:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort."

Destabilizing isn't levying war. Nor is it sedition.

    1. Nor did I know that. I always more or less assumed that he was maybe a Unit Chief at HQ--because until now we didn't know the extent of WFO involvement.

Yeah, he knew going into the interview that he'd be talking to an innocent man. Perhaps that's why he wrote up an honest "original" 302. Or so it seems.

I'm sure there's more to this story.

  15. More from FLynn's attorney:

    >> Powell added, “The reason they went ahead and prosecuted General Flynn and made up the case against him [is because] he was a twofer. One, they needed to take him out completely or he would find out as national security adviser exactly what they’d been up to. He was already planning to tighten up and audit the intel agencies — all of them because — he knew how bloated and inefficient they were and how they were running billions of dollars and off-book operations, particularly Mr. Brennan and Mr. Clapper, probably.

“[Michael Flynn] knew where the bodies were buried in Benghazi, no pun intended, and any number of other interactions by federal officials, because he was ahead of Obama’s defense intelligence agency until he was outspoken on the whole ISIS problem, which Obama was minimizing when Flynn saw it as the huge problem it was, and Obama fired him,” explained Powell.

Pollak asked, “Are there any crimes you think were committed by the Obama team? … Are there any crimes that are prosecutable by Comey and his team or is that something to leave for a later time?”

Powell replied, “From the evidence I’ve seen, I am pretty sure there are at least offenses such as obstruction of justice because making up a crime against someone is definitely [a] conspiracy to obstruct justice. That’s another five-year count. False statements, conspiracy to make false statements, perjury in front of Congress, there are a lot of offenses that are going to come into play.” <<
